Glad to have you back at the playground, but honestly I loved the whistler content as well. I'm here to offer perspective that may or may not be helpful. It's nearly September now, and the weather is going to turn colder, and likely make dirt work a lot harder. I'm going to assume that some version of all (3) projects will get built, so the real question isn't WHAT we want to see, it's what do we want to see FIRST? Logistically, I think you've gotta start with option #2, 'Big Line' because of weather considerations, the ease of releasing regular videos (1 feature/week for 9-12 weeks?). Plus it offers sick jumps, and interwoven line, and a chance at a MEGA TRAIN. I think the mega line also opens up an interesting end of sideline, after the series of jump choices, you could add a wide, split berm (think about a shape like the top of a heart) to roll out of those jumps, either to the left and under the Big Line, or to the right (and the future dismount of option #1's big jump). If at some point you need a break from the new line, you can do a 1-day-whale-tail (which is coincidentally also the summary of a beach fling I had during a summer at university). No matter what you choose the content is great. Keep up the good work!
Anyone whinging that you guys took a break is selfish. At the end of the day you're a rider and a human being, you need to be able to get out and enjoy yourself and have a life outside of just building jumps for our entertainment! All your other content is always sick!

I love the idea of the lines all linking together starting with a long, big line, plus the time lapses look awesome with heavy machinery. You could also have hipped, stepped down landings heading each side of the big line as it’s on a ridge which would be sick
Matt- definitely go with the 2nd idea you had. the big line that eventually links round to the first roll in, just provides you with loads of options. then scrap the trick jump, and build a line that you were on about right at the end, crossing over the big line, but starting from the mound.
Big mega line that can be ridden on big bikes as well as smaller bikes. Doesnt have to be dark fest but that vibe. The space begs for a long fast explorational trail. What you have currently built is still the same as you have always built. Just at 6:30min and that ridge between the tress discussing tabletops sounds INCREDIBLE!!!!!
My vote is a combination of the big trail line and including the big trick jump. Start at the quarry hill, over the OG roll in, massive hip into the trick jump location and hopefully onwards from there, Ideally working back up to at least the OG roll in. I've always had a fantasy of having a line that starts small, growing bigger and bigger and then shrinking back down into a return rhythm back up the hill to the start.

For sure big line!!! The upper hill whale tail should be build to the right so you can land and make a big left hip back on to main line! Also! Having a big dirt spine mid way through a series of trails!
The big mega trail line! With so much links to the other lines as possible, i think there are a few options to link a lot of the stuff together with some linking rollers/jumps.
Flat drop off container into big trick jump. On the side build like a small red bull booth/chill zone, with music,mini fridges and seats to watch the tricks
I think a big line would be really cool, but I would start with the trick jump to kind of like get back into the building, and not have it seem like you have a huge task to make the big jump line. Just my thoughts, I haven’t really built and decent sized jumps at all.
Matt when you said start the big line on the big Mound where you guys have been getting dirt from I was thinking build a long step down jumping the fence and the roll in at the start of main line. You would gain so much speed for a huge right hip going down the right side of the playground followed by some massive jumps

Big line for the win. It's fun watching you build and attempt novelty jumps and lines, but they often end up sitting to the side unridden for the long term. A big line that inspires pros to come and challenge themselves and throw down is content+
I'd say the big line, it needs that level for progression from tech and small, to bigger and more risky for progression. and after you guys build the big line, you could integrate the bowl idea with a pump track and link the pump track, sideline, and mainline all in 1.
I would say make a big line but also doubles as a tech line that wines through trees and goes back in forth between trees, make it lead back to the open grass and keep the line going.

