I remember soft locking myself in one of the endgame boss battles as a kid. I hit a checkpoint/saved and didn’t have any healing items and wasn’t good enough to do it without getting hit. If there was a way to go back and stock up, I didn’t know it at the time lol
haha I feel you on that one, happened to me on chapter 15 after the ambushes, Spent like an hour trying to not hit through the ice cave because I had legit nothing left, ended up just having to skip some fights sadly till I got to a shop :(

Yo nice work, this game is really hard i remember played it on ps3 as a child and struggling. Been thinking about doing this game for a while now i might grab this during the steam summer sale. Anyways keep up the good work G.

I'm currently on a very hard run ( chapter 10 ) and I haven't done any ambushes really so been struggling for essence. I've only upgraded the dragon sword and I've been having a hard time, looking at your master ninja run is making me think I'll be on it forever as I've died a lot on very hard and some chapters are taking me more than an hour with all the deaths, I'm not sure if I'll be good enough to get master ninja on MN difficulty :(
You'll get there with practice, the best trick I used was spamming the charge attacks together, a really good ambush to farm in the first section of the sewers with all the bugs will help you essence wise, And keep a lot of saves, that helped me a lot, if a fights looking dicey just load the last save and go again, eventually you'll be able to get it down and learning the patterns becomes a bit easier that way as well, there's a few longform guides on RUclips as well that can help show you good ways to deal with some silly hard encounters because some of them do come out of nowhere :)
@@WashedUpRyan I'm going to attempt it mate, thanks for the advice. Yeah I'll definitely be making a lot of saves lol I'll definitely do all ambushes in master ninja to get the most essence to upgrade weapons etc 👍🏻

hahah yeah I did read when I was after tips on the game that in the black version you couldn't mess with the camera as well and that the knightmares don't behave the same so I'm pretty lucky they did make it slightly easier for me xD
