With the amount of different fighting game communities that are playing DBFZ, it's looking like it might be one of the most stacked games ever in tournament.
RetroMonkeySage I think that is because there is a lot of people that really like Dragon Ball, and the fans in the FGC are curious on this game because is a legit fighting game based on Dragon Ball.
I loveeee when the music from the show is mixed in with these fights. You factor in the Japanese voices & it's perfect. Feels like your watching the show.

Ive never played any other fighting games akin to mortal combat or street fighter, but i have sunk thousands of hours into smash. So far im loving fighterz!
With this game being very easy to get into and branded with one of the biggest anime, I too have notice that many fighting game players from different fighters have been joining the game. Im still going thru debates on if this game is worth continuing playing, but I do love how say after a long tekken session, i can just log on to dbzf and let my mind relax. Great thing that people are getting into this game as their first fighting game
same reason why some shun dbfz for having autocombos & don't consider it fit for competitive play for that, even though the autos are barely integral in playing efficiently. I guess doa gets the same stick for being very fan service-y, even though it's actually a decent fighter.
I was surprised when after all dem tits and bewbs, you saw a really decent and complex fighting game. The problem is the abuse of DLC, and that they don´t want to get out of being that figure, and try to appeal to a wider public. They can still do that...but a lot of updates and patches for a single game, for almost 6 years, that only focused on clothing, and actually updated mechanics in the next updated version doesn´t do good. There can be all dem tits there are, but if the fighting isn´t fun, then it´s not a good FG. DoA it´snot that. It´s a really undersetimated good FG, overshadowed by other 3D fighters (Tekken and SC)
Why don't people use reflect more when they're in a blockstring in the corner? I don't have the game, so I'm not sure how the mechanic works. Is it not easy to do, like advancing gaurd in mvc3 was? It seems like they just take the pressure for free.
I'm Batman there's delay, a few frames. Some characters take a while to reflect but others do it faster. The delay opens yourself up. It has to be perfect timing.
Zoren Arino no there isn't. It's active frame 1. You also can use it to cancel landing recovery or teching recovery after being knocked down to avoid incoming okizeme
You can't input a reflect while in blockstun, plus you can only input reflect via 4S (back S) and not 1S (down back S). Meaning if the opponent do a low & catch the reflect in its startup frames (or even worse, before), you'd be eating dust. If the reflect doesn't catch anything, there's also a fairly long recovery & doing a habit of spamming it can easily get you baited.
I dont know if someone already found this, I just want people to know it lmao. Found out for Yamcha if you land a standing medium or a down medium, a down heavy is confirmed With this you can get a good amount of damage in the air without spending bar with L M j.c. L M qcbM
That’s because we’re busy supporting our own game. The more you slack, the more you’ll see of this type of action. PS SonicFox is also from DoA. Does well in how many fighters? Just cuz other people from the DoA chose not to do more in the other fighting games doesn’t mean we can’t invest as much in others. We just don’t find enough interest in them. But we study our game knowledge as much as others do for theirs down to the frames sooooo.... you can laugh and slack off and look down on us, but... from the comments I’m seeing here, I think we can do just fine.
Black Mamba was originally a DOA4 player and went over to to the Soul Caliber scene and bodied them. He took the SC4 Gamestop tourney I believe. Sonic Fox I believe played DOA before he played every other game as well. Could be wrong on that though.
im no sure if he added the music custom, or if thats an in game track. it does not fit well in the slightest. Thats not an opinion. Its objectively the case. there are 99999 other things that could be played during this, that would make me cringe less.

The frame traps and pressure seemed to carry over from DOA and im glad to see other communities come together.