I can't wait to see it! A community I live in and mtb in is building a trail system on 17 acres we got ahold of for our tourism programs. Plus my wife and I own a little under 200 acres in Morehead where we went to college and would love to build a badass park out that way. We all watch your show!
#2 -> Big line, back to front. Make the Super Circuit! Also, do some of the smaller episode builds like the whale tail along the way to break up the big build since it's going to take quite a few episodes to complete. You know you're going to build them all anyway, so go big boss! LOL!
Everyone complaining about the break from playground uploads should go build a trail half the quality of you and the boys, and see if they would manage the pace you guys are going
I would love to see a long trail that loops around the whole place with some smaller jumps, some wooden features, and some drops that you could do on an enduro or a trail bike. Maybe some rock gardens and some techy bits would be really cool. A kind of tour de playground. The trick jump though would be great. Seriously though, Matt you should bring your downduro (park bike) and ride all the trails on it.
Id love to see option 2 then option 1 with the shipping container! The main problem with the playground is it’s all driven by you tube content… kinda sucks as you think you don’t have enough time to build big things! Maybe time to get diggers and possibly more help? Could be an awesome idea to have fans apply who are willing to come help or something? But definitely need big jumps that flow!!!

I would say figure the logistics of each project and maybe move all the dirt needed for each project to where it will most likely be needed. Might make the dirt easier to work with during the colder months if it’s nice and loose. If the dirt is everywhere it needs to be, then you can focus more on just the building, which is nice for us.
You could do a sort of wooden line where all the features use wood in some way. It would be a lot of work but you could add the whale tail and spine to it along with an on off box, canon ect. And best part, it could be called hardline for three reasons. 1. Nod to red bull hardline, 2. Wood is hard, and 3 some other wood gets hard seeing the beautiful features. 🗿

And the best thing for the future would actually be an event where the riders have to ride every line in a jam format and everything gets filmed and judged on overall impression at the end of the day. A bit like Audi Nines but more trail and maybe style/creativity focussed. Maybe I am a bit too optimistic but that would be insane to see.

Matt, just take all the things you want to build: trick jumps, whale tale etc and put it in the big line. That ridge would be sick with jumps and the fact that it loops all the way back makes it that much more rad
I would like a roller coaster line, which in my mind means not many jumps but making all the little hills to a roller coaster. Like going over those hills, going in a big berm at max speed and than going again over one of these little hills and so on. Like a roller coaster. I mean you could also ad some jumps.
Glad you are back, in your absence I have found so much joy in the other playlist you have! I am kind of new to the channel and only started watching during episode 2 of the Playground so it is nice to see the progression that has been done since the start of your channel. I think the Playground needs a long line as you mentioned which will link all the lines together. Stamina or not it allows for so much in this area that it would bring everything together and make this place epic. Everything in one place kind of deal. Except for the airbag haha which the videos are insane. It would be pretty kick-ass to bring your brother and a few others from the past videos to come to ride like Kieran Reilly. The two of you worked so well together pushing the limits. Same with your brother. The tremendous amount of energy you guys put off with your riding and shenanigans is particularly fun to watch.

Shipping container roll in, then have red bull come in and set up a bar/cafe in it. Water reservoir out back for drinking water. And some chairs for Jamie to relax in after fixing all your divots.
Suggestion, A big line would be sick you could build a big jump next to the epic line then transfer from the mini side line step up landing into the huge quarter

Matt you should get a surveying drone out to create a 3D map of the Playground to put on the internet. Then people could get creative and send you various ideas for features/lines
Sounds like your new line should be.... the time and space line... ;) The big line for sure but let's be real. Two massive flowing shark fin lines that cross each other the entire time... Really big ones.... no rollers.. You should be at your max height over the takeoff for the other jumps shark fin lip. So you're looking at them coming up the ramp as you're crossing them.
I think you should make a foam pit with wooden take-off and a cover for the foam pit so can be covered in bad weather, and then Matt can work on even more ridiculous tricks and Ben and Jaime can work on tricks too

loads of sandy dirt to try and build a winter line? Focus on next level drainage, jump covers, etc. Could be interesting for a lot of people!
I think a big line would be cool, Something similar to how Sam Reynolds has his set up, Few big floaters into a fun trick jump! I’m sure whichever you decide on us fans will enjoy!
Big money booter $$$$ with a proper roll in built on top of that hill (with hand rail). And a party deck with sun chairs and a mini fridge full of Red Bull's for the boys!

Big line is the main attraction but you can smash out the trick jump in a couple of episodes

Make the whale tail, then the big trick jump before getting into the big line. Would love to see you make all of those ideas eventually! Would love to seen Ben ride another whale tail you build as well. Might have to build that loopty loop before the big line at this rate though .... maybe one wide enough for a car?
