    I’ve not played gt since the 3rd game on ps2. Now I have PS4, and I’ve got my son psvr for Christmas. I’m so freaking excited...... only four more sleeps woohoo! Just need to convince the wife the living room would look so much better with a gaming wheel and chair....hmmm.

      Haha my Father is the process of making a DIY sim rig, we have the logitech g27 though and its not compatible with the PS4 so it looks like it'l be my job to buy a new wheel! Its exciting to see VR coming into games, not sure how well supported it is in GT though? Im not 100% sure but i don't think you can race online with the PSVR?

  • @jmbstudio6873

    If you brake early, as you suggest. you will get hit from behind and receive a penalty. The system thinks you are brake checking the guy behind you. You will spin off the track and lose your position....not the best advice. Brake as little and as late as possible, you should not finish braking before the turn, but you should finish braking while in the turn. In Sport Mode, strategy is key to success.

    • @iContrast
      @iContrast  6 лет назад +5

      You must use abs if you try braking while turning

    • @jmbstudio6873
      @jmbstudio6873 6 лет назад +2

      Not true. ABS will cause you to brake too early. Turn it off and you can brake later and stop faster. Practice "Trail Braking".

    • @fastone371
      @fastone371 6 лет назад +2

      Studio 68: Thats great advice but if racers need help with corner entry, apex, and exit I doubt they also know about trail braking and how important the timing is at full braking release and how much brake pressure to use. If your brake release is wrong it will probably slow them down more than it helps. Especially when switching cars, some cars like a lot of weight transfer while others not so much, you may have guys pushing up high in every corner. I suppose that makes them easier to pass though. :)

    • @iContrast
      @iContrast  6 лет назад +2

      I know what trail braking is i do it all the time, you only use trail braking for long corners though. For hairpins and short corner you want to stab the brake once and hit the power coming out. If you try braking while turning into a short corner you must be using abs otherwise you’d lock up if you’re still trying to stop the car.

    • @jmbstudio6873
      @jmbstudio6873 6 лет назад

      I dont use ABS. I dont think you fully understand trail braking. The inside front tire tries to lift, applying a bit of braking pressure keeps the inside front tire on the track. It applies to all corners. It takes brake pedal control.

      I don’t know how I just DO IT. I know how to turn sharply with the right tuning for my car, best braking points, how hard to break, and how hard you hit the gas while cornering. Cornering is my fovourite. Which car do you use?

    • @skyset_

      @@hammad3180 sounds like your getting a lot of understeer. Might wanna tune your car a little, change your brake balance, and turn off traction control. and with braking on corners, you want to break early, and then let go of the brakes with partial throttle.

  • @Zephreyer
    @Zephreyer 3 года назад

    @J Snaghera kinda like that, you can brake when you’re steering a tiny bit, brake before the corner then steer after

  • @juancastano5394
    @juancastano5394 5 лет назад +3

    I’ve had my traction control set to low level, on LMP cars which are the ones I like to drive. And when I hit a high end curb, I definitely loose control of my car and spin out. But it does improve cornering, but alters stability and acceleration response becomes unstable which leads to spinning and all that other crap. If you have low TCR or none with LMP cars you don’t really want to come in contact with the apexes, specially if you want to be at a decent position in lobby or “FIA”. I just quickly respond when turning. And a big misconception drivers have is that when you brake and accelerate at close times, you will take the curve faster. I’ve tried that and it just takes away time making the others get to you faster.

    Can you explain how abs off makes you faster? I'm not disagreeing , I just would like to understand how it helps

    • @cnmg7121
      @cnmg7121 6 лет назад +1

      If I may, ABS (and also traction control) make micro pulsations in the breaks, depressing and releasing dozens of times per second. Thereby, it will make you brake safer, because you can't lock the wheels, but in a practical way it makes you brake less. When you break with ABS weak or OFF it is you applying the breaks constantly. Strong at the beginning and releasing softly when the speed starts to decrease. This will allow you to gain some time per lap. Depends of the track though, I would use LOW or OFF settings in Brands Hatch, but never in a track like Monza in which I wouldn't benefit from this.

      MG Cano thank you very much!!

    • @iContrast
      @iContrast  6 лет назад +1

      Yea Cano pretty much explained it, only reason why you would want to use ABS and traction control is if you didn’t feel confident enough that you could be consistent without mistakes without using them, or else it restricts the maximum potential from both braking and acceleration. In some cases though it is understandable to use ABS and traction control if the car in real life uses it or if the car is hard to control and you just want to make the experience more enjoyable and competitive. You can visibly see your maximum potential of both throttle and brake input being restricted as a red bar will show the amount of input not being used and thresholding it at the white bar level.

    • @cnmg7121
      @cnmg7121 6 лет назад +1

      100% agree.
      A good game to learn to play with ABS off is Gran Turismo 6, with street cars (haven't tried in GT Sport to be honest). You can feel how when you depress the brakes without ABS you get control over the deceleration process, and when the speed goes down and the tyres start to cry is when you release gradually the brake pedal (trailbraking). Just this can used to give me at least 2 seconds per lap, if mastered (in GT6)

    • @EricVellekoop
      @EricVellekoop 6 лет назад +1

      Agreeing with Cano here. You went off the track and against the wall for a fairly long amount of time. That's against the rules, so you get a penalty, simple as that. Of course Gran Turismo won't pat you on the back for saving your car, you shouldn't be crashing in the first place. Recognize the mistake, that's all I mean.

    • @iContrast
      @iContrast  6 лет назад +5

      Getting a penalty for losing time and not causing harm is illogical. The penalty was not warranted, recognise that the games code isn’t perfect along with many other scenarios involving contact. In this circumstance it would not simulate a real stewards decision. There was no mistake in saying what i said.

    • @EricVellekoop
      @EricVellekoop 6 лет назад +1

      @@iContrast Getting a penalty for losing time and not causing harm is, indeed illogical. But that isn't applicable here. You got a penalty for going off the track, which GT probably saw as cutting the corner

    • @cnmg7121
      @cnmg7121 6 лет назад

      In real life you can't get off track or cut corners, there are sensors in the tracks and you get penalization. Instead of criticizing a system because you are not good enough, why don't you just train harder? Train hard, drive better, like the top guys. Other than that your videos are actually good, is the moaning what gets on my nerves.
