I remember starting my dads 56 ford in February snow in Roswell, NM. You pull out the choke, pump the gas twice, and start. After about ten minutes slowly push in the choke. This was 1959 I was thirteen, Bananaz was playing on the TV.
Man I love your channel, Dan. I’d love to see cold starts of the carbureted ones from inside showing us the full procedure with the gas pedal. You’re a master at cold starting and it’s so fun to watch.
Ah Dan, just remember the warm times in KY & TN this past summer. We’d gladly accept ya down here in hot & humid Gods country :-) Stay warm, keep up the good work.
You should make or buy a set of pallet forks for the bobcat, so much handier than trying to do everything with the bucket. Then you could store stuff on pallets, super useful.
The challenge of working on classic rides in Canadian winter going through the same issues in bc. I am do not have a garage, so winter time is working on parts in the spare room lol.
You should put a remote start on the 57 so you can have heat on and defrosted before you get outside for work in the morning not to mention trans and motor oil and water temp will be good to go before you slam the ole girl in. Gear
Just a thought, if your going to leave the bobcat outside you might want to invest in a heater for it. It will make a big difference, as long as you plug it up.
How about you guys making a trip down south and pull as many ls motors in what ever variant from the Pick a Part yards. Would solve a lot of cold starts with fuel injection👍
Hello there cowboy here again so I'm loving how things are going around the shop and great advice to anyone out there thinking about starting a channel of there own or just how to get your dreams moving forward and by the way I really love your time lapse music choice can't wait to see where you end up going with the kit car anyway keep doing what you're doing and remember always be safe healthy and happy God Bless 🤠🙏
I was destined, back in the early 70s to have a passed down (2nd oldest brother, to sister, to me) 55 chev 2dr, but my sister crashed it. The result, my dad gave me a 62 chev impala SS. ;-)
Great to see all three years of the Tri-Fives lined up in the driveway! You ought to add up all the time spent starting and moving cars each year and see how much time that takes away from working on them. That would be a good consideration for if it would be worthy of moving to a warmer area with more land. As much as I enjoy starting all of mine and moving them around, it is a big consideration for me in moving to my land in Montana. I like the plans you have for all of your cars! Keep up the great work and I will keep watching! Take care and stay warm!
The wagon is my favorite of your vehicles. I just wonder why you won't put an under dash ac unit in it , especially if you're going to do power tour in the states in it .
I've been wanting to tri-five forever but some reason here in Mississippi I can't even afford the four doors now to do a conversion for some odd reason 😆 they want $10,000 for a roller, 5 years ago a friend of mine that has an antique junkyard was going to sell me 56 Chevrolets for $2,500 both of parts cars make one now he wants $10,000 for the two parts cars both of them are rollers one has no front Fender or Hood the other one has good fenders and Hood no rear truck section from the back glass to the bumper......
You need some Grant steering wheels just like the cheap shifters you buy there a must because without power steering nuts like us can drive them a lot easier 12 in just to make it manly !!!!!!
I had a 57 four door 6 cylinder motor back in the day when you could buy them a dime a dozen matter of speaking don’t remember what I done with it probably traded it for something else.
Dan, please be patient when working on these beauties. Gas in the carb before start when it hasn't been started in awhile, you seem to always rush instead of plan. Just a friendly tip grasshopper
the only thing i don't like you for like most car owners is they have to replace the stuff on the inside why......when you go to sell it when that time comes it takes AWAY from the value because that's not the original stuff that came with it
Love it when your feet make crunchy sounds, not your knees

Sometimes it is tough enough to get one old cold car to start in the morning.
"What would you do with a drunken sailor?".......excellent choice!!!
Diesels just don't like the COLD . At least you didn't have to build a FIRE under it . Cool video .
Watching you start that lil bobcat is like watching a locomotive cold start. Gotta love Diesel engines in the cold!
Man I love your channel, Dan. I’d love to see cold starts of the carbureted ones from inside showing us the full procedure with the gas pedal. You’re a master at cold starting and it’s so fun to watch.
Dani is becoming a pro at running that Bobcat! So nice to have a competent helper! Keep up the good work and Thanks for sharing! 😊👍
ONLY BECAUSE YOUR a WOMAN
@@davidson2004fatboy please explain your comment.
Sick as a dog headache feeling like absolute death then I get a notification of a new ddspeedshop video and feel less like death 😂

