    Great review. You forgot to mention their amazing carabiners LOL. I just ordered 9 more. I love my Ibex system. It's so smooth, easy to use, has 1/1 ratio, doesn't have any extra cable dangling (which is sometimes a big no-no when you have a defiant cat), and the upper arm attachment is simply perfect for any high pulley exercises. Mine is installed on a 6 posts 80 inches PR5000 rack. I have a lat pulldown (Rep) but love to use my Ibex, and it doesn't take any additional depth (unlike the REP lat pulldown which imposes restrictions on attachments/exercises: the perfect example would be the dual VTS lite smith I have installed that can only be used on the middle uprights but is constantly in the way of the lat pulldown and the bottom pulley). I'll eventually try to tweak the lat pulldown (weight stacks) and make it fit on a cross-member being pulled by a 1/1 Dialed Motion system.

    • @TheJungleGymReviews
      @TheJungleGymReviews  2 месяца назад +1

      They are very nice carabiners! There are so many cool thinks about this systems it's really hard to do it all justice in a consolidated video.
      Yeah all around it's such the perfect plug and play system to any rack, and then on top of that it is so smooth and the 1:1 is nice. That also funny you mentioned trying to integrate the existing lat stack like I have into the dialed motion system, I am thinking of doing something similar but still TBD. I am wondering if I can find weight stack and guide rods for the rack and then just use the dialed motion on each side hooked to it like an Athena from REP. I get lazy over time with the plates on and off and am for sure spoiled since all my equipment is selectorized these days

      @@TheJungleGymReviews I was able to order more stuff from Dialed Motion. I got one extra pulley and their carabiner AND threaded adapter. FYI, the threaded adapter does not work with REP's weight stack as the thread ratio doesn't match (they should really remedy to that and make multiple sizes available). I planned on tweaking my lat pulldown but decided to use both systems. Instead, I got rid of the REP stabilizer (the U shaped crossmember) and the low row plate. I ordered two ''small logo'' crossmembers, both are attached on the back uprights. I anchored the same cable on the low crossmember with a Spud Inc pulley and doing so I gained 1 foot of depth within my rack, which is a MAJOR improvement. On the top crossmember I attached a IKEA mirror. I now have a Lat Pulldown system that doesn't take much space, and the Dialed Motion system, giving me 3 pre-connected anchor points. You could still connect Dialed Motion to your weight stack but you will need at least 3 pulleys (not counting the last pulley that feeds the carriage), and you'll have to find a way to anchor the cable retractor directly on top of the weight stack in a way that doesn't use too much space or else it will limit your range of movement (a compatible threaded adapter would remedy to that...). The other option is to replace the low row cable with the Dialed Motion retractor and then have it fed to the carriage on an upright, giving you both an adjustable pulley AND a Lat pulldown. Whatever you decide, I highly recommend to switch the stabilizer to a compact logo crossmember (I literally gained 12 inches).

    • @11_of_Spades
      @11_of_Spades Месяц назад

      If you live in the USA, don't go with the Spud Inc Pulley but get something like the low pulley from Titan (bolted). Syl Fitness has a similar cheaper pulley (I'll eventually do the switch)

      With that being said, it’s so smooth, it doesn’t really add any footprint, and it’s cheaper (and better quality) than a standalone dedicated of equivalent price range - so I definitely agree it’s a good option.

I wanted to get the product in hand before making a second order, but doesn’t look like that will happen. Do you think the second ibex would be worth it? Are there enough exercises that utilize both sides to make it worth it or can I get by with just one side? Would love to know how you’re using yours the most. Thanks!

    • @TheJungleGymReviews
      @TheJungleGymReviews  4 месяца назад +1

      @zthellman good question I thought about this yesterday. I think what you ordered in a single Ibex with lat arm has the best bang for buck. You’re asking for the cable column vs. functional trainer argument now. I like dual cables for chest fly and having variations for pressing movements. You can also attach a bar attachment between the cables for all sorts of creativity.
      That being said, even in my training I’m about 70% one side only and 30% both. For me, I’ve always had a functional trainer and I’m in it for the long run so would rather have it. But it’s totally preference and budget

      In regards to the pulleys and the lat arm, yes you can 100% move them lower. I assumed most people wanted the "standard" configuration at the top of the rack but since the pulley and the lat arm are side mounted so you can use any hole in the rack for either, you just lose the little bit of height of the lat pulldown/ROM and therefore also the pulley carriage will sit below that as well. But it will totally work so you have options to your hole in the ceiling ha

    Hey great set up and video! What is the height of your rack, and what is the length if the cable travel? I’m trying to decide which system will work better for my rack, the ibex or the sidewinder…I have a rogue 72” hr-2. I’m mainly concerned with the length of the cable travel since my rack is so short.

