Damn Dog, what a thrill to see that engine fire and run. There is something spiritual about taking a pile of cast iron & steel pieces and bringing to life. Keep up the good work! Later
Well all I can say is STUNNING !!! From the East Coast Of Australia... I have followed this from start to finish, Now let's cook to celebrate shall we Sam O'l Mate...
Got yourself a super nice engine there. Nice work. I would like to see a video on the larger engine that was behind your McCormick M. sitting on the cart.
That's a really super job and the whole outfit looks absolutely gorgeous, I'm really pleased to see it start and run so well. Congratulations on such a good job, I've really enjoyed following along as you have gone through it. Could you go through what you have done to the spark plug please and explain about the linseed treatment to stop corrosion? What's happened to the baling wire engine or is this it?
Thank you Sam you have supplied me with a great knowledge in IH engines from your detailed information contained in your video show I am on my second IH restoration and have a few videos posted thumbs up
And here I thought you were going to rebuild all 100 of those engines you got, give or take a few, before we would get to see you start one! One turn! Has to run! If you do make sure everything's right -or close to it. lol!
When that Oiler is missing is it hard to find another one to replace it with and do they sell them new old stock or reproduction? So did you rebuild that engine? If so did you make the valves for it? It sounds great and I like the homemade exhaust it works keen.
I noticed in the background when you got that M running, there was an engine with one huge rocker arm on the head. What is it and will you be running it?
OK hers one. My M, EK singel needle mixer. I rebuilt but not restored it as my first flywheel engine. Runs good, my question is at an idle it runs 500-550 RPM but is slighly missing, fires every 2-3 rev. When I load it the gov. moves as it should to open the throttle plate as shel slows down then she fires everytime without a miss. Can I assume thats the way they run as a rule? Figure it cant fire if it cant breath with the throttle closed.
I see the impractical features of that 1.⁵ HP engine in a rat rod-low rider-motorcycle w/ antique & custom parts. But for 7-11 trips it would definitely be fun. A 5 spd snow blower or riding mower tranny might be a cool touch. Possibly fashion it w/ a some board track racing motorcycle features of the 10s, 20s & 30s. Hayabusa no. Grampa's cool putter, oh ya ! Torque value might get you past 20 mph or more. HP x 5252 ÷ rpm = torque. Harbor tool & freight may have an rpm meter. A lazer gun w/ silver reflective tape.
shopdogsam can you help me out . I have a 1929 Mccormick Deering 3 hp engine and I removed the sparkplug and I could not get the plug to thread back in . I looked for a video on this don't see one .
My cuzin does them engines up here at the Westport fair here In mass on the east coast and I help but why run that there Colman gas rather than regular gas?

Great job buddy!
That runs real nice , Would these run a hammer mill fast enough .?
Sam what size wire do you use for your sparkplug wire? Any color suggestion?
that's pretty sweet dog!!!
Going back a few videos for remedial training. Man, I love this engine. "As found",,, but with a perfect tune.
It’s a beautiful motor. Is it for sale?

What would a 1.5 horsepower engine power? Thank You. ;}
How much fuel does that use .
How do you check the case oil?
no oil in crankcase it's a total loss oil system,, drips in from the oiler and out the breather
,,, stories,, yes, them tattoos could tell a tale or two,, later,
,,, 7mm, black, with a woven cover,,,
,,,, I seen water yesterday,,,
I have the same engine but it’s a No.A
Good job, but is Arkansas on the ocean? Lol
It sounds like "hit-and-miss," but it's not distinctive....???
You always talking about the stories these engines can tell, what about those tattoos?
