1 Year Review of the $1500 Walmart Stair Climber (BalanceFrom/Signature Fitness)
The BalanceFrom/Signature Fitness stair stepper aka. “The Walmart Stair Climber” is one of the cheapest stair machines on the market today. I’ve owned it now for over a year, using it 4-5 times every week, and it’s still going as strong as it was on day one. At the time of posting this video, it’s still sold and shipped via Walmart.com and now even Amazon, for approximately $1500. The price per functionality of the machine cannot be beat and I highly recommend this stair climber for anybody looking for a budget friendly cardio option for their home gym or light commercial setting.

Signature Fitness Rowing Machine Review - A Budget Concept 2 Alternative?
Просмотров 854Месяц назад
The Signature Fitness Rowing Machine for $300 on Amazon had all the potential to be a cheap but functional alternative to the Concept 2 RowErg. However, in dramatic fashion, this rowing machine failed to live up to even the minimal expectations that I hoped for it. The overall design, fit, and finish was acceptable for the price point but the machine quickly broke and was rendered useless despi...

      Unfortunately, I don’t think you would be able to get it upstairs since it’s so heavy and awkward to carry, but as you mentioned, I would also imagine the stepping on the stairs at higher speeds of the stair climber would be loud enough for neighbors to hear. Not ridiculously loud but still probably loud enough.

    Can you use wrist straps/versa grips with these? I have powerblocks and it is too tight of a fit to use either with them. Curious is those side bars will make it too difficult to get a good grip

    • @TheJungleGymYouTube
      @TheJungleGymYouTube 21 день назад

      That’s a great question and the answer is straps yes, versa grips kinda. In my experience versa grips on both hands you have to rotate your wrists alot to “roll them under” a bit more and that’s when you do hit the cage, but if you are doing one arm rows for example and have a free hand it makes it easier to tuck. Straps were just fine with both hands just have to use a shorter area to tuck them under your hand due to the bars. Hope this helps.

    My general philosophy with budget versions of expensive things is that it has to be mostly free of “this will break in a month” reviews online. And it must not cost more than 20% of the quality version. Because I basically see it as a trial version of the object. If I use it for several years then it warrants me buying a lifetime quality version. But nobody should spend $5500 on a leg press machine only to find they never use it. so buy the $1000 version first. But if you’re gonna spend $300 on a $900 item I’d rather just save up for the lifetime purchase. unless the reviews online say it’s just as good. But when that happens the price gets jacked up way beyond 20% of the name brand anyway.

    • @TheJungleGymYouTube
      @TheJungleGymYouTube Месяц назад

      That makes total sense and is honestly great advice to people equipping their gym on any budget, unless money is literally of no object! I fell into “trial” category with the stairclimber and the leg press I bought. The stairclimber has lasted a year and I’ve been using it a ton so if it ever breaks I know paying more would be worth it.

      Hey there, I have a RUclips Shorts video on my main channel that goes over that setup in more detail. Regarding your second question, I can’t speak to that question since I’ve only ever mounted completely horizontally. Q&A: 1. Do these make noise during movement like snatch-to- overhead? I'm not a fan of noisy dumbbells. I've got Core Fitness now, and they're louder than I prefer. 2. Considering any noise in previous question, how much noise does the smaller weight increment attachments make? 3. Can the add-on 1.25 and 2.5 lbs be added onto each side of the hand to balance out the weight? 4. Do you have a link or more info on the NUOBELL upgrade? Given that I've got to switch weight rapidly, a twisting action of the wrist might be best...I just don't want to concern myself with NUOBELL breakage.

    • @TheJungleGymYouTube
      @TheJungleGymYouTube 2 месяца назад

      1. I will say for movement with normal speeds they are silent, if you are throwing them/moving them really fast/changing gravitational direction quickly then they will have some noise. This is a byproduct of the interlocking weight plates which need some small tolerances in order not to stick 2. The weight increments don’t make any noise because they are “locked” in via a spring pin rather than interlocking like the normal weight plates 3. Yes, they only come in pairs so you put 1.25 on each side for a total of 2.5LB increment and same for 2.5 each side for 5LB increment, so it is completely and evenly balanced. 4. Sorry I am not familiar with Nuobells new upgrade/design but I think GGR just did a recent review, hope you can find the info you are looking for there

    Are you able to do a two-handed overhead tricep extension or do the side supports get in the way? Or are the side supports comfortable enough to hold to perform this exercise?

      The side supports actually make it much easier to do this exercise and also hammer curls because in both exercises the side supports allow you to use a neutral grip so it’s actually more comfortable than a traditional dumbbell fitting both hands around the dumbbell head