    • @TheJungleGymReviews
      @TheJungleGymReviews  Месяц назад +1

      Thank you so much! the height is 100 inches tall but I have a crossmember at 93 inches for lat pulldowns so thats the max height the Ibex can travel. Additionally because of the pepin fast series dumbbells, I actually mounted the ibex trolley at around 30 inches or so from the ground, which still gave me about 5 feet or so of travel on each side which is PLENTY. Unless you do any single sided movements where you need to be more than 5 feet away from the rack, the Ibex is perfect, and I would argue 1.) more compact than the sidewinder and 2.) I know for a fact it is super super super smooth. you can't go wrong with either but even on a 72 inch rack you should have enough cable travel.

    • @TheJungleGymReviews

      The main difference is the patented cable retractor mechanism itself. It can fit on any rack. The bully glider is just the trolley system whereas this features the cable retractor which is side mounted on the rack. so the combination of that retractor + the trolley is what makes this system great.

      it was originally 1 inch over the top of the flush top beams height, but as someone corrected me, you can install it on any holes, meaning you can move it to the second one down from the top of the upright then the height is less than your rack if that make sense, but obviously the tradeoff is lose one height hole overall, but a decent tradeoff!

    Great review man. Really want to add one to my home gym set up. Does the upper lat arm add any height to your rack? Also, looks like the cable comes down the rear pulley of the lat arm for the side that it is on, when you're using the trolley. Had and issues with the cable rubbing on that portion of the lat arm?

      Thank you, and now I can confidently say, I highly recommend it. I actually may consider selling my dedicated functional trainer just to save space because this is that good…
      Lat arm is the same rack height addition of 1 inch - sorry if that wasn’t clear in the video!
      And No rubbing whatsoever, the pulleys and cables are all on the same axis as each other so no weird rubber or anything is possible unless your rack is somehow out of alignment by like 1 inch from left to right (which I don’t think is possible due to crossmember bolts being on center) . The pulley inside the lat arms is also the same vertical location as the one on the other side, just hidden under the lat arm faceplate/shroud

      Interesting enough I tried it out at Home Gym con and James & Leland about the height of the lat arm. You can bolt it lower on the rack if your rack is super close to the ceiling. You just lose a little bit of travel.

    • @TheJungleGymReviews
      @TheJungleGymReviews  4 месяца назад

      @roberttaylor8514 I didn’t even think about that but you’re completely right because it’s hole dependent as long as no other bolt holes from pull up bars or something get in the way. I assume most people want it to light up to the pull up bar which means it would go top of the rack. Great point though for people to consider!

    Does the trolley feel unbalanced if you only load one side?
    If not you can save even more space by removing the outer weight horns and just loading all weight on the inside of the rack

    • @TheJungleGymReviews
      @TheJungleGymReviews  4 месяца назад

      That’s a great question I tried to show in one of the clips but didn’t articulate. Yes you can load one side only because the trolley/rollers distribute the weight evenly throughout the trolley frame/roller bearings on both sides. I’m sure that if you got to extremely heavy weights like 300LBS on one side, it might start to drag a little bit there are always limitations and physics ha. But I compared personally like a 90 LB difference between the two sides with no noticeable difference

    • @Mench951
      @Mench951 4 месяца назад

      I got the Ibex during the first pre-order. Dialed motion specifically designed the trolley so that you only need to load one side and it won't feel unbalanced. I almost never use both weight horns on each trolley (the only reason to do so is if you're running out of space on the one horn and want to load more plates). Interestingly I do the opposite of what you're suggesting. Since my plates are loaded on storage weight horns on the outside of my rack, I use the outer weight horn on the trolley because all I need to do is unload a plate from a storage horn and then slide it on the outer horn of the trolley which is right in line with the storage horns. Hope this helps.

    • @11_of_Spades

      The Bully Glyder is simply amazing. The only thing is it doesn't come with a cable retractor, unlike Dialed Motion. Which means you can't easily adjust it for different exercises, as they sometimes require the pulley to be high or low, and the cable length will be different for each exercise meaning you will never be 100% comfortable or well positioned. I have the Ibex, Bully Glyder and Dual VTS lite. The Ibex and Bully Glyder are superior than the VTS lite in terms of ''rolling performance''. If I could, I would trade my VTS lite for a second Bully Glyder and I would simply switch my barbell with the Bulletproof latch/hooks from the dual VTS to the dual Bully Glyder.

The Bully Glyder is very easy to install, ultra smooth and super stable. The Bully Glyder is superior to the VTS Lite system (IMO). The only downside: it's not ''adjustable'', which means you are limited on the exercises you can do because the cable length is fixed. By using a dual pulley I could have a cable attachment point high (triceps exercises), and one low (biceps, low row etc...). Dialed Motion nailed it with their retractable cable, removing the need of a ''DIY'' non adjustable system.
