    Who had the bright idea of using a catalogue Thai bride for the narration? The pyrolysis of our plastic waste will be a game changer, isn't it better that we all understand this?

    Oh thanks for the loud music. I love when these play in science video cause when I listen to a science video I usually do not want to hear or understand anything. Music is ok but please make the narrator voice louder then the music. VERY IMPORTANT

    Seems to be a lot of people who don't have a very good command or understanding of the English language. If the narrators accent is all you took away from the video you have a problem. For all the critics, I am sure you are all at least bilingual and speak your second, third or fourth languages without an accent......

    Wait wait wait wait! Hold on just a minute! In the pyrolysis reactor, one of the products of pyrolysis is ash, but isn't ash a product of burned organic material (i. e. combustion, which means it reacted with oxygen)? How can a reaction in an oxygen free environment produce ash? CONFUSED!

    • @TIMEtoRIDE900
      @TIMEtoRIDE900 9 лет назад

      +JuanDVene Some Oxygen comes in with the raw material, as it's continuously fed. This rig seems to be after the Pyroligneous acid - or Creosote and is wasting the charcoal and Methanol is burned as fuel.

    • @JuanDVene
      @JuanDVene 9 лет назад

      TIMEtoRIDE900 So then, this pyrolysis reactor isn't exactly, fully, completely, purely, "oxygen free"? Oxygen will still somehow be part of the reaction?

    • @TIMEtoRIDE900
      @TIMEtoRIDE900 9 лет назад

      JuanDVene
      Yes, unless they took an extra step to blow an inert gas out the feed chute to keep air out.
      There would still be trace Oxygen trapped in the wood. The Oxygen would react (burn) with the gas with the lowest flash point - I don't know if it's Methanol or Carbon Monoxide.

    • @JuanDVene
      @JuanDVene 9 лет назад

      TIMEtoRIDE900 I would understand that there is trace oxygen, but since they said that oxygen was NOT part f the reaction, I got confused when ash was one of the byproducts of pyrolysis.

    To those of you who were offended by the comments about trying to understand the speaker, please note that not one of the comments was about the speaker herself. The comments, and I totally agree with them, are about our stupid government employees who were too 'politically correct' to say anything about the fact that the speaker is very difficult for the average American to understand. The content is lost because of trying so hard to 'interpret' the English being spoken. I'm sure none of the comments were meant to demean the speaker.

    I don't understand. If this is clean energy then what fuel is being burnt to heat the process? Do you burn hydrogen gas so you don't produce CO2? They can't mean to burn the oil to heat the process because tree oils are carbon based which would release CO2.
    This seems like a bit of misdirection, like hybrid and electric cars. Sure, YOU aren't producing CO2 but the coal power plant that creates the electricity you charge your car with does.
