The Waterboy Movie Description:
Raised by his overprotective mother, Helen (Kathy Bates), Bobby Boucher Jr. (Adam Sandler) is the water boy for a successful college football team coached by Red Beaulieu (Jerry Reed). When Beaulieu fires Bobby, he takes up the same position for a losing rival team, led by despairing Coach Klein (Henry Winkler). After witnessing Bobby beat up a player who teased him too much, Klein adds him to the roster as a linebacker. Soon, Klein's players are championship contenders.
The Waterboy is a 1998 American sports comedy film directed by Frank Coraci and starring Adam Sandler in the title role, Kathy Bates, Fairuza Balk, Henry Winkler, Jerry Reed, Larry Gilliard, Jr., Blake Clark, Peter Dante and Jonathan Loughran. It was produced by Robert Simonds and Jack Giarraputo.
Lynn Swann, Lawrence Taylor, Jimmy Johnson, Bill Cowher, Paul "The Big Show" Wight and Rob Schneider have cameo appearances. The film was extremely profitable, earning $39.4 million in its opening weekend alone in the United States, earning a total of $186 million worldwide.

What's Your Favorite 90's Adam Sandler Movie?! Mines Is Happy Gilmore
Please Share And Like!
Agreed, Happy Gilmore is the best then Waterboy!
Not sure what my favorite Sandler movie is but my mom watches Blended way too much! Like 3 or 4 times a week!
1998’s Dirty Work starring Norm McDonald and Chris Farley. But, there is an awesome cameo from Adam Sandler.
Waterboy or wedding singer
@@cesarhernandez6861 😂 that's too much! I think you might need to have an intervention. Good luck with that!!!
"Cause he got all dem teeth but no toothbrush"
I grew up loving all these weird Adam sandler movies man
As did I, Commander.
Somethings wrong with his medulla ablangadda.
Vicky is the definition of a good Louisiana woman.
She's the Devil!
@@mikewilder6390 She can be both.
@@johnglue1744 Touche'.
This is a good thread
Now if only Bobby was a Mississippi man!
A line a still use to this day.." Which brings me to my next point, don't smoke crack."
I feel like as a a nation, we collectively ended the 1900’s spouting, “you can do it” in response to just about any situation.😂
Gotta bring that back. Better then “sheeeesh” or some stupid thing like that.
I still say it, & I say it like it's said in the movie,
Tradesmen still do... and it's still funny!
Victor Walker same 😂
I still use that now lol.
“The towel boy ran into a laundry list of problems…”
This part made me laugh out loud because I totally mind blanked on that joke as a Kid lol
That hit though 🤣💀
One of my top 10 favorite "turn off the brain and laugh" movies!
Being from Louisiana, I used to pretend to my friends in Colorado that I understood everything that Cajun Coach was saying, it drove them nuts!
I'm from south Louisiana myself and it's funny how people outside the state actually think people talk like that old man. Only eccentrics and con artists in New Orleans talk like that. Anyone who originally had thick accents down the bayou died decades ago.
Wait .. what?? There are still plenty of tick tick accents with older people. Especially over 20 years ago when this was made. Hell, Coach O at LSU sounds just like him right now.
@@mrgmusicclass I've lived in Terrebonne Parish for my entire life and no one speaks like that down there. Even down the bayou no one has an accent. Also, you said older people which is exactly what I said, those people with accents like that died a long long time ago.
@@notmychannelname42 People do talk like that in parts of North Carolina. It's like Appalachian English mixed with swamp country
@@notmychannelname42 old doesn't equal dead. Lol. Again, See Coach O at LSU. He's not even that old.
The remake of The Longest Yard with Sandler is pretty good. They even brought in Burt Reynolds to play the coach.
I liked the British version, Mean Machine, better.
Longest Yard is better than Waterboy, IMO. Waterboy is kinda funny, but too stupid, IMO.
@@A-Dubs398 They’re both good but Waterboy is a classic, I grew up quoting this movie with all of my friends playing football. Always down to watch The Longest Yard tho that’s just a fun ass movie.
@@te1013 I grew up on Waterboy too since I was like 6, but saw Longest Yard in theatres when I was 12. Longest Yard was one of the most hyped theatre experiences of my life. I still like Waterboy tho.
If you haven’t seen it. You gotta check out The Longest Yard.
Adam Sandler was one of the kings of 90's comedies; his SNL skits were comedic gold, especially Opera Man and Canteen Boy
He was way better in movies than snl lol
His comedy albums were pretty damn funny at the time too.
