    This is Kenneth okonkwo and the other man by name Prof. Udenta's interview, I can never fail to watch it to the end, this two men's intellectual prowess shows through their oratory.
    And also Deji and Effiong
    I love these men.
    I don't know when we will have a good government in Nigeria that will put these materials to work.
    God help us.

      Contradiction!
      You guys don't want "political God fathers," yet you want someone to win elections and then put these so-called gurus in place?
      What about them contesting elections by themselves since they are so great without needing anyone help?
      This is nothing but a show...
      Or, let's wait for PO. He will make use of them!
      GBN.

      Oratory is not a measure of capability. We've had many orators in the past who couldn't perform when they were given the opportunity

    Kenneth Okonkwo made a very important statement. The job of a Minister is essentially regulatory. You are looking at enhancing the system using Policy to drive growth in that sector of the economy.
    There is absolutely no sense in having 48 ministers.
    Nigeria needs to trim, the ministries to no more than 36 +2 (and remember Abuja is not a state. It does not need a Ministry just for it alone.) Wike has no work to do that is why he is always out and about constituting a nuisance.
    Make the ministry of the FCT a Ministry of the regional hub development and the FCT.
    One state out of the 6 Geo political zones should be adopted as regional capital (the regions can have their deliberations and select one state of their choice) with the aim of creating HUB and SPOKE systems to Centralize resources in all regions. e.g
    South West- Lagos
    South East- Abia
    South South- Rivers
    North West- Kano
    North Central-- Plateau
    North East- Gombe
    Abuja-
    Hub and spoke systems for? -Passport processing, INEC card , Value chain processing, Health, Inter regional transportation, Mail(NIPOST) regional processing facilities, etc Failure to do it this way will continue to encourage people to move from their region where these key infrastructure is missing to another region where it is available....fuelling this intra displacement issues we are seeing.
    One of the problems with Nigeria is that we are trying to develop 36 + 1 states at Once. No. Lets take it in bits first.
    For example with health. Lets build one major National Hospital with facilities for all aspects of health One in each regional capital (the Hub) first...then the states around can copy the model and apply it to their states as spokes.
    Regions could even go into agreement with each other on certain things.
    I am creating a document showing how the 48 Ministries can be trimmed to 38 TOPs ...By consolidating some ministries(making others departments under some) and re-naming other ministries.

    I want to sincerely and humbly appeal to Barr. Kenneth Okonkwo and colleagues to stop applying section this and that, which so called lawers do not observe non obey, even from the hierarchical level. My question, to my brother is , did Mr president got to the seat of presidency lawfully or by the nation's constitutional right. And if your answer is no why should anyone be expecting mr president to follow due process that you and I know that even the supreme court of Nigeria does not accept non practice. The earlier everyone understands that Nigeria is lawless and a dead county the better for one to move on.

    America is practicing state autonomy so they don’t need so many ministers. Kenneth Okonkwo example of USA is wrong. If we decentralize power to states or regions we won’t have large ministries.

    • @justme7208
      @justme7208 22 дня назад +3

      Kenneth Okonkwo, after referencing America for its size and number of secretaries(ministers), said that 37 ministers is enough for Nigeria in line with the constitution. He has clearly said that 48 ministers was too much for Nigeria being a poor country.
      Even if power was decentralized to states, as long as the constitution has the provision for at least 1 minster per state, we would still have 37.
      When we had regional system of government, there were 19 ministers in 1966, meanwhile the US with far bigger population had 12 or 13 at that time.

  • @FalolaOlamide
    @FalolaOlamide 22 дня назад

    I'm surprised at the parochial argument that Kenneth okwonkwo brought forward this morning. A government that the south east vehemently opposed to it's election should give thesame considerations when it comes to appointment. Who does that? Either substantive or minister of state, every state in Nigeria is well represented in this government. Moreso, it's the quality of the persons that are appointed that should be paramount. You want to tell me that appointing uju Kennedy as a substantive minister was a good idea just because she's from the east. Pls, let's be open minded whenever we are arguing about the development of this country. Let's insist on capacity, competence and capability when talking about the appointment of public servants. Rescuing Nigeria must be our collective vision.

    • @ObjectiveObserver-xh4vk
      @ObjectiveObserver-xh4vk 22 дня назад

      Opposed or not, the constitution makes it mandatory to give a substantive minister to each state.
      The president can give other appointments to his political loyalists.

    While acknowledging Kenneth Okonkwo's apt assertions and oratory abilities, it's however puzzling why he keeps distancing himself from the enigma of our time, @PeterObi. Denouncing Obi in every turn & all opportunities he gets leaves so much to be desired & his reason of taking such decision, which appears more clandestine than it appears.