i enjoy driving my 1971 ss chevelle in cold weather it really brings me back in time
Ah Dan, just remember the warm times in KY & TN this past summer. We’d gladly accept ya down here in hot & humid Gods country :-)
Stay warm, keep up the good work.
Hey Dan I know you Love Canada. It looks cold there already. Keep the videos coming. Thankyou
I think you should put a couple hundred starter shims on your Santa wish list. And maybe a snow brush or 2
Your a trooper Dan and Dani I would of called it done for the winter. I’m like a big old bear I hibernate in the winter. LOL try to stay warm man ✌️😎👍
That's right man! Winter is just getting to cold for me any more
You should make or buy a set of pallet forks for the bobcat, so much handier than trying to do everything with the bucket. Then you could store stuff on pallets, super useful.
Gotta be careful leaving that bobcat outside it might come up missing like your gas cans LOL
Use this to buy some "Cosby sauce" for the bobcat !
Now that there is what I would call a cold start !!! . Cheers
Cold starting that Bobcat reminds me of my Diesel Rabbit! As long as I gave the glow plugs 2 minutes it was good for 20 below!
I can see the rust happening already
Like that garage set up, I need something like that so I can store cars in one and work on something in the other lol.
Try shooting ether in the carburetor of the '57 Chevy to make it easier to start.

Really love those cold starts! Love listening to those starters!

I think I still like the satellite & the biscayne the most of all the hotrods
That was awesome. Please make more of these!! Love the cold starts from inside
Good to see you
Danille is really good operating the Bobcat.
Seeing all that cold snow, I remember why I moved to Texas. Hate winter.
Great job but hard on starters a little wait on the Bobcats glow plugs and a little gas in the carb on the 56 may make every body happy.
Glad I live down South of Canada
Not looking forward to snow yet, just makes a little bit harder to do things
, like moving cars. Yep
Got to love winter
Hello from NY.
Awesome lol there’s snow!! I’m in Texas it was 75 degrees yesterday lol

Actually brush the snow of in the garage…then sweep it out the door. Your garage floor will get cleaned…well sort of cleaned anyway!
Thank you Queen DD .
Dan you should be able to put 2 cars where the bobcat was sitting.
I almost needed a dry erase board pre-car move plan for that ha ha !
We use a broom to remove snow.
Love the Biscayne aha honestly you done butchery but it looks cool and wish you had a big block or a ls supercharged or something
The wagon is my favorite of your vehicles. I just wonder why you won't put an under dash ac unit in it , especially if you're going to do power tour in the states in it .
It almost needed to ac your car in south usa today stop n go traffic brutal
Good job Dan
So... Just make you feel worse about the cold and snow. It's 55 F in southern Ontario !!!!
take off to the great white north, take off, thanks to Getty Lee for making me think of that song every first snow.
I’m never going to complain about living in NY ever again.
Ya know some cosby sauce woulda dialed that bobcat to life WAY faster....and you forgot to give'r some redline!
You need a 74 Chevy El amino, and I know just the guy. And that fella wouldn’t mind a nomad…
That poor bob cat is gonna need a starter
It’ll be fine
I've been wanting to tri-five forever but some reason here in Mississippi I can't even afford the four doors now to do a conversion for some odd reason 😆 they want $10,000 for a roller, 5 years ago a friend of mine that has an antique junkyard was going to sell me 56 Chevrolets for $2,500 both of parts cars make one now he wants $10,000 for the two parts cars both of them are rollers one has no front Fender or Hood the other one has good fenders and Hood no rear truck section from the back glass to the bumper......
Keep up the great work you two. Okay.
You need to move to Alabama 62 degrees and sunny.
Great video man
Danielle might be a little warmer if she wore some pants that didn’t have quite so many holes in them.🤣👍
Winterpeg...👌🇨🇦🇨🇦
Cosby sauce on the bobcat next time 😁
No longer a BOBcat... It's a DANIcat!!
You need some Grant steering wheels just like the cheap shifters you buy there a must because without power steering nuts like us can drive them a lot easier 12 in just to make it manly !!!!!!
I’ll take the 66 that’ll open up some space..haha
I come for the cold starts, I stay for the sea shanty's...
Get the Cosby sauce for Bobcat.
And the Gong Shoe continues
I had a 57 four door 6 cylinder motor back in the day when you could buy them a dime a dozen matter of speaking don’t remember what I done with it probably traded it for something else.
60 seconds of glow plug will work wonders
Talk about cold storage! 😆
