Great start to Sunday morning as always. Just a personal comment. Am I the only one who thinks that dresses where the gathers start above the bust make you look twice as big as you are? 😊

Maternity springs to mind! Not for me, I think you at least have to be tall to carry them off.

I am tall - and still NO.

Certain people look good I'm that style, but generally petite women. I notice a lot of East Asians wear and suit that smock style. It's not for me because it reminds me of little girl's dresses.

I have to agree too on the bigger boobs and small stature issue with the Honey dress, I love the Lilian slip dress though and the embroidery design is gorgeous.

It very much depends on how stiff or drapey your fabric is, I think.

I loved the interview with Patrick Grant. You both looked so relaxed and at ease with each other. Regarding the fabric stash poof, I have to shout out the Closet Core poof. It's free! Not necessarily for beginners as it has panels but I've made three, stuffed with scraps and old curtains. You could definitely stuff with unused fabric but the stuffing itself is a bit of a challenge if you don't want lumps and bumps showing. Perhaps a future episode on scrap busting patterns? Love your channel! ❤

I love the pouf! When I stopped wearing synthetics, I donated most garments, but anything not worth donating, I used to stuff a bed for my great dane... It was a lot hahaha. I highly recommend shredding the materials so you have an even density and it doesn't settle all lumpy.

I could put all of my wool and other knitting in those poufs!

The only thing with a scrap pouffe is, they get very heavy as you fill them up, can be hard to move around, which may be a plus in some homes, Great Sunday catch up as always. Thanks for taking the time to share.

I'm one of the very very few who got hold of Merchant and Mills Solar in the few hours it was available and honey is what you would get if someone spent a entire year redesigning Solar and gave up on the no waste concept part way though. Making mine up today as I need a sun dress and of course the weather has turned.

The M&M dress has 'mitred' corners - a woodworking term!

A sewing term too since corners began.

@@judithhamid5435 Since the term mitre comes from the shape of a bishops hat I would not be too sure about that. Then there is always the possibility that the joiners wrote about it earlier, but really got the word from the way their mothers shaped the hems of heavy linen table cloths…

So glad you mentioned the website as I've been having a bit of trouble with the filters. I've tried a few times this week to filter by size and/or style on Coats & Jackets and I just get the spinning wheel of doom. Sorry to be negative ☹. On a positive note, love everything you do! 😊

Congrats to the website shift. Did I not look well enough or has the search filter for pdfs been lost in transport? As a European I‘d only buy a paper pattern if there is absolutely no other way to get it.

Omg that polo dress is a horrible fit. It’s way too tight over the bust and the armholes are too small for the model. No wonder people don’t know how things are supposed to fit when pattern companies show models like this.
