      I traveled about 350 miles from West Texas to Dallas to view the eclipse. Unfortunately, instead of remaining in Dallas proper for the eclipse, I chose to (try to) view it from SouthFork Ranch in Parker, TX, where the exterior footage of the home life of the famous TV show "Dallas" took place. The clouds let us view all of the eclipse EXCEPT for totality, as the thicker clouds decided to start rolling over the view of the sun just about 5 minutes before totality began, and then they got thinner again just after totality!! I was SO bummed!!! The midday darkness was really neat, but to be denied a view of the best part felt rather cruel, especially when people in Dallas proper apparently got to view totality, esp from the Cotton Bowl. Oh, well, it's neat to have the memory of being just a few feet from the famous SouthFork house during the eclipse, and then I got to tour it afterwards!

I have only seen a partial eclipse but after seeing this video plan to go to the North of Spain to see the total Eclipse at 12. August 2026 with a friend. We‘re both arround 70 years old and this is on our bucket list. Your perspective on human perception is beautiful Neil, I love it. Thank you for sharing this goosebump video with us all.

    Wow Dr. Tyson I am I'm tears. I cried when the solar eclipse actually happened too. I just felt so grateful to be able to be a part of such an amazing cosmic event. And you always make things so much more interesting and more valuable. I also realized we may not have been in the same state because I was in Ohio. But I was on the same earth as you were when that happened. I know it may not have been exactly the same time and maybe even a few hours apart. But I still got to watch the same cosmic event that Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson did. And that was something amazing I'm itself.

      I traveled about 350 miles from Midland/Odessa to Dallas to view the eclipse. Unfortunately, instead of remaining in Dallas proper for the eclipse, I chose to (try to) view it from SouthFork Ranch in Parker, where the exterior footage of the home life of the famous TV show "Dallas" took place. The clouds let us view all of the eclipse EXCEPT for totality, as the thicker clouds decided to start rolling over the view of the sun just about 5 minutes before totality began, and then they got thinner again just after totality!! I was SO bummed!!! The midday darkness was really neat, but to be denied a view of the best part felt rather cruel, especially when you all in Dallas proper got to view totality. Oh, well, it's neat to have the memory of being just a few feet from the famous SouthFork house during the eclipse, and then I got to tour it afterwards!

    Is it physics-ly possible to teleport?

    • @gzenkner
      @gzenkner Месяц назад +1

      Superposition is one of the fundamental concepts of quantum physics, which suggests that a quantum system can exist in multiple states at the same time, until it is observed and its wave function is "delivered" to a particular state. O emaranhamento é outro fenômeno intrigante da física quântica, onde duas partículas se tornam interligadas de tal forma que o estado de uma está instantaneamente relacionado ao estado da outra, independentemente da distância entre elas.
      Agora, sobre o teletransporte na física quântica: ao contrário do que muitas vezes é retratado na ficção científica, o teletransporte quântico não envolve a desmaterialização e rematerialização de objetos ou pessoas. Em vez disso, é um processo pelo qual as informações sobre o estado quântico de uma partícula são transmitidas de um local para outro, sem que a própria partícula viaje no espaço entre eles.
      Isso é possível graças ao fenômeno do emaranhamento quântico. Quando duas partículas estão emaranhadas, mudar o estado de uma imediatamente afeta o estado da outra, independentemente da distância entre elas. Isso permite que informações sejam transmitidas de uma partícula para outra, mesmo que estejam separadas por grandes distâncias.
      No entanto, é importante notar que o teletransporte quântico ainda está em estágios muito experimentais e é usado principalmente em laboratórios para transmitir informações quânticas, como qubits em computação quântica e criptografia quântica, em vez de objetos macroscópicos. Além disso, mesmo que o estado quântico de uma partícula possa ser teletransportado dessa maneira, a partícula original ainda precisa ser transportada fisicamente para o local de destino para reconstruir completamente o sistema.

    We saw it 12 miles to the wast of Killeen, TX. The clouds broke up so we saw most of the partial phases and all of totality. I used my Celestron 8” scope with my Canon EOS Ra camera. I got over 1500 photos through all the phases plus photos with my Sony a7ii, my Canon 60Da, and my Fujifilm XS-20. I prayed to god that it would clear up and it did. I never put on my eclipse glasses because I was to busy taking photos. I definitely looked at it when it was total. Oh, what the heck I am from Krypton. Lol.

    I traveled from El Salvador with my brother to watch the eclipse. Stayed with an aunt in houston waiting for the event and, as Neil said, the weather was not looking good, but for some reason I had faith in the city of Waco. The day of the eclipse traveled by car and the weather was horrible: cloudy, hazy, rainy, etc. But, later in the day, I swear that they were no clouds whatsoever in the city of Waco and I saw the totallity with sky blue clear sky.
    Also, shout out to the city of Waco, Baylor University, and the Lowell observatory for making it a beautifull event! Best day ever! ❤
