Taryl, it is great that you are doing great things for our veterans. I'm the Assistant Chief, Center for Development and Civic Engagement (CDCE) here at the VA Medical Center. If you would like to donate directly to our veterans, please reach out to me directly for further information. I'm a veteran myself. What better way to give back to our veterans in need. We take monetary or non-monetary donations that go directly to our veterans here at the Department Of Veteran Affairs. 🇺🇸
Nice gesture fellas. American veterans deserve everything . Many were left homeless because politicians were squandering their duties. We should wake up and help these kind souls.
I was what most people called a military brat. I grew up in a military family and my family served all the way back to my great grandfather on both sides of my family. My son is active duty military now. Please be very wise and investigative in your giving to military charities. That’s all I better say.👍
Hey Taryl, Tim here..THANK YOU for donating ur time for our vets......i am an Air Force Vet ('85-'89)......watching what ur doin warms my heart......GREAT cause to donate to!!!!!.....(i'm only half way thru, and had to chime in)......we need MORE folks such as urself, that care enuf about us (vets) and provide a means of support!!......THANK YOU SIR!!!.....boy, u continue to validate my merch purchases, with each vid.......just LOVE ur whole deal!!!!.....me and Bobaloo are SO PROUD to be Grass Rats!!!!.....PEACE to you, my brother!!!😊
I’m in Louisville. I do repair videos here on RUclips too. I find Belknap stuff all the time at garage sales and flea markets. Great stuff. American made. From a time when that still meant something.
I am from Canada but I just want to tell you that you guys are my kind of people, looking after your own! Look after your brothers as they looked after you!
thank God there are people like Taryl and Kent, to help our veterans out. Because the people in charge of the United States just give it to the non-citizens who did not do a thing for this country.
Good stuff. Louisville here. (LOU EEE VILLE) As a kid (19) (1988) started working at The Galt House Hotel, maintenance. Many trips to old BlueGrass Hardware building. 1st time there it was like walking back in time to the early 1900s. It was very maintained however definitely old. The building was HUGE! They had everything imaginable. All floors had product of sorts and they also owned additional buildings down the block that were stocked like you wouldn’t believe. Truly stuck in an industrial age of time. Lots of very old men on the sales floor. Each having their own specialty of knowledge. Many were old tradesmen (boilermakers & such) that couldn’t do the job anymore but were still very useful w/ their many years of knowledge. I loved that place! As you’d expect, CHINA (NAFTA) put them out of business or so I was told by a couple of the old timers that had worked there many years. Good people, quality tools & parts. I still have hammers and other hand tools from Bluegrass hardware. They are very solid, Proud American made tools that did not wear out & break. Sought after BGH by many tool collectors. A shame they were forced outta business during the Clinton era & NAFTA. Thx TARYL for the video & your work on the old mower. Also, to our USA Vets… thank you for your service. 🇺🇸🫡
God bless the citizens of USA wonderful. That’s super good effort of everyone involved. I greatly appreciate what you all are doing . That is your dinner🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
You always served exciting dinner sir!!!! I also had a friend that raced Ford Pinto drag cars and I helped him clean and prep cars for his used car sales and his nickname was also CATFISH from Vicksburg Michigan.......
It is so great to see people stand up for our forgotten veterans Like myself During the veitnam war so many of us where treated like ( #####$$$) Thank you everyone for giving us The stand up things like this lets us know we can finally feel at home for what we did Now we can stand down
Hey Taryl, thank you so much for restoring that mower for the homeless veterans. I am a 71-year-old US Marine Veteran. That made my old heart swell with pride. I have I think is a 1953 model Brigges and Stratton push mower. I think it is all there, motor is not locked up. I would like for you to have it. I live in NW Alabama and don't know how to get it to you. If I can catch one of my grandsons, I will send some pics.
Tyral thank you so much for all the service you do for all of us and those around you, i salute you my freind to your family as well, GOD BLESS YOUR HEART SIR, iam a veteran but the great hearts like yours is what i think the most of, tyral your knowledge and wisdom is very respected from us here in illinois, a true champion and legend in todays time, sincerely, THANK YOU FOR ALWAYS GIVING BACK
I am very grateful that there are Americans willing to offer their time talent and treasure in such a way as to help their fellow Americans. This entire fund raising project is straight from the heart. I live three time zones away, otherwise I'd definitely be bidding on that mower. My 5hanks to all.
