Great question Hanny. Outliers are extreme values in a dataset. It can be an extremely low or extremely high value in a dataset that stands apart from the remaining values. For example if we take the age of eight 100 level students in a university and we have 10, 16, 17, 17, 17, 18, 19 and 37. If you look closely 10 years looks like an extremely low value and 37 years also look extremely high for 100 level age data. These abnormal values are called outliers. I hope this helps
