I made a garden that made rain...misters in the trees the water coalesced on the leaves and came down in drops..I left areas that stayed dry, so that you could sit in it...a tin roof made music...

Have you heard of the three sisters? I only just heard a few weeks ago. Corn, beans & zucchini. The corn has tall sturdy stalks for the beans to climb & the zucchini covers the ground to keep the roots cooler also helps keep the water from the hot sun. I watched a video about what was eaten at the first Thanksgiving & the things & ideas that were likely shared by the Indians & Pilgrims!

I've watched most of the BBC coverage of the show, and though it was great, your ability to really connect with the creators of these gardens and displays makes me wish you could devote hours to covering the show. Meanwhile, here in Grand Rapids, Michigan, I think of you every day as I walk through my garden and think, "Stephanie would absolutely love these huge yellow peonies and lupines." I always enjoy the informed and enlightened input of Davy, he is so gifted. Thanks!

I’ve watched other programs on The Chelsea Flower Show but this was by far the best. You bring such joy and appreciation in your questions to all the designers and in describing their amazing gardens. My grandmother gradually went blind and missed seeing her garden. I can imagine her listening to this and imagining being there, enjoying it just as much as me being sighted. I was particularly touched by the uplifting & inclusive RHS Eastern eye community garden with Manosh(?) getting married there & the moving connection to his mother’s wedding dress, poetry, rainbows & his grandmother! Definitely a hug from nature for the children it’s going to bring joy to.

Stephanie - great vlog on the Chelsea Flower Show. At 28 mins in, I learnt something. I went to a Catholic wedding where an AfricanCaribbean married with IndianCaribbean, and there was a table filled with photos of deceased family members and friends ( including my sister in law, the groom's godmother). Now I understand that all these deceased people are blessing the newly wed. It's like chanting, " All you holy men and women, pray for us". This interview alone is what sets Stephanie apart from the rest!! Thanks.🎉

Love the idea of the edible/foraging garden for the schools. Food doesn’t only come plastic wrapped, but hopefully the kids will be actively taught also that some plants that look similar in the wild (ie for foraging) might not be the right ones (and toxic). They must be 100% sure before nibbling anything.

Wow Stephanie you are moving so quickly I cannot keep up with any live chats. LOL Love flowers and we have run out of room as we live in a rural village and do not now have even our two acres. My husband is now getting upset, and we are growing a little older and I keep wanting more and more and more plants! Take out my hose to water and he is upset over water bills! He is worried about my using too much of that lovely water so he will use a water pot and flower them! lol That is funny to me as you never could water everything with that. I must make sure my new babies stay moist. Some must have that too . LOVE flowers. Love herbs too. Guess it is time I do end it though. and must be thankful I can watch "you"! I will pretend whatever you have I am enjoying as well and that will be the flowers for the Sumer (besides what I have at home, of course as of yet anyway) I will need to settle down on water use, and try to be more understanding of the environment too. That can be very hard.
Loved watching this visit to the Chelsea Garden! Thank you!! What a grand European trip!

So many wonderful gardens, but I think what I love most of all is that each garden is for more than just beauty. They have a purpose, a message, or perspective that is so fun to discover. My particular favorite was the children's foraging garden.
I love to forage and I teach my friends kids about plant identification, safety, and conservation, and we get to sample different plants on our nature walks while also finding cool bugs and animals. They would have LOVED that garden!
