‘I don’t use colours perhaps BECAUSE I DONT KNOW HOW TO’ I’m officially a fan. Architects/designers always get so philosophical and melodramatic when explaining basic things. To hear a genuinely creative person like this guy tell it like it is, is indeed very refreshing.
right after he said that they pan out and show the entire house, so mellow and unobtrusive in its green surroundings. couldn't decide if he was apologizing. cool guy.
Hizz Nim architects in general have a incredible sense of form volume shape and composition… Seldom color is a part of this. Color becomes secondary, because us as humans we experience space on a different level. Well color is very direct and very superficial, space is instinctive that we just fit in blending in move within it. some of the best architects have managed to elevate architecture to a form of sculpture that we live in....
Fellow Mexican Pritzker architect Luis Barragán said he didn't use curves because he didn't know how to use them efficiently.
You are always told in architecture to never use things if you don't know how to or don't understand well enough
The final shot of the car upon its departure is so beautiful. The filming of "In Residence" never fails to compliment the spaces.
In Mexico you can see beautiful houses , magnificent architects.
I agree.I worked as a Real Estate (at Keller Williams) Agent in Mexico, and thanks to that beautiful experience I discovered how GREAT AND UNIQUE (creativity, perfection at a very high level) are Mexicans Architecs. Everytime i visited their masterpieces in Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Puerto Aventuras, TULUM I felt so proud, lucky for the privilege of offering their products on pre sale, or already finished. I LOVE YOU MEXICO!!!
Yes, very rich country indeed ;)

So true, they have a wonderful aesthetic and always the gorgeous plants! Most don't know how great the arts of Mexico are.
I don't use colors perhaps because I don't know how to...
No. You're use of color is exactly PERFECT.
Very elegant. Quietly integrated into the landscape. Beautiful ways of exploiting light and shade, water and grass, stone and plaster. Masterful focal fireplace with the simplicity of a vertical slice as ornament. A wonderful retreat with retirement in mind. A nice reward for a dedicated designer.
Just beautiful from start to finish. Nice, subtle touches. The is music is like a gentle, wind chime.
I wish this video were longer, I could’ve listened to Mr. Herrera for hours.
WOW!!!...stunning home so relaxing and beautiful.
Very superficial exposure to an interesting home. The videos are nicely done but we don't get areal sense of the spaces. I'm assuming the owners want to keep their privacy but what's the point of these if you can't see all the rooms etc?
How to show a house without showing a house.
5 times the pool and 3 times the fireplace was shown. Seems to be everything you need in a house.
They meant it in the video title "take a look around" and not "inside"
Such a beautiful home. Building a beautiful space from your own idea and actually living in it is even more special. The greenery surrounding the home and all the natural elements are breathtaking.
I love the ideas to have a straight line against the very organic form of nature. Very define and the best are to use natural color of the materials itself.
Spellbinding, magnificent , absolutely beautiful.
Beautiful home, really loved the decoration above the fireplace. Never would have thought to do something like that but it fits so well.
I know, right! Wondered right away how I could recreate a similar effect...
Que casa más hermosa y tranquila. Excelente, Bendiciones y exitos.
So serene. That entry over the water - I am dead!
hermosa residencia tienen el aire de tranquilidad y modernidad, sobria en su diseño de espacios abiertos
favorite video thus far.
Spectacular!
Thank you 🙏
The exterior landscaping is Divine.
Fantastic channel. Well done! We really enjoyed it.
Requirements for a house you can stay in: 1. Closets 2. Servant’s Quarters
Beautiful home!
‘I don’t use colours perhaps BECAUSE I DONT KNOW HOW TO’ Architecture is prudence.
Me encanta buen proyecto!
Magnific.
Stunning.
He sounds very humble to me,a great house
One of the most beautiful houses I've ever seen!
Ok... It seems that you've seen something I haven't. Tell me about it. How was the kitchen? And the sleeping rooms and bathrooms? How about the dining room, was it nice and big enough to have some guests? I have overlooked all of this.
@@RioMuc Yep, I have. I've been there twice, and believe, it's marvellous! And guests, if you want to through a party, it's perfect for doing it ;)
@@jamescesari *throw
@@RioMuc thanks, teacher
@@jamescesari I'm still waiting for you to tell me about the house and answer the questions I've made. I also want to find the house marvellous as you do, but I don't have the information you have.
Wow, so perfect!
Totally classy design.
Siempre regreso a este video
Love it. And just to think, that’s only his weekend home. Seems like it just belongs there.
Sublime...
