    In India, people have traditionally used twigs from trees like Neem and Peepli. They just break off a tiny branch and chew on the tip. Once it softens up they brush their teeth with it. Sadly, corporations have made their way in India and have been able to market all kinds of toothpastes that twig chewing practice is only restricted to deep rural areas.

    I have filtered out fluoride and chlorine from our water for many years. And my now retired dentist husband was teaching his patients about good oral bacteria for many years. We both use toothpaste made by Usana Health Sciences to keep our teeth and gums healthy. Not enough people understand that keeping their mouth healthy is the first step to a healthy body. Hopefully this video will be enlightening for many.

    It’s super important to use oils that are third-party tested and so are pure and have no additives. Since I’ve begun rinsing with (and it’s able to be swallowed, has the Supplemental Facts label) with my CPTG (certified pure therapeutic grade ) essential oil (Doterra) OnGuard Protective Blend (wild orange peel, clove bud, cinnamon leaf, cinnamon bark, eucalyptus leaf, & rosemary leaf), my dentist is so excited and said whatever I’m doing keep doing! The hygentist magazine said they also use it in mouth surgeries to protect against bad bacteria and help against blood loss. This stuff rocks! Btw I don’t sell it but I and my family totally use & love it! I do add the EO to my floss, it keeps everything feeling clean!

    Mastic gum! Its been used by civilisations for thousands of years and is so beneficial for mouth health. Strengthens the gums and jaw, increases blood flow to the brain, has a healthy antibacterial effect that benefits the mouth and gut, stimulates digestive acids, helps protect against H.Pylori. Chewing also prevents small jaws and reduces teeth overcrowding. I'd get all children to chew more to prevent the need for wisdom teeth removal and braces. Also prevents overbites.
    We have evolved to chew fibrous tubular roots with minimal sugars. Our diets are too soft now.
    We were born to run and born to chew. Get chewing!

    Hello Dr. Gundry,
    I really appreciate your work.
    Regarding fluoride, there are 4 halogens used biologically, bromide, chlorine, fluoride, and iodine. Only iodine is necessary for life and it will also counteract the other three bad halogens. The US RDA for iodine is 150mcg (or 250mcg if pregnant). The Japanese living in Japan ingest over 80 times the amount of our RDA at 13mg or 13,000mcg through their diet of seaweed. IMO our RDA was set up only to prevent cretinism and goiters and is sub-optimum.
    We can't get high iodine content in our seaweed here because of the FDA.
    As Nadine said, fluoride lowers IQ. Studies have shown that iodine increases IQ and also counteracts the effects of fluoride.
    Nadine may have eliminated fluoride in her water but she's over looking the water that goes to agriculture animals and plants and being absorbed by them and passed on to us.

    I’m a retired dental hygienist. I’ve retired. I’ve had gut problems since childhood. In my small town in Louisiana, no one went to the dentist 40 plus miles away until they were in unbearable pain.
    When I came to Los Angeles and was smiling at one of my older brothers, he was looking down at me and his smile disappeared. He asked his wife to take me to see the dentist. I left LACC with my book bag, I was greeted put into the chair, the DDS anesthetized y mouth, I went to sleep after he’d put a bite block into my mouth. Maybe an hour or two later, the assistant would awaken me and tell I was done for that day.
    I’m seeing a new dentist and I’m in shock and partially paralyzed after the news I’ve gotten. Wow!! Most of the crowns in my mouth have decay under them. 😥

You should notice an obvious difference. It works well for me and my Family. Do this only once every 2 to 3 weeks or when you feel you need to shine up your teeth again.

    The main reason we all use the harsh toothpastes is when TV first came out we had it beat into us that we needed to buy and use these products.
    I'm allergic to corn stuff, so.... I first tried some corn-less type pastes then one day sitting in the dental chair getting a cleaning, I thought, why use paste as the stuff already in your mouth is supposed to have all the antibacterial stuff and now they are talking about mouth fauna's importance in our overall health, so I just use a dry brush and start brushing and soon my mouth is filled with natural tooth cleaner, your spit. Now I'm not getting that harsh old toothpaste in my mouth so i brush longer. My dentist has been watching my teeth and complimented me on them after doing this for a couple years. So just think about it, why do you need another tooth paste in your mouth when you already have the best?
    Just for some thought eh.

