As a college coach I would care far more about Brown's performance in between the 20's and red zone. The td is not the hard part, the rest of the running is far more impressive. Also, anyone who played running back can tell you that Brown is in the air too much. That exposes him to injury since defensive players can take shots at him but he can't protect himself. It's also a good way to create a turnover, for the other team. This film could tighten up the football details. Also, the only reason a school like FSU would repeal Harbor's scholarship is if they had recruited too many quarterbacks in the class and because of his knee injury, they no longer believed he could fulfill his potential. In real life Bobby Bowden promised Chris Weinke in 1989 that if he didn't succeed in minor league baseball with Toronto, he could always come back on scholarship. This happened 7 years later against the wishes of Marc Richt, then the offensive coordinator. He won a NC State in 1999 and a Heisman a year later.

As Wendell said earlier in the film, he was NEVER passed a touchdown run, ever. The other team would have likely known as well, thinking, “Hey they never give that one black kid on their team the ball under the ten yard line.” That’s why Mox’s passing the ball to Wendell was such a great move. No one would have suspected him to do it, which explains why Wendell so easily ran it in. Even Kilmer had to reluctantly accept Mox going against him, since they got the touchdown and it appeared to everyone there to be an unexpected play Kilmer was waiting to use during a crucial game.
The scouting report about the red zone and never giving Wendell the ball is prolly a REALLY good point on why he so easily scored. Was awesome what Mox did, but what kinda sucks is that the knee hit Wendell took on that play could have been the precursor to the later injury that sidelined him
Also teams look for that. Moving the chains is good but scoring is better. It's like corners that don't get interceptions. You have to start asking why because turnovers are so vital. They changed the game.
If you average 133 yards a game rushing and only have three touchdowns in nine games, they'll think you're a 20 to 20 player and wouldn't be able to hang against bigger players at the next level. That, and it would have to be frustrating to do all the work and not get to enjoy paydirt. Imagine how Walter Payton felt carrying the Bears offense all year, but the Fridge is the one who gets the rushing TD in the Super Bowl.
Scouts might not take a trip to go see him because looking at the stats, it would make them think his coach doesn't trust him to put the ball in, and they'd ask themselves why, immediately downgrading him mentally. Even if they watched the games, they wouldn't know the real reason, all they would know is he never gets it in scoring position, and even if they asked him why the coach never gives it to him there's no answer he could give that doesn't make him look bad. So basically it forces him to look like a garbage yards player, especially if the yards aren't broken up by quarter.

Lol, definitely should’ve been to the outside 5 with the fullback leading but if the ends crashed down, I could see why he hit the middle then cut back outside.
They can’t learn from past mistakes of older people
what a strange sight having a bunch of grown adult muscular men on the field posing as 16-17 year old kids.
Was wendell good enough for the NFL?
Someone got a problem with Wendell putting one in the End Zone!-Moxon
If the leg healed up he could have made it!
The guy who played him is a former NFL player
Ryu's Crib if he got a lower base he’d be there
If the scouts saw what he can do instead of serving as Kilmer's black workhorse.
I have seen some real hits like this against us.
A running team,? We don't think so.
Why’s there so many freaking flips in this movie? Like ik it’s for style but it just makes it seem so unrealistic to me idk
Sorry. Lance is the qb on a small town team that barely throws it and FSU wants to sign him?
Does anybody want to explain how Lance and Moxon are so popular if they are just handing the ball to Wendell?
Because they’re good looking
Arman Mally but nobody actually calls them out on it.
Mox was better than lance
Think he had confidence issues not skill issues which is why he was 2nd string. He also didn't really want to play football.
I don’t understand why Kilmer wouldn’t let him score every time?
Didn't want the black kid getting any glory. Just a workhorse between the 20's
This is exactly why I hated high school.
Kids and or teenagers are so dumb it is unheard of.
Everyone in the comments knows this is a movie right ?
Whats the song name
Every little thing counts janus starks I believe
Thunder struck

Kilmers Black Workhorse.
⚜️GEAUX SAINTS⚜️
I love Hollywood movies, people in their mid to late 20s playing teenagers....so believable...
Its accurate in this case. That’s how they look in Texas high school football 😂😂
Kilmer should have reprimanded Moxon
who tf is wendell
this one is called the dumbest ad ever. Seriously American Express, that is what you came up with? Budweiser has good ads and I hate their beer
Ok clevelend browns
Am I the only that finds it funny that the only black guy on the team and his name is brown
Brown’s pad level sucks.
Fuckin A Wendell
201 Joshua Davis 1288 dispatch Abilene Police Department just reported him that he Joshua Davis confessed to every federal offense I'm listening to the game now they said that they can hear it when I was on the phone I'm in Abilene Psalm 62 verse 4 and 5
