I would love to see Shujinko make a return. Even as a cameo or perhaps in the story somehow. Something about the wise master aesthetic he has just does it for me. I love his mantis style and I think he’s a much more grounded replacement to Bo Rai Cho (whom I also love don’t get me wrong)

The great kung Lao would be a good character to play as. He’s probably the most overlooked character in the whole mk history as being playable. With this reboot it’s a good time for him to make a return

Ashrah has a very interesting design, great story line and moveset. Taven has great personality and he's half God which is already very intriguing.
Movado is one of the rumored Kameos if Hsu Hao is in he is most likely also a Kameo because so far nobody from the Dragons are playable. But I love Hsu Hao's Sun/Moon blades and if he is in there make that his main fighting style. Personally I don't think he needs to change. Also Nitara will be a lot of fun and fits the revived air combat feature in this game.
I'm more interested in what the story ends up being because depending on the story we could see all sorts of different characters. One idea that I think would be pretty cool is if we had multiple realm mergers where instead of just Outworld merging we get multiple realms merging which would increase the pool of fighters available for the different realms. I mean according to the lore there are thousands of realms with 6 well known and few obscure that were merged with Outworld so seeing something where the 6 well known realms have begun merging with the unnamed and obscure realms would be pretty interesting.

I want Havik and Drahmin to return in MK 1 I believe Havik is a lock to return as a playable character which is great but as for Drahmin sadly I don’t think he will return as a playable character but I definitely see him as a Kameo Fighter which I’ll take honestly

My idea for Motaro is that in this new universe, Motaro side with earthrealm ( with bad intentions but pretends to be good ) to basically kill all of Shokan. This is because in past tournament, all of Shokan declared war on them. They basically said "Whoever lost ( between Shokan and Centaurian ) in Mortal Kombat would be eradicated from the world and indeed the Centaurian lost but was save by Fire God Liu Kang but illegibly they can't compete in the next tournament. So, one Centaurian ( Motaro ) remove his hind legs to disguise just to be in the tournament so he can get the freedom of his people

With King Jarred dead Shang Tsung has been “whispering poison in General Shao’s ear convincing him that he alone (Shao) is the only one who can save Outworld” (Liu Kang’s words to Li Mei in the story before Reiko & Motaro with troops surrounds the carriage Liu Kang & Li Mei are riding in). And we also see Khameleon in the story so she’s probably a kameo character

I really got into ferra/torr, (I know you said no characters from mk10.) Mk definitely had a missed opportunity I'm mk11 for ferra to have her own mini dude on her back. Having a master/blaster themed cosmetic is another missed opportunity.
I read that as a Master Blaster theme cosmetic which made me think of the game Blaster Master. So for a brief moment I pictured Ferra dressed as the Car from that game
