- Over Mortal Kombat's 30-year history, there has been many characters that have been pushed to the back of the line consistently when it comes to making another appearance as a playable main roster character. Here's 50 that have never had that honor and will never.

@@kingvidster5637 people hate him because he didn't do much in the story and he got added instead of whatever character they wanted from a previous game. I guarantee he's gonna get the same treatment all of the 3d era characters are getting right now where people trash on them after their first debut but beg for them to come back after they've been missing for over 10 years. Sucks though he wont be in mk1, he was one of my favorites in 11.

Kollector was pretty much just a jobber in MK11. He didn't even have much of a backstory to him.
I disagree with a few of these. Hydro and Tasia could absolutely get the Tremor treatment. And honestly I could see Kia, Jataaka, Asgaarth, and No-Face returning maybe as Kameos some day

I don't really see how Hydro could fit in, the name itself already depicts what abilities he uses (water, obviously water), and Rain fills that spot.
Although perhaps Hydro is capable of becoming the Cyber-Rain, who knows.

Honestly of the 4 you mentioned Asgaarth is the most deserving of a second chance. From the Brotherhood of Shadow trio I believe Sareena is much more deserving and from Black Dragon extended lore we already got Tremor.
As a kid, I appreciated MK Conquest and MK Defenders of the Realm as those shows kinda framed themselves as being in- universe with the 1995 MK film and 1997’s MK Annihilation. Both shows- Conquest and Defenders of the Realm helped to expand on things not properly addressed in the 2 movies.
I'd like to see Art Lean, Chan, Monster, Cole, Hydro, Fire god, Tasia, Hakim, Kia and Jataaka as kameo fighters.
Would be cool to see Oniro, a shape shifting ninja/lin kuei could have an interesting set of combos and special moves.
I'll be honest I forgot about all of these obscure characters except for Art, Cole and Monster.
Art Lean had more personality than Cole Young. The should have had him in the remake.
Never say never who would have ever thought that Darrius would be back.

Considering Baraka references Asgaarth in mk1, I can see him at least make a kameo in a dlc expansion. Would be wild if he becomes playable.

Some of these characters could fit perfectly in Mortal Kombat’s story or future games.
We need Vorpax as a playable character!

1. Jola: It would be nice to expand the Red/Black Dragon mercenary clans members identities.
2. Duroc: Could be cool to see Duroc returning and create conflict on Goro and Sheeva.
3. Kia and Jataaka: They look interesting, but they are too similar to Sareena.
4. Anhka and Kiri: Reptile is a cool character, so seeing more Zaterrans in the roster could be nice (with a better design tho).
5. Zaggoth: There's not much mention of the other realms aside from Netherealm, Out World and Earthrealm, so more important characters from other realms would be nice.
6. Cassar: All the ninjas (except for Scorpion) in the game are (or were) from the Lin Kuei, so more representation from the Shirai Ryu could be interesting (it doesn't have to be Cassar specifically).
7. Oniro: He looks like a genuine cool character, he could bring back the Animality idea, but as a character.
8. Hydro: A fan favorite in the MUGEN games, so make him a reality already.

Apep was Shujinkos Friend in Mk Deception Konquest Mode. I wish they remet later in the Konquest Mode

1. Cameos definitely don't count as playable and Shujinko isn't on the list.
2. That is not the same Tomas. It legally can't be. Netherrealm doesn't own the rights to any of the MK Conquest exclusive characters.

I loved Conquest. May have been cheesy as hell, but so much fun to watch as a kid. Would've been nice to see at least some of the characters from the show mentioned in games
That ending was unbelievable. Did you read the transcript for what would have been the first 2 episodes of the 2nd season had it been renewed. We would have got the introduction of Fujin and Baraka. Fujin was tasked to find the Mortal Kombat Champion medallion at the trading post where he would have encountered a herd of Tarkatans led by Baraka and then devise a plan to sneak into Outworld and break Raiden free. You can find it online. Even all these years later I feel cheated. The best Shao Khan ever hands down even better than the games. The hottest women aside from Baywatch was also on that show. MK Conquest was well written in my opinion and had so many interesting original ideas and characters.
@@bryanmahoney3434 Hell yeah. Totally a fun ride. Used to be obsessed with it heavily. Unfortunately, due to budget issues they couldn't go on. Shao Khan and Quan Chi were amazing, fighting scenes were amazing. Did a couple tribute videos on my channel toward Quan Chi last year. Underrated gold nobody brings up anymore. I kinda wish the new MK1 timeline would include some of these characters
Yeah I absolutely love the MK Conquest series. They got a lot of potential for sure. I wish the series would of continued. I really loved the fighting scenes too.

