  • The lightweight trailer scene is growing rapidly. Does the tent trailer still have a place? I think it's still the leader of the pack! Check out this trailer and more at Lyle Bongard's CRC RV Center in Fredericton New Brunswick! www.crcbongardsrv.ca

    Suggestion for all the camper manufacturers, regarding the stoves/ranges: build into the cover one or two induction units. They're much cheaper to run and, in most cases, cook just as well or better, absolutely fantastic for quickly heating any quantity of water, be it soup or for laundry. While you could replace some of the gas burners, putting the induction units into the cover permits the user to have both types-and depending on design (read: socket the power source), possibly put it in another location to cook at the same time, or just use as a portable counter.
    Heck, add a cutting board on the flip side of the induction units, or as a second cover, all clicking together. It seems an elegant solution to adding utility options.

      i believe induction uses many more amps than normal electric which would drain a battery real quick,

      @@sisterssmp4994 Most run off a standard 15A residential circuit. Kitchen outlets are usually 20A. But yes , they still use a lot of watts and would drain a battery quickly... I take my portable induction cooktop only when I have electrical at my campsite.

    For an ultra light camper trailer that still offers full headroom, you must check out the Sylvansport GO and its peripherals. I've had mine since 2018 and I still love it. At 840 pounds dry weight, practically any car rated for towing will manage it easily. As well as being a tent trailer, it is also a gear and toy hauler.

    The pop up camper market needs to look at the off road forward fold campers. I'm not going to be cooking inside any tent camper. Put the kitchen outside with awning that has wall options.

    • @PeterLoweOne
      @PeterLoweOne  8 месяцев назад +1

      Serious question... What's the difference between cooking outside within a wallled area, and inside a tent trailer?

      The opus has a slide out kitchen for outside. That's how I wish everyone did it. I'd rather have a bathroom inside and a kitchen outside. That's my perfect setup.

    • @felishagathright4013
      @felishagathright4013 8 месяцев назад +2

      @AbundantAdventures I like the OP2. Decent storage, outside kitchen, & shower is accessible from annex.

    • @AbundantAdventures
      @AbundantAdventures 8 месяцев назад

      @felishagathright4013 yeah. They do a great job but unfortunately it's overkill and more importantly over priced for a canvas tent on wheels.
      Don't get me wrong, thing is awesome and I want one but 35 thousand for something that can get holes in it or easily leak over years of use is just too much money IMO.
      If I got use out of the extreme off road capabilities it had I could justify it, but unfortunately I'm looking for semi off road capable but nothing as advanced as they have on it.

    Do they make these types of trailers that only have 1 pullout? Is that a thing?
    I am solo and the 2nd pullout would be wasted space & more excessive heat/ac loss..

    • @PeterLoweOne
      @PeterLoweOne  8 месяцев назад +2

      I've seen them, but they're very rare. I'm not sure who may still make that design today. The ones that I've seen are usually the very low end of the market. They may not be available with all the features of this trailer. They're designed to be inexpensive and lightweight alternatives.

    • @Bizarb
      @Bizarb 8 месяцев назад +1

      I just looked them up on RUclips.. Clipper sport has only one pullout, but it looks pretty slim selection. 4 season would be a cool option too. I have never considered a popup camper. Always liked the teardrops. But these things look more and more appealing. @@PeterLoweOne

    Hard to believe the manufacture still uses the same roof height section requiring to have to sleep on an inferior mattress and remove most of your bedding to close the top. Simple fix, add 6” of height to the roof.
