Well, plumbers who use the plumber's cement/adhesive to glue in the flange pipe just passes on the issue to the next guy. You were the next guy and had to spend an hour or more getting rid of the pvc pieces inside the 4" toilet pvc pipe. Wouldn't it have been nice to use a few screws and anchors for the new installation? (suggestion). Also must the flange always have to be mounted on the tile itself or sub-fit into the tile's gap to be flush (the top of the flange) - even with the top of the tile?
I feel for you, partner. I had to do the same thing a few weeks ago, except I had to spend about 5 hours busting out a concrete ring around where my new flange was supposed to go to be 1/4" off the floor so the toilet wouldn't feel like kiddy ride in front of a grocery store in 1959.

Hi Jack, thank you for the tutorial. What kind or brand of flange do you use to replace the old pvc flange? Thank you.
Actually, I don't remember. I got the flange at Lowes if that's any help.
@@JackTemple It is, I’ll look over there. Thanks again.
@@JackTemple most likely a Sioux Chief brand. These are made to last a life time plus half into your grandkids life.
Great video
Is it a crawl space underneath your house? Or on a cement slab?
It’s on a concrete slab
@@JackTemple thanks for the info and the video looks like I need to replace some floor that's very damaged...
