This dude's a legend. Cut him some slack it's literally his first time using a pop up trailer(gotta start somewhere) and he's just calling it how he sees it. I got a kick out of it. Thank you! The wasp story was gold too!
This is the funniest review man, just calling things out left and right all negative and critical Dad style! Love it! I couldn't stop laughing as these are the same thoughts going on in my head in the same style.
Just know that Forest River has a 1.3 star rating out of 5 with the Better Business Bureau. They make crappy campers that fall apart and then they refuse to pay for any of the repairs. They are pretty flashy in a video, but once the water starts leaking in it takes all the zeros off your investment. Buyer Beware.
I pretty much chuckled all the way through this video, and wanted so badly to help this guy out. It was definitley entertaining. HOPEFULLY, since his maiden trip, he has familiarized himself more with Popups. I have a 206STSE, same brand just bigger model, and we love ours. But then again, we have been campers for quite a few decades now. As always though.............HAPPY CAMPING!
The high clearance and lug tires are for towing behind a 4x4 vehicle, and I pull my Flagstaff 176SE behind a Jeep Cherokee XJ. So far, I have trailed the Flagstaff over steep, rough mountain trails littered with snow, boulders, and creeks. Mine has dual batteries with a 130w solar system to keep the batteries charged. It also has dual propane tanks, so the camper is outfitted for a week of remote camping without resupplying. I replaced the short AM/FM radio antenna with a 31" antenna, and the radio now works better in distant locations.
So the bigger tires and axel clearance are a must have for me. I got this unit specifically for that. I go camping on the mountain pass roads in Colorado and they are rocky, non paved roads. If you don't have the foot of axel clearance I wouldn't be able to get up to the campsites.
Yep. Great point. If you have ever bottomed out a trailer you know how nice it is to have some clearance.Especially since the water tank sits on the bottom of the frame.
Your trailer has "limit switch" settings for the UP motion AND down motion. You don't have to depend on watching the "green wire". When lowering the roof, the down limit switch will turn off the motor when the roof comes down all the way AND keeps slight tension on the wire when adjusted correctly. Therefore, when raising the roof, the motor stops AUTOMATICALLY, even if you continue to hold the switch in up position! And the same thing when lowering the roof. The motor stops AUTOMATICALLY when lowering the roof, even if you continue to keep the switch pushed down! The adjustment screws are under the cover that holds the up-down switch!
Nice review. That is a nice campsite there, on the east coast the campsites are so crowded and closely spaced you wonder why you left the city! =D The best campsites I ever saw privacy wise was Alaska..
I'm sure that people who would want their trailer to be sitting up high and have better tires because these people will be taking the trailer into areas that are not road friendly unlike most normal campgrounds. But who knows, I'm just a woman.
I was excited about this trailer. Was looking to buy it, then I watched this and got so bummed out. I feel like I would be so unhappy with a tent trailer now. :/
Definitely do not let this guy scare you. I have this trailer and me and the kids have a great time in it. It’s all how you look at it.This guys just negative and hates life.
I just watched your video. I don't want to be disparaging but I end up thinking that either you had the worst dealer walk through ever heard of or there were so many distractions that you missed 80% of the initial walk through information. I hate that you invested so much and truly don't seem to understand what you bought? Not sure, but I feel badly for you. Keep in mind that your unit is on the entry level of RVs. So, at the end of the day, with your misgivings of your unit you would experience huge issues with TTs, 5th Wheels or Mgs since PUPs are so minimal to operate or maintain.
??? Is it yours how you do a review with out looking at Manu or going though it before you film nice trailer though and as for the tires it's for going behind a real 4x4 in the trails
Thanks for the review, I'm looking at the 176SE to tow with my jeep, which one is yours?. The sport enthusiast edition (SE) is geared towards backwoods camping, that's why it has the "off road" tires, extra clearance and heavier springs. The Rockwood EXP is even beafier then this one. Which model is yours
Too meany .. "I think..." and " I suppose..." If you're reviewing something should say this is the water hose connection and the show it... not " I think...this is the water hose connection".... When you say that I am not sure if this camper have one connection or not...
I was very nervous putting my brand new beach cruiser on this rack. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxG6JIgwJhur8_Rg8UeQ3EmePzi_wSncL8 But after reading many reviews I decided to get this one and take a chance. When arrived it was very simple to adjust and put together. I also added spike tape over the metal hooks before securing and tightening the straps, and no scratches. I also purchased the top bar made by the same company so that my cruiser sits straight on the rack without having to turn upside down. Extra bungee cords are used to secure the front wheel from flapping and even piece of mind knowing your bike is secure. Definitely recommend...
Was it the bike rack that seemed unstable or the crossbars? I'm purchasing a pop up for a long mtb trip, if the cross bars are wobbly, I don't think this one will work.
The attachments that hold the bike to the cross bars are questionable. I doubled up some bungee cords around the bike tires to help hold the bike in place. I wouldn't put more than 2 adult size bikes on the cross bars.
The 7 pin connection is the one that will allow the trailer brakes to work. The 4 pin is usually for smaller utility trailers or other trailers that do not have any brakes. That's why it was funny when he said the brakes didn't work. Not gonna have brakes only using the 4 pin connection.
I hope you knew more when you slept with a girl the fiirst time? "I don't what that is, seems a bit odd. What are those? Not sure, don't know...what's this? No idea where this goes..." Just having a laugh!!!
The unanswered questions in this video are completely over the top. If you showed up at the Avis rental car counter and they said they had a deal but the car has no battery, with the conversation even continue?
@@desertdog185 I am not sure what you mean by your comment. When he mentioned it did not have a battery I wondered if it was not an option with this trailer (even though I have never heard of such a thing) or the maybe he had a wiring problem and for safety reasons he could not use one. He mentioned it did not come with a battery but there appeared to be a positive connecter with a fuse line ready to connect a battery. He obviously bought it at some dealer, so why would a dealer not have already installed a battery? There are just a lot of questions as to why a battery would not be on the trailer. If it needs a battery, why all the confusion? He could just go buy one and install it. I just have a lot of unanswered questions about why there is no battery for the trailer, especially since such a fairly small thing can totally change your camping experience.

"once in the lip"
For someone who's supposed to be doing a review, you seem to know NOTHING about this trailer.
I know right? I'm like, did this guy just walk up to a random trailer and start reviewing it?
Seriously. I feel like calling this guy and telling him all about his camper.
Lol. No kidding.😂
LOL so true
Exactly what I was thinking

Totally agree, dude.. Example: "Supposed to be a strap here. But it broke." [Sad face looks directly into camera] Waaaaah! Waaaaaaaaaah!

You need to put the support brace in for the frame once it is lifted. Also, you can wrap the tent around the frame to hide it.

unintentional comedy at its finest. we lost it as the stump part. sorry bout the toes bro.
You have to have a brake controller for the brakes to work.

We are starting to look at pop ups as well. They do seem cheaply made. How is it holding up?
After each trip there are always screws laying on the floors. Screws in particle board never hold.

Probably. Even with everything closed there is still air gaps in the canvas.
