Man, I was thinking the same thing. Show shooter skill vs equipment. Not downplaying either of their skill levels, they both outshoot me on my best day.
Ya it’s a good rifle I’m pretty happy with mine. It just happened to shoot not so great this day but it has been doing fantastic in all the matches I’ve been shooting with it.
i have a Vudoo and a Savage Mark II BV which is the heavy barrel. My vudoo loves the SK Pistol. My Savage likes SK standard. I believe that on challenges like this, ammo consistency is the most critical variable (assuming wind isnt a huge factor). Niko, your shots seemed to all be left but the spread was significant. What ammo where you shooting. I think you can get better out of the savage
You’re right it does usually perform better, actually it just won a match a few days before we had this shoot. I’m not sure what the issue was still during this shoot tbh the wind wasn’t significant. I was shooting the same ammo I always shoot, SK long range. I think I just had a bad day here but nobody cares for excuses so I didn’t bother talking about it in the video lol
contests be what they be, targets in real life would not know the difference that they were shot with a more accurate rifle, both guns delivering close enough impacts, essentially on the mark, for any real world use. Here you have a mismatch of shooter skill and then comes wind doping, etc. The production gun is plenty of rifle for even an advanced shooter.
The Savage B22 would be a great great deal more popular in 22lr (and in my gun safe) competitive shooting if Savage would just fix both the God d**n m*##!!!**!n ejector and magazine problems I've seen B-22"s 1st hand shoot great groups for its price point but last I checked its plaqued with ejection and magazine feeding issues that are intolerable during normal shooting forget it in a match And just to brag a bit those fly targets are WAAAAAAY to big to be a challenge at 50 yards for my T1X and SK Pistol Match Special ammo and shooting at them with my B14R is so easy its kind of a waist of ammo My targets at 50 yards are usually .20-.25" in size
I’ve been shooting this thing in matches for the past year I’ve never had an ejection issue with mine, though ur right I have heard others have that issue… 12+ matches so far with this though and zero issues for me!
The initial groups with the Savage were horrible. I mean if you had just pulled it from the box and dropped a scope on it…ok, but my 1980’s, stock, 10-22 (I bought for $150) could have done better with the old 1994 $25 Simmons scope from Walmart it had on it. It’s a timed stage (roughly 6-7 seconds per target if you shoot all you sighters, so that adds stress, which leads me to a major criticism…you have an ATV right there, why the hell were you running to setup at 100? And the groups at 100 (I’m assuming those circles around the flies are about “dime sized”) were about what could put out with either my 10-22 or my Mossburg 151B.
Heck with your thumb there, thats at least a quarter sized circle. I want to see how my gun does, as is, although I will drop a better scope on it…probably an Athalon like have on my air rifles. Heck, my air rifle (Avenger .25 cal, somewhat tuned) has done groups like that a 100 with pellets in light wind.
Sorry to be critical, but my little Anschutz 1416 spotter can outshoot Andrews $6000 rifle and back when I bought my spotter it was only $265.00. When they were last sold, still only $1200.00. That too much money for so so shooting.
Had a Savage HMR and was very accurate but your efforts was a indication of poor accuracy in both rifles. As for the dollars v accuracy neither looked anything like value to me. If you guys compete and consider your selves competitive and think you have good enough gear you need to check out some other events and talk to some benchrest shooters at a higher level.
fellas I created this challenge for a friend with cancer. The least you could have done is paid him some respect and mentioned him. I can careless about not mentioning my channel or site.
Hey thanks for reaching out I had no idea about the origins as you mentioned! That’s awesome of you to have done that. I just seen a couple videos of it on RUclips must’ve not seen your original though. I will be adding that into the description for sure, can you also send me the link to your original that I can add into the description? Thanks!
Ok great I’m happy to include the shoutout in the description, again sorry I didn’t know where it originated as I didn’t see it from your video. Where did u send it?
@@OutdoorsAnonymous you know what, you are correct, I was a little to much, too serious, I was to much of an ash.. it is suppose to be fun, again you are correct, sorry.
The rigs are both very capable...it's the shooting ability that's the MAJOR factor here.
"WIND FLAGS! ... WIND FLAGS! ... WIND FLAGS!"
Take advantage of knowing & doping the WIND!
It would be interesting to round #2, you shoot each other's rifles at 50 & 100 yrds.
Yup that’s a great idea for a 2nd video of this!
Man, I was thinking the same thing. Show shooter skill vs equipment. Not downplaying either of their skill levels, they both outshoot me on my best day.
@@OutdoorsAnonymous did you ever do this?
Not yet, I’ve been away from home unable to make videos
Great video! I'm gonna try this challenge with some buddies. My tikka 22lr is pretty hard accurate 🤓
Thanks! Yeah it’s a fun challenge, let us know how you guys do after!
Excellent vid Nico! Love it!
Thank you sir! 🙌
Awesome. That sure looks hard! Good work.
Lol it def wasn’t as easy as it sounded on paper 😂 was a fun challenge though!
@@OutdoorsAnonymous Swap rifles to see if it's the worker or the tool.
That’s a good idea for the next video haha
I think the presicion targets, depends who is the shooting!.
Next time use the same type optic , that can also make a difference
Nice shooting. Were those ricochets I was hearing coming back?
It looks pretty windy. It doesn't take much to change the trajectory of a 22.lr. 😂 Especially at 100yrd+
What amo did you use? Your amo in the B22 didn’t shoot very well.
try different ammo in savage. mine didnt like sk at all try centerx or wolf target extra. sure was night and day difference in mine
Ya it’s a good rifle I’m pretty happy with mine. It just happened to shoot not so great this day but it has been doing fantastic in all the matches I’ve been shooting with it.
Seems like a lot of ricochets
Love this video and info
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the video and i appreciate you checking it out.
Nice place to shots
Did you guys used the same scope?

