🔥🔥🔥🔥FIRE!! Im listening to music over 60 yrs this is one of the greatest performances ever!! . Phenomenal job done by all Bill is still performing at age 84 but with Bucky Heard sadly Bobby passed in 2003. The first woman is Darlene Love, great singer. Her and Bill had a relationship she revealed it in her book.
I was lucky enough to be a teenager throughout the sixties when all this was happening. The fact that I was from a small Canadian town in southern Ontario
Getting into these live gems from Shindig is where the magic of these 2 men happens...and Bobby passes the baton to the GREAT Darlene Love who had hits of her own under her belt. Christmas wouldn't be the same in my house without hearing "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)" and, luckily, it's in quite a few Hallmark Christmas movies. Thanks to you and others I get to fall in love with the guys all over again.
Hi Jasmine, This is some serious "Soul Music!!!" The Righteous Brothers don't miss...they always "Deliver The Goods!!!" They were not pretenders, they were the "Real Deal" who always left it all out on the stage when they performed!!! Truly Righteous!!!
I never saw this but am not surprised either. I loved them growing up. Just as I did Little Anthony and the Imperials type groups. Was a great time for music back then.
The Blossoms and the RB toured together a lot in the 60's. Darlene Love and Bill were together for about three years, but not yet when this was filmed.
Nice reaction, Jasmine. I hadn't seen this video. Yes, Ray Charles recorded this along with his 'Raylettes' I believe his female backup singers were called.
Jasmine, I love your enthusiasm for this old school music!❤ You are truly an old soul. And I like when you said if you closed your eyes you'd think the Righteous Brothers were black. Well I was in high school when we first heard them and we all thought they were black. Didn't know until we saw them on TV. Our minds were blown🤯 And it was wonderful to grow up hearing all these amazing singers during the 50', 60's, and 70's. I have an old album of theirs called Go Ahead and Cry. Check out the title song as well as Drown In My Own Tears, and I Believe. I think you'll love it. Take care!
OK, if you haven't watched the academy-award-winning documentary '20 Feet From Stardom' yet, you really have to. A superb documentary that includes - among others - a brief history of the Blossoms (featured here). You will be amazed. So Jasmine, I'll make an offer. I'll give you double-your-money-back if you watch it and don't think the documentary is entirely worthwhile. Absolutely guaranteed, You get a bit of history of the times from a totally different perspective.
This for reacting to this great song, I suggested it.This was a phenomenal performance one of the best I heard in my 60 yrs of listening to music. The first woman is the great Darlene Love later went to the Crystals. This was 🔥🔥🔥🔥FIRE! Yes it's a Ray Charles song I believe he did the original.
For blue eyed soul listen to Greg Allman of the Allman Brothers, John Fogerty ( CCR) Patsy Cline , Chris Stapleton, Daryl Oates , Robert Plant , Beth Hart, Micheal McDonald , Joe Bonnarassa, Jimmy Barnes ( Stone Cold) a must listen, John Farenen , Simply Red , lots more if you do your research
You are so delighted with them but still didn’t react to Bill’s solo and you should listen the torrid I wanna make love to you 🔥 Your reaction will be as surprised as with Bobby’s summertime
You are absolutely right and why they were referred to as blue-eyed soul meaning white soul brothers. I grew up with these 2 and would spin their 45 records having never seen them on TV performing and assumed they were black since I listen to Motown music which was my favorite. The first time I saw them on TV I was shocked they were white.
Your right, Black White Purple the cream always rises to the top, Always look up. David Ruffen joined the Temps in 65. Eddie Kendrick . They were the best. Gods they where.
Jasmine, keep digging into the Righteous Brothers (maybe "Little Latin Lupe Lu" LIVE ) and The Platters, The Drifters, and Roy Orbison, who Elvis said was the best singer he ever heard. There is real magic there. You could also try Bobby Darin doing "If I Were A Carpenter" (LIVE).
Honey, you wanna blown away, play summertime by my boy Bobby Hatfield. The greatest blues vocal of all time.oh I almost replaced Bobby in 2013 but like Bobby I had my personal demons like cocaine and sister alcohol.but , yes I may be the only white boy or black boy that can sing like Bobby !!! Rip Bobby and God bless you girl for appreciating the baddest blues singers ever.oh by the way,Aretha Franklin and James Brown were two of their biggest fans !!!
Bill’s still singing like that.😊
He sure is! I saw him in October. A true Legend!
I've seen ALOT of the Righteous Brothers, but I have never seen this before ! I love it !
Check out Bobby Hatfield's beautiful rendition of Sam Cooke's "A change gonna come"
Actually, that’s Bill, from his blues album Your Hnd to Mine (a GREAT cd, BTW). I think he also recorded it in the 70s on one of his solo albums.
Yes, Bobby Hatfield sang "A Change Is Gonna Come". It was on the 1966 "Soul and Inspiration" album. 🎶
I'm with you! I love this video, too! I'm 74 yrs old and don't remember seeing this one! Love, love, love it. ❤️ ❤️
❤️❤️

Awesome job young lady
Great video. Great reaction.
You gotta appreciate what is happening considering the time they are in. A rare shot of paradise with God's children.
Thanks Jasmine.
No thank you for watching!
The music is referred to as " Blue Eyed Soul"
This was originally sung by Ray Charles. Love the way they all take turns singing the lead.
As good as it gets
what a treasure seeing this video! Thank you for sharing!
Your reactions are so refreshing and honest
Appreciate this more than you know ❤️
One second. Is this the song that was featured on the Cosby Show 🤔?
I was lucky enough to be a teenager throughout the sixties when all this was happening. The fact that I was from a small Canadian town in southern Ontario
They were identified as Blue Eyed Soul Brothers
That's a Ray Charles special

Facts!!!!
Huge "SHOUT-OUT" to The Blossoms and their band too because they were jamming!!!
Seems like all people love them
Wow behold the truly unifying power of Soul Power! I love listening to this online or on my Moms old records Amazing

YOU NEED TO KEEP RESEARCHING YOU WILL FIND MORE SINGERS THIS WAY DURING THIS TIME THAT WILL AMAZE YOU
Ray Charles, Little Richard, Bobby Bland were all inspirations for the Righteous Brothers. They both learned to sing listening to their music.🙂
You were right Ray Charles sang this tune but at a slower tempo. Righteous Brothers were Blue Eyed Soul Brothers.
What year was this
Bill (the deep voiced one) said in an interview that he was deeply influenced by Ray Charles

Yes!!! Bill has the sexiest voice on the planet!
You are taught racism. Don’t let them do that you to.

get Bill Medley Sings the Blues. The last time.
Absolutely! He sings this song, which he wrote, in his live show. We gave him a standing ovation! The cd is Your Heart to Mine Dedicated to the Blues.
