Thanks for sharing your great outdoor adventure, Jasmine. After all you’re not lazy at all given this arduous terrain backpacking in Malaysia’s oldest rainforest to reach Gunung Tahan. Subscribed to your channel and waiting for you to entice me with more videos 😊

Was wondering your(boleh niaga pasar malam liau) belonging only 15.5kg !!
Hihihi 15.5 is at the starting point, after few hours of hiking it will become 55.1kg liau
Anyway great sharing eventhough not any help to me(did Tahan 2 years ago) but at least very useful to others, Thanks
Oh yea, throughout the 4 day's hike, i never filter nor purified those water along the way, eventhough i hv a portable filter with me(too slow n me very thirsty then, hihihi),Thanks God my stomach can accept all.

To be honest, the bag really played an important role.
I did Trans Slim with 9kg load (3kg with porter) but different bag and my shoulder & back were so sore & painful 😓
Tahan M2M the 15.5kg (with no porter help) with a bag that has proper waist n back support was alright & I don’t really feel the burden ☺️
I only filtered the water at Bukit Botak the rest just minum all the way 😂 but at the end got to camp in the toilet for 1 day to detox the night I return home 💩

Totally agreed with the bag issue, but sadly most of us only knew the problem of that bag until v try it out, n sometimes it's individual body(luggage packing of course an issue too) suit or not. Budget also headache as some brands can b too expensive
Notice at Kem Botak u took the water nearest to campsite, sure u know there's another some distance further up is much better(cleaner perhaps)

@mohdabduhng1871 is all about trial & error as well as source of info ☺️ and also the hiking n camping equipments, bags n shoes etc have advanced so much ☺️ unlike many donkey years ago, I wore my all cotton shirt n seluar pendek + school socks & shoes up to Gunung Tahan (K2K) with heavy load n bag that didn’t give good support 😂
haha I didn’t know that until someone pointed out .. I think my buddy refill water from there.
don’t know is faith or what, the water that I collected spilled because didn’t put the valve of the water bag properly and at the end only managed to use 1L like that for boiling water n cooking 🥘

Great video. Could you give some tips on footwear, I notice you and guides using open sandals lower down across rivers and you use hiking shoes further up? I have heard of 'Kampung adidias' ....any good?

    • @jaszmynleong
      @jaszmynleong  19 дней назад +2

Glad you like the video ☺️
First day I wore sandals to cross the river because I didn’t want to get my shoes wet as Day 2 would be a strenuous hike. Trying to make sure my feet is as dry as possible.
I have not try Kampung Adidas shoes but I have seen my friends wore it and they invested in quality socks and insole pads. ☺️

Just kaypoh to add - u better off with good hiking sandal beside proper hiking shoe, for river crossing, multiple times(4 x 2) on M2M, 7 + 4 if M2K or K2M.
