  • Plenty of tradition and handcraft-combined with high-tech, where it outperforms handcraft: That is NOMOS Glashütte. All our movements are built in-house and by ourselves in Glashütte. This also applies to our watches-Tangente, Orion, Zürich and all the other models-many of which are already considered classics.       fizboo nath There's lathe 0:19 & 1:20 , Laser engraving 2:30 , Sanding 1:03 , Tabletop CNC milling 0:32 and there might be elctroplating as well. This is as far as I can identify, no mech engineer here so I could be wrong lol
      I love watchmaking simply because something as calculated as mechanics is combined with something as subjective as art.

    Great! All the machine send to work on Mars without maintenance are conducted by electronics(computers) but what make them to work for years is flawless precision mechanics.

    We just enjoy so much discovering these fine machined parts for the watchmakers world so much, words are never needed as we feel that the machinist making of a fine component is an international shared language unto itself. Thank you for sharing with us.

    I love wristwatches and if I ever spend more than $2000 on a watch I'm definitely getting a Nomos. The Atlantik is especially exciting because I don't wear dressy watches and the Atlantik is a sport model and so beautiful!

    Laser job at 2:30 was AAAMAAAAZING! you guys definitely should try your skills at electronics manufacturing of integrated circuitboards with micro motoric mechanical circuits. people up there struggle with tiny peaces and would find great help with your skills.

    I have Rolex, Omega and Cartier in my watch collection but my Nomos Orion is always a pleasure to wear. One of my more accurate watches too.

    Well shot! There's no need to pollute tv screens with commercials. When an ad is trully well made, people will watch it again and again. And share it. And make compilations of it. And remember the brand.

    Watches are just beautiful. I have a small but growing collection of pocket watches and although I know I probably shouldn't, I can't help but take them apart and just watch it working, inspect all the pieces and admire the work put into it.
    Despite not being much into wristwatches, I need to get my hands on one from you guys! Thanks for the insight into this wonderful profession.

    The only reason I still don't have a NOMOS watch is that they don't have a chronograph yet. I want one in 3-6-9 three sub-dials, with an in-house movement, not modular, but an integrated one.

    And this is really why watches are expensive, cause to make this takes hours + the person who made the blueprintes, all this machines and the people who are working to assemble them. So yeah its really worth the money.

    Boy, All those tiny little parts would just make me so furious, I'm sure after 30 seconds of trying to put one of those watches together I'd end up just smashing the bucket of little parts and walking off lol