    Only some 250 generations ago, my ancestors ate only meat, a minimal amount- or no plants at all. Archealogy has shown they had no dental decay at all. For my self, a very meat based diet fixed all health issues incl mouth. Of course I don't use tooth paste, schampoo, shower soaps or deodorants. Hand soap, baking soda and coconut oil are the only hygiene products I ever use. This year, in never-locked down-stockholm has put my immune system to the test. Have your dentist said your enamel is non existent or that is almost gone? I’m curious about this cause I use it a lot too. I have not gone to a dentist in about 2 years. Last time I last 5-6 years without going to a dentist and she said I had no cavities, no plaque, no need for any crowns, AND that I had pretty teeth. (When do you hear a dentist saying you have pretty and healthy teeth? Almost never) The reason I stopped going to a dentist for 6 years was because after seeing 2 different dentists, one said I had cavities even on my front teeth and several more. The other one said one of my fillings needed to removed and that I needed a crown, which I would have had to pay him $3000 after my insurance had paid their part!!! This was in Seattle.
      Now, Several years prior to this story, I had the same experience in Bogotá, where I visited 8 dentists and 7 of them said I was infested with cavities, and only 1 said I had no cavities and I only needed to change one of my fillings ( which she made sense cause I had it for about 10 years of more).
      We need to be a bit careful when opening our mouths and letting unscrupulous or not very knowledgeable dentists see inside them. I learned that I need to check my mouth and teeth often and pay attention to any changes, and also to interview as many dentists as possible before deciding what to do about their findings!

    What about using prebiotic or probiotic toothpastes? Do they actually work? I know that many skin products claiming to restore certain skin bacteria don't actually use the correct bacterial strains. Don't know if this is true for toothpastes.

      Some people brush with milk of magnesia which they claim remineralizes teeth and reverses sensitivity. Important to get the kind that only has magnesium and water, NOT bleach (called sodium hypochlorite). The bleach can make your teeth gray or otherwise discolored...and it's not needed.
      Pretty sure I've also heard brushing with coconut oil can help with teeth sensitivity.
      Either one is affordable and should be readily available. May have to hunt around for milk of magnesia without the bleach, though.

      I do dental hygiene. Generally tooth sensitivity is caused by dental tubules being open from a variety of different foods and even the pH balance in the mouth. I would recommend using a diluted baking soda with water mix, or take one or two drops of clove essential oil and mix it into the baking soda you will be using. The clove oil is a natural analgesic which helps to anesthetize the tooth and even the gums (temporarily numb) but it goes away within 10-15 minutes. Generally we learned in school that people who had toothaches would place cloves in their teeth abs it would help stop the pain (not a lasting solution). So I made my own sans-sensitive tooth paste: mix warmed Shea butter with bentonite clay powder, baking soda, for mine I added olive oil as I am not able to use coconut oil right now. Essential oils I add are eucalyptus oil, & tea tree oil. My husband used a coconut oil with bentonite clay powder with a mix of peppermint oil, eucalyptus oil & tea tree oil. Sometimes before or after brushing he uses a salt water rinse (1 cup of treated water, not sink water, 1tsp sea salt). Our treated water is reverse osmosis and I add 1/2 teaspoon of minerals I found at the health food store and 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda to each gallon. I tested it with a pH strip and now it’s alkaline which means above 7 which is neutral not acidic and not alkaline. Another thing to look at is your diet. If your teeth are constantly in a lower acid environment this can hurt your teeth. Another thing that may help is buy baking soda that has a smoother/smaller particle. I think you can find it on amazon. Some people use it for making natural shampoos or soaps. Hope some of this helps. A basic tooth “paste” you can use is 1 tbsp coconut oil, 1/4-1/2 tsp of baking soda, mix and then place a pea size on your brush and brush gently using a 45 degree angle towards the gums, short small circular strokes, and brush a minimum of two minutes. Spit the solution in the trash. Another option in addition try “oil pulling”. When I am done brushing with my baking soda toothpaste I rub shea butter on my gums and this helps with any irritation.

      Also to add to my reply it can take up to 2-4 weeks for the sensitivity to go away. I found that after it went away I made a new batch without the clove oil & only used it when I had sensitive teeth. This would then work right away.
      Also with the bentonite clay powder if you use it be sure to mix with a non metal fork or knife as the metals will describe the minerals. The bentonite clay works to remove toxins and add minerals to the teeth.

      I would use lavender or eucalyptus 😃. I would not use it straight from the bottle as she demonstrated. I use a spray bottle and mix it with filtered water and use it as a room spray, but you can also put it on the face covering these days. Hope it helps. You can use about 3-4 drops depending on the size of the spray bottle.
      I used to use shower gels only under my arm pits but I stopped using soaps and shampoos. So I use occasionally about 5 drops of lavender or eucalyptus oil on the bath tub. My skin looks better than before. I don’t use moisturizers either and have no itchy scaly skin. 😃

      Add essential clove oil 10-15 drops to cold pressed unrefined coconut oil 1tbsp. This will help so much. Takes about 2-4 weeks as this is the same time as a sensitive toothpaste. .

    Does a waterpik count as flossing? Or should you do both ?

    • @FoereaperGaming
      @FoereaperGaming 3 года назад

      Both. Water pik is awesome at getting big chunks of food out but it is bad at getting stuck plaque off. You can test it yourself by water piking first then flossing. Personally I do a quick water piking then floss and come back with an in depth water pik pass.

    • @matthewyates2735
      @matthewyates2735 3 года назад

      @@FoereaperGaming thanks for your insights. It seems to me flossing is still the best bang for your buck since the whole goal is to remove all the plaque and rinsing your mouth out after flossing is sufficient to get the stuff you broke off from flossing out of your mouth.