@@Jiff321, his movie career wouldn't exist if it weren't for his SNL performances
Before he was on MTV's Remote Control game show as Stud Boy!!!😂
I swear I saw this movie 50 times on DVD. If you haven’t seen Grown ups with Adam Sandler you GOTTA watch it
do not mention grown ups in the same sentence as this.
@@dash4800 Not gonna' lie.... Kinda' made me want to swing on something.
Y’all trippin. Grown ups is hilarious!!!
@@Cloudkiller01 I mean in the same way Pixels is.
"The Wedding Singer" is an underrated 90's nostalgia movie about the 80's. Never been a huge Sandler fan, but it is one of his I really like... that and "Punch Drunk Love", but that is a Paul Thomas Anderson movie and all his stuff is next level movie making.
It’s the beautiful beginning of the two of them working together! Drew said she knew that they would work extremely well together. And that she loved him so he had to!😌
Wedding singer was a great film!!
Same here. I was never a big fan of his either. He did a movie with Don Cheadle a while back called Reign Over Me which I actually really did like. It wasn't a movie you'd think of Adam Sandler even being in but I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it.
@@stephaniebedworth2470 I love Reign Over Me. I had never heard of it and happened to catch it on some movie channel and loved it. It jumped right up there with The Wedding Singer for me.
My favorite!
R.I.P. Jerry Reed. Saw this in theaters. Still think Fairuza is gorgeous.
I saw her on some ghost hunter show a few years back. She's still a beauty.
@@theviciouschickenofbristol4779 I mean she's only 47, most hollywood women look great into their 50's nowdays.
My grandfather went to high school with him in Atlanta
Holy shit I've seen this movie so many times and I never realized that was Jerry Reed.
Check out the ZZ Top music video for the song Breakaway.
Sandler used to play a character on SNL called "canteen boy" which is basically the water boy.
Kind of like Ben Stiller turning Madagascar into Tropic Thunder, same character, same situation.
The water boy without being molestered by Alec Baldwin.
Must watch Big Daddy. One of my favorite Adam Sandler movies. Hysterically funny and stupid, but also can bring a tear to your eye (which many of his films actually (surprisingly) do).
I don’t think big daddy is “stupid” like waterboy or happy Gilmore. Big daddy is more heartwarming with some messages sent and a good story with the kid. All 3 my fav Sandler movies. Just I don’t think I would say big daddy is a “stupid” comedy
How about Little Nicky?
I still cry my ass off in 2 different scenes in "click" the it's all about family science when he was dying and when he wouldn't even look at his dad, breaks my heart everytime.
This is the first film I was allowed to see by myself as a teenager in a movie theater! Love this! Such fun!
“We live to play another day.” I still use that one all the time. With the Cajun accent. 😂
I thought he was just saying randomness, this totally makes sense.
I watched this movie in the theater when it came out and man, that theater was packed with people laughing all the way through the film. Awesome movie. 👍
Rob Schneider plays the exact same character in another Adam Sandler film, "Little Nicky".
And in The longest Yard too
"YOU CAN DO IT!" - Oh man, I still say that in that accent on any occasion. Love this movie. Great reaction man!
I watched this movie so much growing up. I use to quote it at school and it was also cool cause it’s set in my home state of Louisiana. I know a couple people who talk like Cajun coach
I love Farmer Fran! That accent is ridiculously funny 🤣🤣
That’s amazing! We used to quote this growing up too
@@gogousa6661 anytime we were playing outside or playing sports we would go “GATORADE “ “H2O” “GATORADE “ “H2O!”
Does anyone understand the words that are coming out of his mouth. What my line. But said Dos ayone undastan da werds dat cum outa his mouf.. Louisiana southern bells stand up
@@MzzzKLA83 at 4:05 he was saying that his car broke down and that’s why he was late but the coach didn’t understand. So he said do defensive plays and he said I’ll get right to it .
And I think at 9:20 he says we live to play another day
Most of it is just him making fun of the Cajun accent and he ain’t really saying nothing
Jerry Reed is one of the best Country Musicians of all time, and here he plays a pretty wicked bastard of a villain
“You said it was gonna be a touchdown pass you crazy asshole” -Grandmas Boy 😂😂
Kathy Bates is so awesome in this role.
"You Don't mess with the Zohan" is my favourite Adam Sandler movie.
Disco disco good good
Back when Sandler was on Saturday Night Live he had a character called Canteen Boy that's where it came from.
Fun fact: The coach that fired him, and who they played in the big game at the end? Played by country music legend Jerry Reed. You should check out his earlier work in Smokey and The Bandit
EASTBOUND & DOWN.
LOADED UP & TRUCKIN'.
R.I.P. THE LEGEND CLEETUS SNOW.
