Okay I had a rock fall on my hood. The depression is almost triangle like, with a sharp point in the middle with that being the lowest spot. If I understand correctly I am hammering from the "low side" and hold the dolly firmly against the protruded metal?
Yes, that's it. Firmly hold the dolly against the protruded metal and hammer from the other side. A good toke beforehand will make it easier!

Can this technique be used on brass panels - I have made a 1/6 scale traction engine and the tender is full of complex curves. I made a template from wood and used a wooden hammer to bend the annealed brass into place. Had to cut out the excess folds and rejoin using silver solder. A long job - about 3 months of 2 to 3hrs a day
Thanks Pierre. Shouldn't be too long now. I believe it can be used on brass, for artistic projects like old fashioned armoured suits. It looks very difficult to do any metal on such a small scale though. I'm a fan of steam power, so that sounds like a very interesting job - and very rewarding. Good luck!

High spots or low spots first, or does it not matter?
You should be hitting the high spot with your hammer, and with the dolly touching the low spot, the high and low spots should level out together. They're both levelled at the same time. Hope that makes sense!

You do a great job at what you do, but your video tells me that you really do not know what the dollies are meant for and should not be for educational videos. You get the job done, just not the correct way.
Thanks. I try my best. I did initially go on a course where I was told 'we do things the proper way here' but it was only looking at basic videos by amateurs that made me think I could achieve something.
yeah....he's only metal formed an entire car body out of steel....but I'm sure you know so much more.
