    The Taigam pilot here. My deck runs Arcane denial because it can read 'draw 3 cards on the next upkeep' when targeting one of our own, uncounterable spells. Its niche but it helps when youre stuck with a hand full of counters.

    This was so cool to see - I have been playing Kadena for years in casual as my main deck, and have always thought she would translate well into cEDH. So glad to see someone putting up a result with such a sweet list!

    Cool video as always Matthew, thanks.
    The only Kadena I saw outside of casual was pretty much flash wizard tribal..
    It used things like German Rave Dance (Voidmage Prodigy), Bob (Dark Confidant).
    Teferi MoZ & Leyline of Anticipation because flash breaks the deck.
    It was also running some pretty cool utility lands; Like Alchemist's Refuge & Riptide Laboratory.

    I love how similar that Kadena list is to my casual version lol
    Also the reason why Seedborn is nuts with Kadena is if you have flash (AKA creature Teferi) you get a free morph EVERY turn

    I've played a fair bit of Taigam, and Bribery is insane, particularly if you have a polymorph deck or Kinnan at the table. The meme for my playgroup is that Bribery exists to steal the stupidest creature in the Kinnan player's deck, which I'm always a fan of. Steal a Tidespout Tyrant/Hullbreaker Horror, etc.
    Biggest high for me was stealing a hullbreaker and 10 mana Jin Gitaxis off of the rebound. Won the game with beats off of that because of the draw 7.

    • @sanderinoa
      @sanderinoa 6 месяцев назад

      Taigam pilot from the video here. Indeed Bribery is crazy and almost specifically built in due to the abundance of Kinnan decks nowadays.
      With a Blind Obedience on the field grabbing Tidesprout is an alternative wincon, and if there is a TOR on the field that prevents combat damage during our infinite we can grab a Thassa's.
      It's a skill intensive card though, that relies on knowing other people's primary combos, since you can sometimes just copy a Glinthorn-Malcolm line and win

    With cedh making bigger mana cards that are more synergistic playable I can only think of my Thraximundar deck that played perplexing chimaera and Commandeer against cedh decks. I like how many people are trying to avoid interaction by using channel effects too and trying to stretch their removal outside of the realm people are used to dealing with. Eventually trickbind and tales end will be playable in the format.

    fighting a good morph deck can be very annoying, especially with seedborn muse, since they always have mana to flip morphs. Combine that with a way to either flip a morph back faced down or to pop it to your hand and re-play it at flash speed, you can lock down the table. A morph deck is good at shutting down combos, but not great against direct combat beatdown. They really don't want to waste their valuable morphs for blocking, so smacking them before they get seedborn muse and a flash enabler out is how they're vulnerable.
    Also having a bunch of faced down morphs and free mana is a really good deterrent.

    I would like to know what the top decks are winning with. By me the cEDH crowd seems to run the same base blue with other colors added in. While there are variance in the commanders that are being played the overlap of cards in the decks being played is very high. I ran one with a 5 color commander in it. Pick any it didn't matter I never intended to cast it. I had just the staple cEDH blue black cards in it mixed in 4 two card combos that had overlap and won. My lands all had blue and or black in them with the other three colors so I kept the appearance up and if I wanted to cast my commander. It was a lot of fun to play and see the table try to figure out what I was going to do. They mostly just kept fighting each other since the commanders they played were "meta". This showed me that the bones of the "meta" cEDH decks are the same, the last 30 cards you add are really the only variance in the format.

      The most popular wincons are Thassa's Oracle and Demonic Consultation/Tainted Pact, Underworld Breach with Lion's Eye Diamond and Brain Freeze, and infinite mana loops, usually involving Kinnan and Basalt Monolith or Dockside Extortionist and one of the many ways to go infinite with it.

  • @damo9961
    @damo9961 6 месяцев назад +1

    It has blue black in its color identity. Sometimes that's all you need. I'm brewing Be'lakor, the Dark Master now. If Atraxa can be good why can't Be'lakor be fringe? Just run a few of the Demon staples like Raz and Vilis and Doom Whisperer and a reanimation package and Black Market Connections for changelings and a Roaming Throne for fun. Then basically just staples.
    Not the best but I'm never going to be public enemy no1. Be'lakor is card advantage and a win con with Breach loops

    But, seriously, play Arcane Denial because it’s great and the hive mind simply cannot count.