Now don't forget his other huge hit westbound and down too.
I saw this one half a dozen times in the theater, it's one of my favorite sports-related movies ever. And very quotable.
Fastest click in a while! So ready for this one! 😂
Omg this movie is everything lmao. I still quote this on a regular basis 🤣
I genuinely love this movie. Maybe some of the things in it are heightened a *little* too much, but it actually has a lot of heartfelt moments that were actually amazing.
“I’m don’t like being confrontational, I’m a Virgo “ felt that😂💯
I have called it fooseball ever since this movie. :D
And I have always loved Fairuza Balk, especially in this movie. :D
Adam Sandler - "What The Hell Happened To Me?" The excited southerner is the inspiration for this character. It's a hilarious comedy album
I always thought it was a character he played in an SNL skit called Canteen Boy
I think my favorite one in that CD is the first track.. Sandler and Covert. "joining the cult" just kills me every time.
@@JayEdgar0409 perhaps there's some cross pollination between the two characters, but the Bobby's voice is definitely rooted in The Excited Southerner
I overheard my dad the other day watching your Schindler's list movie reaction, I knew it was your video because of the intro. when I was headed to my room I heard him say in a quiet voice "he's crying? Yeah that made me cry too". Later when I came back down i heard him watching the saving private Ryan one too lol! You got a new fan lol!
Btw, I hope you give "Whiplash" by Damien Chazelle a watch! I would love to see a reaction!
This is the funniest Adam Sandler "lowbrow" comedy in my book.
The Wedding Singer is his best. It's a pretty great movie in general.
You really should give it a go :)
I'd have to say Punch-Drunk Love is his best in my opinion.
My husband and I have always loved our little connection to this film that we didn't realize until we'd already been together a few years 🤣 my married last name is Boucher but pronounced B- oucher but my maiden name is Bichet pronounced pretty similar to how they say Bobby Boucher's name in the film with a little more I sound instead of oo. And my first name is Viktoria so when we got married I became Vikki Boucher 🤣
To play high school sports you can't be over 19. You can play college at any age.
Have you ever heard of Bishop Sycamore?😜
Chris winke from fl state I think was 26 yr old freshman.
"He spit in the c..c...cooler". Always cracked me up to this day 🤣
Bro I was crying 😂
The Mud Dog's stadium was my high school's football field.
Adam Sandler also stars in 'The longest yard' remake. You'll like that, too.
This is one of my favorite movies of all time, still my favorite to this day 😂
You should check out some of the other good sports comedies. “Slap Shot”, “Major League”, “Necessary Roughness”, “The Replacements”, etc…. 👍🏻
Necessary Roughness & The Replacements are my fave!! Major league & it's sequels (I think there are 3 total IIRC) are also really good :) I haven't seen Slap Shot in so long, but it never caught on with me like the others. Hopefully he watches some of those :)
I enjoy your channel a lot. I like watching you experience these movies for the first time. Some of these movies I saw 20-30-40 years ago. I like watching young people like you enjoy them for the first time.
When I was younger I would watch this film at least 3 times a week. I remember my dad taking me to see this in the theater.
I can't believe that one person doesn't like the waterboy, much less twelve of them.
Omg you're watching all the same movies I watched when I was in high school and they came out in theater. 😂 😂
Just discovered your channel. So glad I did. Your energy, laugh, critiques, editing, etc... done very well. From one movie buff to another, I hope your channel flourishes. Your movie knowledge and passion for the cinema is genuine. Keep it up.
I watched this before bed last night and laid there and giggled like an idiot thinking about it. Your laugh is great lol I had to get up and re watch over coffee and I still laughed and smiled all the way thru it! Your reactions are awesome!
You should do the longest yard with Sandler. It is HILARIOUS!!
Just wanted to say I appreciate your work man. Always brightens up my day to watch your videos. Love ❤️
I’m a waitress and when I bring my tables water, I always say “here’s some of that ✨high quality H2O✨” and if they get the reference they have would say “Gatoraaaaaade” right back to me🤣
Did anyone already mention how Rob Schneider also did the "bite its freaking head off" line in Little Nicky?
Saw this in theaters when it came out. A lot of great movies came out in the 90s.
this movie came out 23 years ago and I still quote it almost every day. lol
“I don’t like confrontation I’m a Virgo” 😂😂😂💀
FINALLY a waterboy rection. I always look for Sandler reaction videos for his old stuff and not many people do them.