They aren't well known. That's why they aren't Popular. Also if they have Shujinko as a Playable Character they should have Apep be his Kameo and say in this Timeline They trained Together with Bo rai cho
The characters that are at least in the games even as guests will most likely still be around in future games. But I have a feeling they will never be playable but will always at least be a part of the story in some way.

True story: My first wife (1992-1995) did the hair of the stunt actors in the Mortal Kombat stage show when they came through our city. She died ten years ago. Too much of that sweet cocaine.
Kinda weird they didn't have Jade in the show since it was a prequel. I do think a few of these could show up in the MK12 story, probably only the ones from the games though.

I don't know if they'd bee playable, but I think it isn't outside the realm of possibility that Vorpax and Empress Kreeya could be retconned into being Kytinn for a possible D'Vorah ending or intros. Maybe have Vorpax bee one of those Mirror Match situations like with Baraka and his brother. A far shot, I know, but I want to beelieve.
actually many of these characters are actually playable in MK mugen games ( just youtube search them). However, officially.... yeah I agree with you.. they will never be playabke!

I would like to see Nimbus Terrafeaux (although I'd revamp him and make him a high up in the Brotherhood of Shadows), and Bellok. I also think it would be really cool if they developed a character based on those floating shadow priests. I think a character like that would make a great boss actually since they are the ones that really develop the magic abilities for Shao Khan. In MK: Conquest there is one that is sort of a lead torturer that fights and seems to be very high up to Shao Khan in that series, but he does not have a name.

3:44 I always wonder if Nether-realm Studios would every try to bring back this “Monster” character back as either a New Main Boss or at least as Onaga’s second in command. Like if you wanted to make a Onaga Trilogy game, Rako could be the main bad guy in MK1, “Monster” in the second Second game, and finally in the Third and final game have Onaga return.

@@hurricane7727 if you ever watched Mortal Kombat Conquest, there’s a *bunch* of prototype characters they used to test the waters (Master Cho being a prototype of Bo Rai Cho and Kreeya being a prototype of D’vorah)
There’s still gold in them hills. You could take a character like Vorpax and reintroduce her from Chaosrealm and like Siro to Orderrealm. *No one will care if they are changed.* 😂
I remember a sort of bad spirit that appears in mk9 if you play as nightwolf. He is all black with glowing eyes, like a naked Noob Saibot. Apparently this guy has tormented Nightwolf's clan for many years. There's also Ice who is a cryomancer warrior of the Lin Kuei who appears in Edenia in one of the comics, I mention these guys every time when talking about obscure mk characters.

Oh I had never thought about "The Mask" in a Mortal Kombat game that is a perfect fit for the series. I definitely need to see "Big Head" in a MK game!! Don't care if Ipkiss or his Ex who got the mask after his death (comic book series) Kellaway, Nunzio, Matthew's, Rick, Ben etc.. any of them can be the bearer of the mask I need to see this!!

I remember when I was little and I was playing MK Deception at my Dad's house and I got Monster for the first time. It was such pivotal moment in my childhood because thats what got me into video game easter eggs. It was so mindblowing to me at the time

Dunno. I Want new Characters for Orderrealm and Chaosrealm but I wouldn't mind a few of them on the Mk1 Roster and some later as Dlc.( Kind of like Mk Deception Base Roster Mix of New and Older Characters who weren't in Quite a Few Games.
With MK1 relaunching everything a lot of these are actually possible.

In My Opinion Khrome Should Be Playable And Canon In Mortal Kombat Cause MK Needs A White Palette Swapped Ninja & Imagine The Level Of Creativity NRS Could Put In This Khrome's Moveset It Would Be Incredible To See In Any Mortal Kombat Game FR!
Funny, I use lots of these characters every now and then for fake MK character select screens. Actually did one of those earlier today, and I used Abacus as a playable character, lol. I don't think you can claim that these are never going to be used in any capacity. They could. You can always reinterpret, reimagine and redesign these characters. By the way; there's ton more.

Tbh, No Face could make an awesome concept for a fighter. Only flamethrower wielding fighter (that can I can recall) is Sektor but he has other tricks on his sleeve. No Face with TNT and flamethrower and love for fires, he would be a great jobber for a new MK title (not MK1 tho)
He could be in Mk1 as a Kameo or Playable Charcater( People wanting Sonya Playable Suck to Me Because Their are Other Characters they can use Instead of Her who was in Mk9, X and 11 Already and can Be left out of a Game for Someone else.

Man, there are a lot of ladies in the Brotherhood of Shadow. Too bad they were mostly absent in the newer stuff in favour copy paste demons and chalky powered down versions or regular cast members. Makes the world seem smaller and more bland.
