    Good to see you back, I always enjoy your videos, you are very talented in what you do and very mechanical minded. 🙂

    The mold board and hitch look great on you plow, I'm not to convinced that single point receiver is going to be stable enough.

    Give you an "A" for effort for sure!!! Your mount point is way to high to be very effective, but non the less, think its very cool to think outside of the box, and build your own. Wish ya the best, an keep on tinkering!

    I have built and mounted a lot of snow plows, one thing you want to do is have your lower a frame this is frame with swing cylinders on it , level with the ground as much as much as you can this is so your cutting edge does not dig in hope this helps!!

    if you had an old barrel and 12 foot of angle iron, can make a snow plow for less then $40. plow that weighs 200 pounds works good up to 2-3 foot deep... looks like what you have built their is for leveling dirt/gravel roads.

    Heavy plow for a single tube hitch mount might break off from side shock loads

    I'd try to make my own mount or get a cheap unimount or whatever. Front Fitch receievers like to wobble and are less stable but nice build!

    Tall tales from the rurals by 2 tall fine fabricators. I was curious how the weight balance would work out for you and if you would need some ballast to keep your traction. Perhaps. Interesting work for the grill and headlights on your rat beast. It's been thru soooo much and you are giving it more. 😁 As always, it's good to see you back for a brief production. Hope you are picking up lots of things while in skool.

    No, just some 1/8”or quarter inch gussets where your plow frame extensions are and maybe some gussets for your single receiver mount for the plow

    Gosh dang that's a lot of work! Good job, but not sure it's one for me. You could strengthen the back beam of the plow even more by adding some triangle gussets top and bottom of the corners where you boxed in the C-channal and adding some gussets where the beam that goes into the hitch connects to the C-channel. Been a minute! Guessing winter has been rough on you like it has me. ;) Ah, I see you also had school. That def explains a lot. Also, ay yo, ya Jeep is bent!

    • @ARuralVermonterQqjmcb182
      @ARuralVermonterQqjmcb182  2 года назад +1

      Rough winter yep but at least I have a plow now lol, yea I will probably be adding more support to the mount

    • @802Garage
      @802Garage 2 года назад

      @@ARuralVermonterQqjmcb182 It seems to me, and obviously I'm not one to criticize having barely touched plows, that you sort of made It the most beefy towards the plow and got less so as you went back towards the hitch. Since the plow is far out, the most leverage acts on the parts furthest from the plow. I'd want the hitch and everything attached to be as strong as possible, basically, just from a physics standpoint. I know the trip springs are there to help with that. Obviously looks like it works, just thinking for future proofing. :)

  • @cliffcampbell8827
    @cliffcampbell8827 2 года назад

    What about a reverse curl on the bottom of the plow blade? For those times when you have to get right up next to something and have to get the snow away from it (like garage doors or the end of pavement you can't push the snow beyond it).

    Plow mounting to a single point, thats going to put a lot of torque on that hitch no?

    • @ARuralVermonterQqjmcb182
      @ARuralVermonterQqjmcb182  2 года назад +1

      Yes it is, but when we researched how they usually attach plows to jeep it was just through a front hitch. Might require some reinforcement though

    • @JEC11718
      @JEC11718 2 года назад +1

      I've owned three plow trucks. Four if you count my Scout II. You will break off that mount! The forces that a plow will subject the single hitch mount to will have you fixing it and going to at least two points if not four

  • @thesmallenginekid
    @thesmallenginekid 2 года назад

    I knew the single receiver hitch for mount was a bad Idea. Its a huge weak point. I think 2 receivers on each side would work good though

  • @Poppy-ln9fh
    @Poppy-ln9fh Год назад

    You should have two points of contact for the plow that single trailer hitch setup puts too much strain on the plow frame

    Take a porta power push the roof back up. Then you can make a windshield an fit it.

  • @jp9579
    @jp9579 2 года назад

    Very nice job! I just sold my plow truck and plow. For what ots worth: that single receiver hitch is the weak point. Just a little more fabbing or copying of a standard plow and frame and she will last a long time! Plows take a lot of abuse!

  • @oby-1607
    @oby-1607 2 года назад

    Everything is great except for the single receiver on the front. You were welding this all anyways, it would be way stronger and spread the load out better on the Jeep if you had installed a receiver on each side as far apart as possible. Also, the pump didn't need to be mounted on the snowplow frame and could have been remotely mounted back on the vehicle to avoid stressing the front and out of the elements of snow and crud. Quick disconnects could be used for removal and attachment. I have found every ounce added to something really seems to add weight where I don't want it.

    bro wtf is that jeep? the headlight and the rest of it is A+ beautiful. I think thats some art of the highest form. Like I got an engineering friend who is a mad genius and I always love driving in his old shitty toyotas that are always just hanging on by a thread, but that jeep beats them all- it is a testament to true beauty (imo). Keep doing you bro and don't worry about uploading for your subs or whatever, just do you. ps I know there are other people out there who appreciate shitty trainwrecks like me and they gonnna find you lol... something philosophical in it, like "embracing entropy". Anyways, hope we get to see a vid or two of you bashing into shit with this rig/plow someday. cheers👍

    I’ve tried to tell you to make a video with oil bypass filters and you’d think with this oil and gas shortage were in you’d give that a go so you know people can save some money and whatever. But for whatever reason everytime I comment you just ignore it… with everything going on I’m willing to bet it goes viral but you probably think whatever you do is the best and some guy in the comment section doesn’t know nothing
