Gustaf Sarsgard is highly underrated for his performance as Floki. What I love most about his character was the passion he brought to every aspect of his life. Whether it was loving his wife, building boats, building a settlement or fighting in the field, Floki was passionate and acted without any second thought. It's fascinating to see a character that knows what they want in life and follows it to the end.
I completely agree with you.
the way he acts is kinda autistic, that's not an insult, he looks deeply confused by people, the way they are and himself, it reminds me a lot about myself and that's why he's such a great character.
Certainly not underrated by me. Skarsgard is the man! I hope we see Floki again before it's all over.

Everyone tells about Floki's behavior and laugh, but nobody tells, that he is an expert combatant. He survived in every battle.

Whenever I watched Floki's scenes, I never felt like I was just watching an actor go through the motions. When I watched Floki, he seemed alive, unpredictable, crazy at times. He will forever be one of my favorite characters from one of my favorite shows.

Floki is probably one of the most complex characters I’ve encountered. His character arc presented in this montage is undoubtedly filled with ebbs and flows of the human condition. We see the good, the bad, and the ugly through the eyes of a humble, loyal and selfless human being.
To witness the demise of such a strong entity to the show is-while quite depressing-very real and extremely compelling. It’s as if we are looking right into ourselves as a species in the mirror.
To a degree, we can say that Floki is a representation of the heart and spirit of the people of Scandinavia, more specifically of Kattegat. We see that he is somewhat treated like a god-continuously praised for his loyalty and selflessness, constantly being sought for presence among the people-to the point where that fine line of human existence and omnipresence is blurred.
Was floki just an illusionary portrayal of the spirit for the people of Kattegat? Was his disappearance a symbolic gesture of losing touch of one’s legacy, heritage, traditions, beliefs, morals and values?
These are fascinating questions that I continue to ask myself. Guess we won’t find resolve until the second part of the series finale.
His character for me was beautifully complex.
Floki is my warrior spirit.
There actually was a real Floki, who founded the first colony in Iceland. He was known as Ravn-Floki, because apparently he always travelled with three ravens. He couldn't have been as cool as how Gustaf Skarsgard portrayed him though! When I'm feeling a bit sad, I commune with my inner Floki. Such a powerful character.
Floki: The BEST character in the Vikings story. How can you watch it all and NOT grow attached to this awesome man of many talents?
Gustav Skarsgard: The BEST actor to play this part. No one could have come close to portraying him with such convincing acting, literally becoming Floki for us to watch as he grows and evolves. Yet more evidence that the Skarsgards are a powerhouse family of excellent actors.

I just realized Floki is that one uncle everyone loves the one who tells stories and laughs with everyone the one your father is closest to and your mother doesn’t mind but no one notices how he goes quiet when the crowd isnt looking at him how he stares at the sky seemingly lost how sometimes there is this unimaginable pain behind those eyes where you wonder what has happened but he quickly recovers himself and hides that part again to sip his drink or cheer you his nephew on………..

When series started I was an athelstains fan and hated floki after he killed athelstain but after all his change and character metamorphosis I started to sympathize with him . Now I recognise that he is one of the best Vikings character
I was glad he killed him. While I loved Athelstan and his character, the way Ragnar would always put him above his own faith and family got kind of annoying. I preferred Ragnar and Floki, not Ragnar and Athelstan.

2023 this still breaks my heart that it came to an end. The series was a masterpiece. Every individual actor played there roles with perfection. Especially my Floki. I fell in love with him. Everyone needs a Floki.
I love how by the end of the series he’s seen as a wise man among the tribes. Those who knew the younger man thought he was nuts. As an older man, he is revered.

Really? Floki loved Ragnar, definitely. Ragnar however, I don't feel he loved Floki. He used him. It was an abusive relationship. So many times I was screaming at the screen FLOKI JUST LEAVE RAGNAR HE ISN'T WORTH YOUR LOYALTY!!! In season 3 and 4 especially. It just made me sad.
I personally think the only people Ragnar loved (aside from himself) were Athelstan and his children. That's all. He was a very narcissistic character.

@@rickleblanc8900 I genuinely do not believe the battle sequence is real. I think that was the vision that Hvitserk, Ivar and the Rus have while they are planning their battle. The celebrations at the end? It wasn't victory celebrations, it was the final night of partying and drinking before they leave for battle. We will see the battle play out, and I have a feeling the outcome will be much different, at the start of 6B.

It saddens me so much how he lost everything he loved, he tried to do things the right way, but got played or humiliated. Floki is my hero. A weird person people are 'afraid' of. Not because he is insane, but honest and simple, slightly strange and hard to define. Floki sit and watches the world, figuring out how things work. Starts playing with 'Lego' because he dislike people and stupid questions, but when a child comes up and ask; "Why do You build Lego?" Floki answers, I will try to build something nobody has ever seen, that can take us places Nobody been. The clever kid would answer; "Can You do that?"
Floki answers; "Maybe? I don't know yet! -Do You want to help me finding out if we can?"

honestly the most relatable character ever, we try to enjoy the time we have on this world with the people around us, but as time goes on and one by one as we lose someone we love, life becomes much more of a hollow or empty feeling :,(
That part where you put the intense violin piece to the eruption / tremors with Floki screaming his heart out at the cross and the "show me who you are" was Beautiful. Really really loved this one.

Wow, I never realized how much I missed The Vikings, and just how much a role the character Floki played....I will shed no tears right now, but I will remember, and perhaps later, I might mourn. The Vikings was a truly memorable series, in many ways. I am truly grateful that the History Channel televised this, and that at the time, I had a cable subscription.
"Axe time, sword time, shields are splintered." Is a line from the Vôluspo; the ancient eddic poem in which the shade of a wise woman describes Ragnarok to Odin. Essentially he's alluding that he and the rest of the heathen army are the bringers of End Times for the english.
The problem with viking history... ...They killed everyone that could write... -hence, its difficult to scrape up history. Damn, I wish they had spared the monks, the only literate ones. Oh, well. -Can't have it all. (I don't know if I should add a /sarcasme...)

Floki is one of the most beautifully complex characters that ever existed. It is amazing the amount of development he has trough the seasons, how much he changed and how much he matured. And yet he kept all of that brilliant insanity trough it all. Gustav Skarsgard did more than an amazing job in portraying that god of a character. “He’s not a god” said Ragnar at the very beginning... well, I think he is as close as anyone can ever get.

One of my favorite characters of any series.
in the scene 6:19 you call see all sons saying all heil Floki, the only was who wasn't saying it was Ubba, the one who ended sitting next to him in the last scene of the serie. But that smile on his face, it never changed, i believe Ubba was the dreamer part of Ragnar, that's why he was looking at him with pure love and admired him, till the last scene, when he said it as his Father did, " Ilove you Floki" .

the man who cries, the man who laughs, the man who has nightmares, the man who has beautiful dreams, the one who kills, the one who loves, the man who destroys but also the man who builds, the man who betrays but also the faithful one, the man who talks a lot or who just keeps silent ..... a Floki lives in each of us, we just have to release him and give life to that Floki in us who wants to represent us ....

Finished vikings and I rarely cry, not let some tears out but cry when Floki was still alive after all this I'm glad I didn't forget this, I love him and many said he was similar to me but Floki is unique
Floki is a much more complex character than some people may think. He is not just a jester. He has gone through many different things and he has changed a lot. This video is a wonderful tribute to him. Great edit. Well done 👏❤
