This is my reaction to Stevie Ray Vaughan's performance of Voodoo Child!
The original video can be found here: • #StevieRayVaughan, #V...
Need to check out Texas Flood by Stevie Ray Vaughan, mind blowing!!! Need to watch live at The El Macombo!!!
@B Gumm if you say it's mind blowing then I should definitely check it out
@@PiiClo Your really should...B Gumm is not lying it's mind blowing.
B Gumm I think he did it better I’m his tux and I don’t know where that was but it was crazy better and el na am o was bad ass to begin with . I think he upped that performance on the one I’m referencing .
SENSATIONAL..professional guitar player..singer..song writer..blue's player and singer..Stevie knew his way in life and what he would be at an early age..a legend is what he became and was taken from us so quickly..missing you Stevie..the band of Double Trouble is exceptionally great.
Will never be another like Stevie
Agreed fam!
You are witnessing the one and only srv he was truly amazing everything he touched was a masterpiece goat
That's true fam🙌🙌definitely in his own lane
Everyone remembers their first time...
Dude I love your reply. So fitting for channels of this sort.
El macambo was the best version!! Always do Stevie Ray live!
If you say it's best to listen to SRV's Live performances who am I to disagree fam!
Tokyo and nashville live reactions want a word with you
@@09benditt care to elaborate fam?
PiiClo while the whole el mocambo performance is likely the best of Stevie, i think voodoo child is one of the songs where he didn’t go all out.
Maybe just a personal opinion but in Nashville and Tokyo, Stevie went completely nuts and I just prefer those performances.
Loved ur reaction lol especially the link to song title and throwing bones 😂 Yes he certainly was a high priest of the guitar 💞 RIP SRV - never ever tire of listening to this and any others, great voice too 🥰
Hahaha, I still say too much voodoo in that performance Thank you very much fam😊
Jimi composed it and Stevie Ray covered it better than anyone else could.
Stevie purposefully twanged the guitar along with his singing in verse 1, giving the impression that he and the guitar (which he'd nicknamed his "first wife" 😁) were singing in duet. The wah-wah pedal used to be Jimi's and was a gift from Jimi's father.
Welcome to the SRV fanclub!
This song is Voodoo Child Slight Return, a shorter version of the original Jimi Hendrix song (both the long version and slight return) on Electric Ladyland album. Stevie definitely does it justice!
I have not heard Jimi Hendrix song ,but I'll listen to it ,but regardless Stevie killed it....I mean my neck almost broke haha
I was fortunate enough to see him in 84 when I was stationed in Norfolk. was a big fan of his since the late 70's in my teens. Nice to see such great reactions from younger generations, of his music from back in his era!!! thank you!
No thank you😁, such great music just glad someone suggested him to me.
Texas Flood and Little Wing live at El Mocambo! Must watch! Live changing!!!
Don't tempt me fam!
And Lenny, El Macambo
PiiClo Too late!! Lol
@@RMLtiger 😆😆🤣🤣
I love your comment, "I don't normally listen to blues, but will more now." Stevie grew up playing in Dallas Blues Bars. He started when he was like 14-15.
😐😐thanks goodness he started young as we could listen to great music
On one of your other posts (which I can't find now) you stated you grew up listening to jazz. Have you heard of or listened to the Grateful Dead? Their not a jazz band, per se. I would call them a jazz band that played Rock/Jam band/blues.. At one concert a song would be 6 min. the next night the same song would be 15 min. Very improvisational. In fact, they even had sax legend Branford Marsalis &
Bruce Hornsby (Grand Piano) sit in concerts multiple times. You should check out below. Blessed Bee

As I've stated before, what alot of people didn't/don't realize are the strings he had to play with because of his style were a step below steel cables. There are/were alot of great guitar players but SRV # 1 !!
Lee Hill I remember you touching on that and honestly I respected his skill even more
Texas Flood next please! 👍🏻
Got you fam🙂
React to SRV Texas flood live el Mocambo
I'm jumping on it Today fam say no more
I liked your reaction. You enjoyed it without too much interference. SRV, my favorite guitarist of all time. For variety try Led Zeppelin, When the Levee Breaks, studio version.
Thanks for the feedback fam. Will jump on it fam.
Take one listen to that guitar player and it tells you everything you need to know about Stevie Ray. .
That guitar player has been playing *HARD* for 16 hours a day. . 7 days a week. . Every day for 15 YEARS to sound like THAT. . .
The man truly WAS a "Voodoo Child". . . a full brother to Jimi Hendrix. .
Stevie was mind-blowing, but Double Trouble gave him a rock solid base to soar over!
Guess I should check it out then fam🙂
He's the greatest
Haven't seen it mentioned here, but the song is a cover of the Jimi Hendrix song. Jimi was another other-worldly guitar player who was a big influence on SRV. If you aren't familiar with Jimi's work, I'd recommend the album Axis - Bold As Love.
seriously thanks for taking the time six more subs coming on board
I try to keep my word😂🤣most od the time, it's no problem Sir
R.I.P. SRV
R.I.P to Him fam
Prince was a great player as well .check it u will love it .
Thanks fam I'll check it out🙂
There is a video out there where he plays this song and Texas Flood behind his back.
Behinds his damn back! 😳thanks for letting me know fam
TEXAS FLOOD , live at the El MaCombo is a great SRV listen.
I'm huge SRV and Jimmy Page fan you need to checkout more rock blues.
@ghadley I definitely will fam seems like i missed out on a whole genre in my childhood.
