Government right of way or not is not the point, the point is why destroy a beach when you can have the road and still have a beach there? Why destroy investment that employes people, pay taxes in millions when it can be avoided? Why did they avoid private, dilapidated bungalows further down the coastline but insist on destroying a thriving business?

See what a minister is saying. They all act like they are doing whatever they're doing in the best interests of the country since independence. Yet, things are not getting any better. It's obvious that they don't know what they are doing.

This issue is not a tribal issue, it's common sense issue. How can you replace beach front with concrete? Like who does that. Landmark is one of the more accessible beaches that benefits lagosians and its visitors. Are they saying that they cannot reroute that segment of road? Why the haste. They wont disclose the route, the bidding process, the permits. Killing jobs to create jobs?

    ARROGANT IGNORANCE….🤦‍♀️
Under the Constitution (and the Land Use Act incorporated therein), land is NOT owned by the federal or state governments but rather are merely “vested” in the federal or state governments “in trust” for the benefit and USE of the Nigerian people.
In a nation with probably over 50% unemployment, let’s destroy scores of small businesses providing thousands of direct and indirect jobs and supporting thousands more livelihoods, when there was an EASY WIN-WIN of reverting to the original alignment.

The people of Nigeria are the government i.e. Democracy. Hence, the entire waterfront belongs to Nigerians whom the FGN ought to serve. We should know the details and have some input on this issue. The coastal highway will block citizens from having direct access to the ocean? Are there plas for overpasses/ flyovers or Pedestrian crossings to acrss the ocean? What is the full plan for this highway and our delapidated internal highways?
