Met some amazing people over the long weekend some i already call family and some became family !! Everyone made this what it was from the stall holders, firewalkers, re-enactments and the security provided by vikings mc biker group
Brilliantly set up and so much to do from fire walking, arrow breaking, axe-throwing, archery, Viking games, mead hall, war paints, the amazing sigil tattoos, blacksmiths, combat training, everyone that gave demos on old ways of doing things, birds of prey, live history villages
And to all the bands that played all weekend, truly some amazing sounds!!
As the sun went down the horns raised high as roars of skål erupted across the fields, the tress lit with magical lights as people honoured the gods with rituals and sacrifices
The beautiful fires burned all night and when the amazing story tellers came to life our hearts filled with adrenaline and blood filled story’s as the mead slowly but surly reached the bottom
Truly left a part of me there, see you all next year it’s been awesome 💙 skål

That's the first time I've seen Valhalah and Basingstoke in the same sentence.
I do living history in America, seven years war and Santa Fe Trail periods.
Clothing a bit different but looks like the same people all having too much fun👍

Brings back memories of when I used to do dark age reenactment with a group from Basingstoke. Would love to do it again but don't sadly I`m reliant on public transport and the nearest group is miles away. Thanks for the vid and the memories.

There is many clans still doing meet up for ceremony’s and gatherings all over the Uk, Facebook is a good place to find them
would be awesome if you included info like where it is and a website for ppl to get info about attending the next one.

What music is this?
Is this normal in England, that you only have just a few medieval tents but mostly Camping tents ???
Can I ask how much everything costs? I was looking at tickets for last year, but then was worried I'd not be able to take part in much because they would all need extra payments.
Axe throwing is on the website think it was fifteen pound for a good 40 minutes of throwing, drinks were £5 each, bottles of mead there were abround £25, food around £6/£9 depending on what you have, and all activity’s etc where workshop prices online, all in all not bud for a festival this size, plenty of good stalls also selling Viking stuff