Here's something you might find interesting: Before he started doing movies, but after he was fired from SNL, he did a few comedy albums, two of which went double platinum. The 2nd album, "What the Hell Happened to Me?" had sketches featuring a character called, "The Excited Southerner" which is basically an early version of The Waterboy, minus the obsession with water and his Mama. Both albums are full of hilarious sketches and songs, some are raunchy and some are even a bit twisted, but most of them are pretty funny.
Here's one of the sketches: ruclips.net/video/WJKPuD_A_P0/видео.html
Here's a link to my favorite sketch, Joining the cult: ruclips.net/video/JR3PC8VDoz8/видео.html
Your laughter is contagious! I subscribed!
“If you don’t getcho ugly ass on somewhere”
😂😂😂 I laughed way to hard when you said that shit, my damn stomach hurt 🤣😭😭
I'm loving the roll you're on with these classic comedies
Jimmy Johnson really sold that Ewww!!! during the hot dog scene fuckin hilarious
I have seen a lot of movie reactors on youtube and you are by far my favorite.. 90% of the times the reactors normally just end the video with "well great movie, see you next time".. But I have seen a couple of your reactions now and you know the actors, talking about the music, the scenes, the lighting, camera positions etc.. You can take a joke when It's meant as a joke (talking Robert D.J's Black face here😉) but you also see the meaning in the way its made.. Great reaction my dude, keep doing them👍
Hands down, one of my favorite 90's films. Good going, Mell.
Lmao. Just showed my kid the trailer to this. Nice reaction vid.
Great reaction! I enjoyed it very much😁
Bro ur reactions are THE BEST LMAO
Bro...when you said dollar tree Goldberg. I hollered😂🤣😂
50 first dates is my favorite, just the plot writing is pretty amazing
Such a classic!
Saw this 1 in theaters on my 14th Birthday! Such a blast!
I’ve been waiting for this reaction. 😂
"Captain Insano shows no mercy" gets me every time.
I played a drinking game awhile back with some friends watching this movie. We took a drink every time Bobby Boucher said ‘momma’, ‘coach’, or ‘mister’. Three people went through a 15-pack before they made it to the Bourbon Bowl
Good thing the bet wasn't, take chug one every time he said any of those words, or even ONE of those words, especially Mama lol
Loved your video! 😂😂 Love Adam Sandler ❤ fkn awesome bro. ROLL TIDE! BAMA ❤
I love this movie its hilarious to me ,this is the first movie I saw Rob snider in with his famous line "You CAN DO IT!. Great reaction.
Dollar tree Goldberg 😂🤣 damn, that had me rollin.
I still love your 300 intro.
Just so you know, if I ever bump into irl, I am going to do it.
You have been warned.
I always get 90’s The Rock “If ya smell!” vibes from that 300 intro so I really hope that is what he is referencing haha 🤣
one of my favs along with billy madison, happy gilmore, Anger Management, the wedding singer, Grown ups and Grown ups 2, The longest yard, Big Daddy, Zohan, Mr Deeds, pixels
This movie is funny as hell awesome reaction dude
One of my most favorite A.S. movies!! Thank you!!! 😃😝
Good times - cut class back then to watch this in theaters
His canteen boy skit on SNL is where he started this voice and characteristics
This character was based off of a character from one of his older comedy albums called "what the hell happened to me?" The character was the excited southerner.
Love these vids. Find it hand to believe you haven't seen a majority of these though.
I was waiting for this Mello! Hydrate and stay thirsty my dude!
23rd request for: The Fifth Element!
Mull-Ti-PASS!
Hahaha
With October on its way, that might be a good incentive for a Halloween themed viewings. Seeing Kathy Bates again, one film he should consider is Stephen King’s Misery. For other Halloween movies: Beetljuice, Nightmare on Elm Street, Halloween, It (the miniseries, not the movies), Coraline (In my opinion a scary movie in its own right). That’s all I can think of off the top of my head for now, but no doubt someone can come up with more
Gotta love the Cameos in his movies, like Peter Dante always playing a part of himself or his production company Happy Madison with Strange Wilderness.
Oof lol how have you not seen this? I love this movie lmao
0:53 - That's funny! I just came from the Dodgeball react!! >XD
This man just say it isn’t a great movie? I can watch this 100 times and still laugh my ass off, it’s a classic!
What a great review of a great movie!!
This movie is a classic lol :P always good for a laugh!
Great recomendations Little Nicky and Undercover Brother💣💥
You should watch Little Nicky, it has most the the people from Water-boy from it but it’s more extreme and even funnier
You have to do "Baseketball" next. Absolutely hilarious!
Captain insano shows no mercy...best line ever
You have to watch the Wedding Singer! But also MR Deeds is a classic :)
That’s the best intro I ever seen lol
I saw this in theaters when it came out. Classic.
