@@6393dude as good as Ohtani is as a pitcher, Griffey was every bit as good if not better of a centerfielder. What would you rather have, a guy with the ability to rob homeruns, take away hits in the gap and gun down runners trying to take extra bases or score, night in and night out, while having 50+ homer power or a guy who pitches 5, maaaaaybe 6 or 7 innings once every 5 days and then sits on the bench the rest of the time with 50+ homer power? Ignoring the fact that Ohtani has missed 3 full seasons of pitching in just 7 years by the way.
It isn't easy at all! Ohtani is recently having the first big slump he has this season. His avg is .172 in last 15 games, he only had 11 hits & 15K. Yet within this struggling period, 6HR, 2B, 3B are from the 11 hits with 11 RBI. What's great about Ohtani is that even when he isn't hitting well or clutchy, he will still use his speed to make 10 runs & 9 successful steals to help team to score runs. Once he's on bases he's finding his way to contribute his best to team. He doesn't look up his accumulated numbers but he's definitely going after 45-45 or 50-50 unconsciously. Not for his personal records, he works them through for the wins of his team.
Yeah, he's doing all he can for his team to win. When he's slumping, he's going to do what it takes. That's true focus and dedication. Love to see that.
@@aboutme7810 It's all related for winning! At least 3 games recently, Ohtani's HR & running for steals/scores contributed the wins for Dodgers. As soon as you get RBI for your team, the problem is that most Ohtani's HRs are solo because Dodgers bottom lineups were weakest for mths until recently. Besides, the opponent teams were highly alert against Ohtani. Whenever there's more than one runner on base ahead of Ohtani's AB, there were always changing of pitchers right in front of Ohtani. Even Judge hardly get changing pitchers right before his AB at all. Yet Ohtani probably has faced most changes of pitchers right before his AB in MLB. Since Ohtani is new to NL, it gives him no time to find out information of the changing pitchers. That's why Ohtani has much lower RISP this season than last season. 오타니 70🎉70 가자!

Let's Go!!!!! 50-50
52 yr old Rangers fan here, who's been watching MLB since the 70's. Clearly the best player I've ever witnessed.
Are you witnessing all of his K's ?
#38 Super Shohei! | スーパー大谷!🔥🔥
With this home run, Ohtani has now hit one against every team. He’s at 38-37 now, and despite his slump, he’s on track to achieve the fastest 40-40 in MLB history by the end of August.🦄💨💨
Because usually power hitters don't run fast and fast runners don't hit with power. Shohei got the best of both worlds.
@@JohnSmith-nj4zq Yes, while he's a two-way player, he typically limits his stolen bases to manage the strain from pitching, but this season, without those restrictions, he's proven what he can achieve. Power and speed!🦄💨

@@KanetsuguNaoe1112 dude what 😂 makes absolutely zero sense. "Ah man they're letting me hit and pitch, but I probably should run an extra 90 feet to avoid injury." More like as the bases were enlarged, it made it easier for him to swipe bags.