@@OutdoorsAnonymous 100 yards you looked pretty good. I enjoyed the video and will be watching more. Keep the good videos coming
Thanks you I appreciate that!
My friends savage is almost as accurate as my vudoo. Maybe a change of ammo and a better scope?
I don't think "time" starts until after sighters. I could be wrong.
We thought it’d be a bit more challenging counting the sighters in the 5 min limit.

I’ve shot similar groups out of my $350 Mk ii as a vudoo or cz. Once it goes to 100 though they leave me in the dust. It isn’t even close.
What ammo in your MKII ?
@@TADDs101 cci standards group very well out of mine at 50. They get pretty erratic at 100 though.
Switch rifles and do it again. Is it the rifle or the shooter?
That’s the plan for part 2!
I'd say the biggest difference isn't the rifle, it's the shooter's inabilities to make correction "on the fly" (is that a gun pun?).
Planning on making a followup video of this swapping rifles.
thats more like base class vs Open big difference
Yeah that was what we were goin for
Niko you need practice before. Going on air. Make sight corrections.
My marlin model 60 with a cheap no name scope will shoot better groups than the b22 in this video.
Awesome

Yup! SK long range match & SK rifle match!
Really enjoy watching this video, awesome!@@OutdoorsAnonymous
Awesome to hear glad you enjoyed it thanks man!! We did a 200 yd egg challenge too should be uploading next week!

Many people don't realize how far 100 yards is with a 22lr...now try 200.
We did 200 yd challenge too but with an egg 🥚 check out the video on that!
I hear a lot of ricochets.
His math wasn’t mathin
Hey fellas i believe i could beat that with a handful of rocks and one of my cz457s.

It’s ok being on RUclips you get used to the internets critique lol
should have switched weapons with eachother...
Yup that’s a great idea we will do a video of that next time!
buy a good airgun instead.
No kidding. I can keep a better group with my Avenger with Hades pellets.
I hit 21 at 50 and I thought that was bad well you know you need more practice. No legs and no wings just body.

You do not, do not count wings or legs. Try again, please. Also the target is not 11”x8” so your flys are bigger, easier target.
Why so serious it’s just a fun shoot out lol 😂 y’all need to relax

Embarrassingly inaccurate shooting with both rifles. My CZ 457 MTR shoots better.
Sick bro ur so cool!