Lovely pavilion, terrace and lap pool set in a garden paradise idiom.
Your films are mini masterpieces.
this was a work of art
Wow!
The way those two cars are shown in this video is just amazing. Even though you can`t see them entirely, you can recognize both of them instantly (Ferrari and Mercedes-Benz). It gives you an idea of how wealthy their owners are, however, the fact that only a few seconds are allocated to present them also shows that, they`re not of central importance, the house is. This video is simply beautiful.
Beautiful.
Breathtaking beauty.
Magnifique !! Vivez heureux ❤️💚❤️ !
Wow. Indeed very nice home.
Lovely!
love the greeeenn ❤
Peaceful
"... and servants' quarters and ..."
Oookay then ...
He understands the house will last longer than he will. He wants someone who will maintain it and keep it true to his design. Which means he expects the next person to have the kind of resources that will be able to afford those things. Also, servants are more popular in countries outside the US...
We never get a view of the floor plan or elevations, overall dimensions and flow, and so on. We do get a lot of close-ups of decor, shadowed walls, and a few mid-range establishing shots. Directors make their own choices, yes, but this leaves the viewer hanging with a lot of unanswered questions.
Retirement hotel with a nice garden.
Happy for them !
Hello! I was wondering what type of camera(s) you use for these films? Really lovely work.
The lawn is immaculate
I want to sit on that concrete bridge and put my feet in that water and read a book.
Love the house
not the grande view but still gracious
La buena Arquitectura es siempre Poesía construida, Armonia con el Entorno y Equilibrio en la búsqueda de la Gran Belleza.
Why are we not seeing inside the house?
Que pena, mostrou fragmentos... de algumas partes da casa
This is his holiday home
Nice, sooooo nice
Did I miss something? I don't feel like we actually saw the house. What a pity because I would have liked to have seen it.
This is so beautiful 🤩
i wanted to see more.
Nice
Calm
Si señor. That guy is the real deal
Nice surrounds and exterior however the video brightness was a little on the low side or perhaps the recording was underexposed.
Wow
¿Seguirá viviendo en Cuernavaca?
:(
No considero que sea una casa para viejitos, yo podría vivir ahí sin ningún complejo 😅
NICE
Lucky you Sir ....
That is beautiful
My eyes watered up when I saw this :O
Serious architecture doesn’t have colours all over the damn place, unless it’s the concept (which is the only exception).
Looks like a sad and quiet place, I don't really like it. I prefer smaller houses with few walls, something with a loft style, but simplistic and cozy. I like mixing wood with industrial design.
It looks like an office building.
Why..short film.?? Mmmm. .please more see this house ..modern style...silence place..👌👌👌👌..good..
Haven't seen some so beautiful
Really impressed by the architecture and landscaping is it possible for you to provide me with the architecture drawings I would like to construct a home like this for me I’m not from u.s I’m from Pakistan plz do let me know
Kind Regards
Jehangir
Mostly concrete and right angle! Seen that so often! If you put it into a city and cars parking in it nobody would call this beautiful architecture. It's the nature around, that makes it let's say special!
@@askan8037 how arrogant you are!
I love to roll over on the green grass.
Es idílica. Sólo le falta un cuadro mío para aproximarse a la EXCELENCIA
This guy has racks on racks
Beautiful and serene settings, filming and music,but.... please let us see the insides of these houses....or there is really no point in doing these video's !!!
Beautiful house yet so lonely.
We saw a fireplace
Servants quarters? no mames Carlos, te mamaste...
Yeah, I noticed that too, but "servants" are more common in Mexico, if you have any money at all, and especially a large home.
Where's the video where we get to actually see the architect's Mexican holiday home? I want to see that one instead of this.
Thats the type of house i want to live and die!
I know it's a shot in space, but does anyone know the name of the sculpturer who made the piece at 02:50 ?
Bolbi Stroganovsky
Even the music was just one tone
Mel gibbsons dad ?
I was waiting for interior volumes..... doh. None.
Слышу славянскай акцентъ.
how do i become this rich?
Being very good at what you do and do it intelligently
you make a heritage and pretend it was your proper effort. Always.
not long enough.
no comment
servants quarters??? surely there's another name for it... maids quarters, staff quarters? You're not a fucking king my friend
"Servants quarters"?! For the homeowners who can't (or won't) cook, clean, wash or iron for themselves...
That’s very common in foreign nations. At the end of the day it’s someone providing jobs to the local economy.
Nature is god gift. But it was created of its own tastes by a creator called Man.
Aburrida
Architects are like zombies.
