Now you know why they were called "Blue Eyed Soul"! When they first came out everyone thought they were black ~ no one sang like them before. Simply fantastic! No one can touch them, in those days there was REAL TALENT! No gimmicks, no whore's, no showing your crotch. Just pure talent. God, I miss those days. Thank you Bill and Bobby.
No one could outshine Bobby, his extraordinary voice, that beautiful smile, the way he moved and interacted with everyone was a fantasy in motion! Rest in peace Bobby, always in my heart, wish I'd had the chance to see you live😔
I am just digging the Brothers. I am watching as much of their stuff as I have time for. As a Black man (62yrs) watching this video, this guys are not faking it, they are totally in their element. I like to watch Bobby when he physically gets all into his songs.
Bill Medley is the white Ray Charles, imo…these guys have been among my favs since 1964, when I was 16/17 yrs old and discovered them on the radio in W. Upstate NY…❤❤❤❤…thanks sooo much for sharing…💯❤️🫂
Bill is vastly underrated. It's a crime that his solo albums are not remastered and rereleased as CDs. A Song For You, in particular, is outstanding. Right Here and Now is great, too.
@jacquelinesavoie9749 Bobby did make beautiful children with two beautiful women! However, Darlene liked Bill better...think he was already married to his lovely wife Karen...they had lots of fun but lots of sadness too.
I remember when this ran and we couldn't believe how good it was. Shindig didn't hit higher than the Blossoms and the Righteous Bros. Some people were shocked that white boys and black gals were singing such hot, sexy songs together on TV.
@@garyeaton5719 It was at this time (0r a little later) when Weil and Mann wrote this for Bill. When Mann took Brown Eyed Woman to him to ask if he would be comfortable singing it, Darleen Love walked out of the kitchen and Mann said "I'll take that as a yes."
@@patricialabbe1416 I had read on another comment page that Bill had written it. Thanks for filling in the details. I Love their music, I appreciate them more now than I did back then.
@@garyeaton5719 Bill did write some great songs but not this one. Several of his are featured on his album Blue Eyed Singer. When it came time to record Brown Eyed Woman he wasn't happy with how it was going. When they moved Darlene right in front of him, he sang it directly to her and it really worked. Glad you liked my reply. Wasn't trying to be hyper critical but seems you are a true fan and deserved the truth. I too have become ever more impressed with the RB and especially Bill over the years.
No click track, no pitch correct , no video screen in the background and no overwhelming choreography, no synths, no subs.! That was the real thing and live.!
Nice.....nice....nice all the way around. This ( sadly ) short-lived musicfest had some fantastic and unique vocal collaborations.Wish they had them on audio as well as DVD.
They were the Righteous Bros but they were also known as the Blue Eyed Soul Bros. Now you know why.Bobbywss the whole package gorgeous voice and looks. But I won't sell Bill Melody short he had his style too and not bad to look at.Love them with the Blossoms singing with them.
OH MY GAWD!!!! I'd have given...you know what...to have been there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love, love, love all the Righteous Brothers (and Blossoms) stuff...BUT, BUT, BUT I don't believe I've ever clapped as hard and as much for any other of their RUclips videos!!!!!!!!!! And I've seen them all!
Good entertainment and soulful from the "oldies" day. This is spectacular. Wish I could've been there. They had more fun than the audience or fans. You'll always get a great show when the UK and The USA hook up.
I just found out from other posted comments here on RUclips that Bill Medley (taller one) and Darlene Love (with the lighter-colored wig) had a relationship in real life. That makes me happy because I really like both of them.
Yeah they did, did you see him sing Brown Eyed Woman at the Playboy club? He kept turning around to see her. Said they didn't get real serious because he was married, and black and white wasn't done back then. She didn't want to go there because of it. Also look over his left shoulder as he's singing. Trump is there too.
I have always loved this song but watching the video only intensifies my feelings. I'm going to say it and feel free to disagree. Bill Medley in my opinion is truly one of the best R&B/Soul singers ever. The Righteous Brothers were one of the greatest duos of that era....
The Righteous Brothers performed on the Pilot episode of "Shindig!" on ABC, which was recorded in the Summer of 1964, for broadcast in the Fall of that year. Sam Cooke also performed on the Pilot episode of the show.
I had to come back.....Bobby is just UNBELIEVABLE in this performance. THEY all left it ALL on that floor!! But Bobby....is almost.????......exploding!!!!!!!!!!!!! DAYUM!!!!!!!!!!! OH!!!!! Watch them do 'JUSTINE'....where Bobby follows Bill...trying to get to the microphone Bill is holding!!!
Just spectacular. Make no.mistake.
It's like a vocal performance contest with no losers.
You're right. No losers, and the winners were the audience.
And we are still in the audience via RUclips nearly 60 years later, fortunately for us.

celestialskye1 - yeah, and bill medley, for a white guy put da s in soul here
Yes, I could not agree more.
Do you people always have to criticize?

Keb-mo told me all gods children got the blues.
I'm 79 year old white guy, loved them then so glad I can still enjoy them.
I am so happy that each of the Blossoms got to do a solo here, and all 5 of these singers are magnificent in succession.
100% Pure Sou!!! No gimmicks , no fillers, Only chills!!
And everyone is fully dressed! No "free flesh show" twerking etc. Respect for themselves and their audience.
This is one of the greatest soul records ever
ANYTIME IS THE " RIGHT TIME " TO LISTEN TO AND WATCH THE RIGHTEOUS BROTHERS.
this show was so far ahead of it's time in so many ways
I miss those Guys. Bobby Hatfield also had a great voice. RIP Mr. Hatfield.
Always want More of Bobby's singing! RIP 🙏 💖

This deserves way more views. Wow.
phennec. Cuz only stupid rap and makeup videos get higher views. This is an acquired taste with class acts.

If you love soul music. You gotta love this. WOW
Have mercy📣📣📣Straight up funky. Love me some Bill Medley and Darlene Love. Yes Ray Charles would approve of this cover of his fabulous song.❤❤❤
Wow! The Blossoms! Each one of them could be a solo artist. They brought it home!

Such pure, raw talent. Melissa Ward here.
Both groups were killin'it! 😯
That music had feeling & power called soul. Gee I really miss those days.
This is why they were known as 'The Righteous Brothers.'
"BLUE EYED SOUL"

Omg the Blossoms...whoa!!!!! Incredible!!!!
Love the Righteous Brother's, Bill and Bobby they are the best! Miss you Bobby, Bill is still performing in his 80's.
The best blue eyed soul!!!!!
Wow! I had thought Darlene Love was in the Blossoms and there she is! She's great n gorgeous to boot!
Wouldn't she and Bobby Hatfield made beautiful kids together? Oh my!

Wasn’t that when Bill wrote “Brown Eyed Girl”?

OUTSTANDING!!!!
If I have lineup correct, from left to right The Blossoms are Jean King, Darlene Love, and Fanita James.
Bill was getting it in,and more than one way to.🤣🤣🤣
Bill was so skinny! This song always reminds me of the Cosby episode where they did the lip sync on the stairs. Hard to believe he's in prison now.
Hard to believe Bill was only 5'3" and sang tenor until he was 15, when he shot up 7" in one year and gained that great bass/baritone voice!
A good band
Wow empezamos bien seguiremos asi veremos Jo Jo Jo
I love that!!!!
