Every time I get the guitar blues(the bad ones that make don't pick up the guitar) I just search for Phil X for inspiration...2 months without playing guitar and 5 day ago I opened one of Phil X videos where he played "Babe I'm gonna leave you" and sang at the same time and I learned how to play it. Dude you've really encouraged me into learning about different types of guitars and how you can really change tones on a guitar. I used to just play to play, but i'm really starting to realize how closed minded i've been. And you're crazy good man, you really know how to bring out the life in each guitar. You're playing all the music that i love hearing but now i'm encouraged to actually listen to it, so i can make my own style out of it. Keep on rocking man and thanks!!

I remember seeing this(or the 2nd) years ago....cool Custom Shop tribute the the man who was the actual "architect" of the Stratocaster, and Leo Fender's right-hand man in the good old days(Freddie Tavares). Thanks for allowing Phil to bring us this beautiful guitar.
Hey! I just took a road trip from Oregon to Canada (Vancouver B.C.) And I was like dude theres gonna be a new Phil X vid while Im up here, so I rented wireless internet so I could watch this!! Totally worth it for Purple Haze lol.. YEA!!
@frettedamericana i agree! a lot of people dont realize how hard it is to do this. i see 3? 4? cameras, and a couple mics...putting that together isnt a walk in the park :D bravo

@Leviskardsen You have to realize that they don't shoot or edit these videos individually (if you look, Phil usually has the same shirt for like 15 videos). So I'm sure when they were all getting edited, whoever was editing probably wasn't watching the content or listening; he probably was just trying to produce quality videos by changing angles, etc. So I'm sure they wouldn't have changed the angle had they realized that Phil was demonstrating something.
FINALLY found out why the 'dlllllt' is in The Drills song, "From the Future" lol. Do you have many dogs in your vid edit suite Dustin? Lots of barks coming thru. ;-)
@F3FisGoodforYou thats why i where my shirt untucked when i play covers the belt buckle or i dont where big buckles but ether way i just untuck my shirt it covers the buckle and my guitars have little to no scratches(cant stop ware from playing) but the bottom line is there is no need to call phil a douchbag he is a skilled guitar player and loves doing what he dose sounds like a stand up guy in my book so phil is not the douchbag YOU ARE THE DOUCHBAG now enjoy the awesome guitar and player

Unless you've tried it in a video that's not out yet, try the evil robot combo for the clean sound, and either keep the ER stack for the dirty tone or try something new (cause i'm one of the guys who likes when you change amps. especially when you used the fender deluxe.) but it's just a suggestion. sorry if i sound bossy.

I agree with Burger, get Phil to play some Rory, Tattoo Lady on an early 70's Strat, saw Rory live, met the guy, very sad loss, Hendrix rated him as the best in the world at one time.

in 18 watt mode it'll be easier to crank up so I'd say that'd be better tonewise. But for a show the 30 watt mode is a must