He was a TEXAN
In response to your comment about his singing - he managed to exactly match the sound of his voice to the sound of his guitar, not for note, which is an extremely difficult thing to do. It's also worth noting that SRV used mainly 13 gauge strings, which are like telephone wire compared to the 'normal' stings used, which are around 9 or 10 gauge. Those 13's can rip your fingertips apart unless you have the strength to 'bend' them, which is one of the things that gave Stevie his unique sound.
Geeeees!!! That sounds extreme, the sound was/is definitely unique and soothing to the ear but risky to use, thanks for the insight fam and Sharing your thoughts
@@PiiClo I've seen numerous guitar players comment about it. Eventually he dropped down to 11s, which are still pretty hard to bend to the frets. Supposedly even he had to use superglue on his fingertips during/after a lengthy show.
I was at Stevie's last concert st Alpine Valley where his helicopter crashed and he was killed. This man was just amazing
SRV Texas Flood live and Eddie Van Halen Eruption solo live.
Thanks for requesting Fam, I'll jump on Texas Flood Today
He IS the Witch Doctor. ☮️
😂🤣thanks for the confirmation
Great reaction!!!
Thanks a lot fam🙌🙌🙌
Playing for a change..the weight
Playing for a change..higher ground
Playing for a change..all along the watchtower
If u haven’t seen any of this u should
Oh lordy!!! Ac/DC, METALLICA, LED Zeppelin, MEATLOAF etc.
Thanks I'll definitely check them out fam.I've only heard of LED Zeppelin though I've never heard of any of his songs
There's a saying that Man created the Stratocaster guitar, but God created David Gilmour to bring it to life. Stevie Ray was born with the damn thing in his hands, it was just another part of his body. When SRV got to the Crossroads, the Devil just sat down and cried... Eric Clapton once said that he could only listen to one or two of Stevie's perfoamances at a time, or he'd just give up the guitar.
He was truly gifted. Wow and Proof od Eric's comment cements how good he is!!! Thanks for sharing your thoughts fam
@@PiiClo he was also the most humble guy there could be, and simply loved to jam with all the blues guitarists that he considered to be his own heroes. Keep checking out his videos and you'll see a lot of that. BB King once said , "To be a blues player you have to be black - twice! Unless you're Stevie Ray." Who he sometimes called his 'White Son.'
Jamba. SRV was a music spirit, impish demon.... for some a divine being. In any case this cover may share being the best ever version of Voodoo Chile along with the Hendrix original.
He was not into witches. He was an alien.
Out of this world fam
this is a cover of a Hendrix song
Of course it was. Hendrix’ best was his otherworldly studio recorded version. He tried but never matched the quality of it live.
SRV’s studio version on the other hand, wasn’t his best effort. His live versions kept improving
Thanks for the insight fam,appreciated
The BEST cover of this song !
This a cover of Jimi Hendrix.
Seated and playing a steel slide guitar is the only instrument in which the bridges are higher. SRV played the highest bridges for standup guitars, of anyone. Also, he played 13 gauge strings which were cable coax in comparison. All of his guitars were setup the same and gave him callouses on his finger tips. They were very difficult to bend for even the slightest sound. THAT, is what gave him the deep bluesy sound he was looking for and mastered.
The best by test, second to the rest!
@Robbin Perers Thanks fam for the insight, me not knowing much about guitars especially a steel slide guitar has made me appreciate the SRV's skill even more.
\
Ha! They say the guitar took out a restraining order after this assault.
Hahaha, on scale that was a brutal assault
I agree with B Gumm, listen to the flood........you better be sitting down Dr G
Is there any footage of SRV playing a out side concert
:) diversity young man LOL thanks Piiclo ps glad you didnt strain your neck on the runs LOL thumbs up
Hahaha I almost did Grant, honestly I didnt expect the runs
Think you were impressed by this extra special guitarist, Thought I had seen them all, But Man! How wrong can one be ?. He blew me away in every sense of the word, What a loss to the music world.
I was and still am😁😁,I had no idea something like Blues Rock existed and wow was a glad that someone requested it and Stevie Ray as the artist
This dude looks and sounds like the Chocolate Rain guy!
Lmao had to check out who that was
@@PiiClo I'm old.... Sigh
Hi Fam I Reacted to SRV - Texas Flood Live At El Mocombo though it got blocked due to copyright.
@methehappyone That's the one I reacted to fam, I'll try another one
How do you not know Hendricks? SVR. Is the GOAT!
sorry your Stevie ray Texas flood got blocked have to pick a secondary recording of the song not an original DEVO or what ever otherwise copyright infringement is probable or pause and comment enough to be annoying LOL anyway an extra view here lol
hahaha, funny enough in the video I said,'This song is so fire that I wouldn't be surprised if I got a copyright claim' and it happened, but had no choice everyone requested Stevie Ray Vaughan - Texas Flood (from Live at the El Mocambo) lmao
@@PiiClo was not meant to be funny I really am sorry I know the time and effort it takes sometimes any way appreciate the attempt but I did tell you he would get you hits and subs just keep doing what your doing you will be fine
@@GRANTTRIBECreates Thanks alot fam this is much appreciated and you were right🙂🙌
Weebo? Is that you man?
I don't know who weebo is but sorry man im not him lol
You think this was good ? TEXAS FLOOD is even better .
I definitely agree fam it is by a mile unfortunately my reaction of Rexas flood was blocked.
Dude if you don’t know about this stuff stop talking until it’s over with now and then give your opinion you’re interrupting a beautiful thing not cool with all due respect
Respect your comment fam
NEVER pause a music video ESPECIALLY a SRV. You turn off a lot of would be subscribers. You should watch then give your opinion. Sorry, but I give u a thumbs down due to this. And will not be subscribing.....
@Beverly I respect your comment and it's appreciated but part of pausing and sharing an opinion is to also avoid a copyright strike while avoiding cutting songs and pausing alot.