If you love your freedom, thank a veteran. Thank you for all your do, Taryl, and especially for your contribution to the Rust Belt Rebellion show and veterans. Your guys are the best of the best!
Anyone other than me slip at the parts store by asking for “Breaks & Scrap em’” (or any other brand) parts? Another great video for a fantastic cause! 👍
You’re a true patriot Sir I love what you do. You have helped me fix my equipment and I love your goofy skits. Fixing things shouldn’t be so boring thanks for lighting our load.
Great job Taryl. My first job after High School was working at a Huffy Manufacturing in Richmond Indiana in 1971 1972 . We made riding mowers and push mowers for Blue Grass.
What a beauty!! That mower looks like it is brand new. I can remember the Bluegrass Hardware building that Taryl was referring to in Louisville,KY. When we were visiting my aunt and uncle that lived in Louisville, I distinctly remember approaching the Preston Highway exit from Watterson Expressway/I-264 that you could see the International Harvester factory where the “Original Cub Cadets” were manufactured. I remember as a kid that the Bluegrass tools were very well made and lasted for a very long time. The push mower that was featured in the video is about the same exact age as my 107 Cub Cadet.
I have a 107 cub. Rare mower. Mine was my grandpa's. Been parked under a shed at my other grandpa's house since 1984 when he passed away. One of these days when I get bored working on cars and trucks I'm gonna restore it.
You are AMAZING.....all your knowledge is impressive enough but then to have so much "New Old Stock" inventory that you keep track of....BOGGLES MY MIND TARYL ! U-DA-MAN!
@Tarry1FixesA11 REALLY ???THANKS !!! Does this mean if I stop by your shop, You roll out the red carpet for me ??? I drive right by your place once in a while.....Terre Haute to South Bend...grew up in S.B. shoveling lake effect snow !
The Question is how much did the Vintage Lawnmower get in the Auction ??? BTW Mr Tray Outstanding video Super happy that people like you help our Veterans out
Did you look at the date of the auction. It’s this weekend. I don’t know if you know this but they have this thing that’s called a calendar. You should check it out it tells you dates and stuff but you have to know how to read it. There’s yur dinner
It echoes in my mind, and fills my nightmarish dreams. 42:50 Always watching and waiting for the chance to fire it up. 42:50 Fire it up. 42:50 Fire it up. 42:50
My uncle Ralph was in charge of all of the outside salesman he had a big fancy office up in the main building that is still standing they demolished the warehouse in that opening scene . They made everything I had a bicycle that was their brand . And have a few tools that are bluegrass. Sad that they went out of business He retired before they closed . Was a lot of fun to visit him at work in that big office building . And we always went to lunch at the now gone Blue Boar cafeteria off 4th street . That is a wonderful mower no dummy bar or other Nanny items just a basic mower!
That's a real nice mower with a good cause me and my best friend's dad who was a Vietnam veteran used to volunteer at the soup kitchen for veterans He's passed now but I still do it in his honor
Thanks Taryl, you are awesome! This means so much to our brave Veterans who deserve better treatment than they get today. So sad that some Veterans are pushed out of their housing today by the current President, in order to house illegal aliens. Disgusting. Thanks again for all you do!
What a great cause! Still watching.. You're expertise is remarkable Taryl. Thank you Gary. Thank you Kent! One wants to say, 'On behalf of a grateful Nation, WE the folks/ working blokes/civilians, apologize for 'it's just the sort of shenanigans' Copied from my friend, US Navy 4 year vet... Hope it fetches the highest price!
Nice Job Taryl. Great cause. It is ashame we have homeless vets in this country but bend over backwards for illegal immigrants. I would buy that mower for $500.00 not just because of the cause. It is better than the junk you buy today.
Hey Grass Rats please share this video and let’s get it up to a million views to help our nation’s vets! Thanks for watching 🇺🇸
How about contacting your representatives and pass legislation instead.
If you're going to do a fair amount of restoration, then a powder coat spray booth and heater does wonders for looks of parts being restored.
to make it count i reckon Grass Rat King Taryl mate. 🇦🇺
