- Part 5 of 9 for completing the Halo 3 LASO playlist in the Master Chief Collection which will grant you the "A Preference for Pain" achievement.
Level - Floodgate
Difficulty - Legendary
Skulls - Skulls will automatically be selected when you select the Halo 3 LASO playlist. They are as follows: Black Eye, Blind, Catch, Cowbell, Famine, Fog, Grunt Birthday Party, Iron, IWHBYD, Mythic, Thunderstorm, Tilt, and Tough Luck.

I always thought the fog and the whole flood thing was super eerie when I played this as a kid. They definitely nailed down the atmosphere
Such a short mission, and one of the few I can complete in a single go without dying. I'm quite happy with progressing 2 missions on the one day, which also puts me past the 2/3 completion of LMCS :D 31/46

If you don’t do the forklift glitch like I did, it actually becomes an extremely tough mission lol
Getting past the section of the turret, ultras, focus rifle elites and needle rifle rangers is tough though
And the least part without the forklift glitch , like if it gets blown up...
Before you reply, I know he said "One of the easiest" but those parts of Nightfall are anything but a joke

Mercury Workshop bro me and my friend couldn’t get the forklift glitch to work and did the level normally and omfg that last section alone took like 2-3 hours...

Can't really say much other than this is by far the easiest mission in Halo 3 LASO, a nice little breather before The Ark and The Covenant, two Juggernaut missions, but nonetheless, sweet guide bro!!

my friend and i just rushed this level, we didnt stop at all, only had trouble with the final section.
we also somehow de-spawned the 2 carrier forms and the other enemies at the top of that ramp at 3:30. no idea how
Hey silver, can you put a guide on how to get the flipyap achievement? been struggling on it for a while. Also thanks for the laso guides it's helping me a lot!
Unfortunately there's no known consistent way to do it. I'd just recommend playing a ton of H3 campaign and always have the IWHBYD skull on to increase your odds. Totally random whether you get that dialogue or not.
load up sierrra 117 and just get to the second battle area and just pick off a few grunts every 10-20 seconds while staying alive. keeping other grunts alive around recently dead ones has a chance to trigger the dialogue. revert checkpoint if most of the grunts are dead
I remember refusing to play halo after this mission when I was 9, and coming back to the game at 13. Wow was this level easy when I went back to it.

You ever think about doing a coop laso guide?
Istg it’s like your so called “elite allies” want you dead more than the flood do when doing this level like they’ll throw grenades on you when you’re one hit melee killing the flood forms with the spiker
5:27 didn't really worked for me, maybe it's because Silver forgot to put mythic on, again.
Can you do more than 2 player LASO or is 2 the most?
You can do up to 4 players.

That was pretty damn easy. The last part gave a tiny bit of trouble. We were both moving forward to the end and we kept getting shot in the back.
Got around it somewhat with a bubble shield I had been saving. Tossed it before jumping to the ship wreckage. Got chased by a LOT of plasma-wielding Flood but once I dropped down in the hole after my partner they backed off.
Pretty easy. Don't bother firing in the very first area. Not until the hammer-wall section.
Oh and none of the elites survived for us. So they didn't help too much. lol
Hey silver so I've been doing Halo 4 lasso recently after just beating Halo 3 using your practice guide. but I decided to restart the mission composer and now whenever I try to reload into the level it keeps quitting and going back to the main menu. have you ever ran into something like this and have to restart the playlist.
maybe try to reinstall your game or delete your profile data from the console then go back into the game
joshua kincaid I’ve run into that during my reach laso run, it’s a bug, need to restart the mission NOT the playlist. You can sometimes fix it by changing the scoring settings before you load. Might take a few times though
@@Miada0814 that's what I'm saying though during the video I was doing a concussion rifle jump and then I spotted a beam rifle cuz I thought I didn't need the concussion rifle anymore to do any more tricks but then halfway through the video he's like oh yeah by the way you need a concussion rifle still which I was really upset cuz I had already gone too far at that point and got a checkpoint so I decided to restart the level but then when I restarted and saved and quit and tried to go back into the level it kept doing this weird glitch.
I once had the same issue in the Masterchief Saga Playlist. Load the playlist co-op with a second controller. The game asks you to restart at the beginning of your current level and then just accept. The game will load the mission normally now (anyway that was the case for me). When the mission is loaded, just quit again. Disconnect the second controller and continue the playlist once more. Again, you will be asked to start from the beginning of the level and, again, confirm the message. Now the mission should load correctly once more and you are running solo.
I did this mission without a guide yesterday by just running through the entire level and not firing a bullet
They’ve either made the mythic skull harder or you’re not playing with it on. These flood are eating my hammer blows. I am not getting the results you get
The mythic skull does NOT affect the flood in Halo 3, nor in any Halo game to my knowledge. It's actually a great skull to use to raise your score in flood centric levels, as it increases your score at no difficulty increase, in fact sometimes it helps you. I know in Halo 2 it actually doubles the health of allied covenant as well as enemy covenant, but I'm not sure about Halo 3 but it's possible it actually raises the health of friendly Elites, I would double check that though don't quote me on that.
You are probably struggling to use the Hammer efficiently, how close are you to the enemy? If you are slightly farther the range for the hammer drops off pretty quickly if you aren't right on top of them. Occasionally the Elite combat flood forms have shields, those ones are a huge pain to down they take a lot of blows even on Normal with zero skulls on, that may be part of it. The flood tank forms are also pretty durable, it's just the regular amount of health that they always have on Legendary.
