    As a huge Opeth fan myself, this video puts a huge smile on my face. You’ve gone from not digging the demon to missing him. You are officially a metal fan and it is glorious. Welcome!
    Favorite Opeth repeating outro for me would be the one for Beneath the Mire. Has a very eerie quality but it’s not too long.

    Would love to see some more reactions to the "softer" side of Opeth tracks, such as Hope Leaves, In My Time of Need and Isolation Years. Opeth is at it's best imo, when juxtaposed between the mellow and the heavy sides, especially since they compliment each other so well!

    This is my favourite song because it was the first Opeth song I've ever heard but there are so many Opeth songs for different moods that I absolutely love. Two examples When I'm feeling plainly sad It's Burden but when I'm on the verge of apathy it's "In my time of need" so I guess I like "lighter" Opeth songs

    Favourite track off Ghost Reveries is definitely "Baying of the Hounds" and favourite outro is "Deliverance".... well it is the greatest outro ever (imho)!
    Talking of the Deliverance album, "Master's Apprentices", "Wreath"and "By the pain I see in others" are all great heavy tracks.
    Also can I suggest "Lovelorn Crime" as must listen Newpeth 🎶

    That outro with the whispering voices has always given me the mental image of a dark room dimly lit by candles, while the "The Demon" shrouded in black smoke slowly rises from the pentagram drawn in blood on the ancient floorboards. Perfectly Halloween themed :>

    Yes, this is my favorite Opeth album, and for sure one of my favorite songs. Definitely the most "demon" of demon songs, and my favorite album and song to encourage some creepy fiction writing. The whispering, the sustained monstrous growl that builds in the background, it's a perfect horror atmosphere song. It's the addition of the keyboards/synths on this album, adding the extra layer of mood, that puts it to the top of the list for me, as well as Mikael's peak-level vocals on both the clean and growl side. Of course, it's hard to say anything of theirs since Still Life isn't top-tier fantastic relative to most other music lol. Outros...so many outros...I have to say that Deliverance sticks with me as well as a stand out.

  • @Salomon_G
    @Salomon_G Год назад +7

    IMO Mikael's demon is top tier one of the best death metal vocals ever. And I like that he didn't track a bunch of those vocals on top of each other for 'maximum heavy' like a lot of them do today (which creates a 'wall' that sucks the nuance of the one singular voice right out. In other words, 'trying too hard' for my taste.)

That might seem like a cop-out, but each song ends with the title of the next song, and they all flow in to each other so well!!! I know that doesn't translate very well when listening to individual tracks, but when I caught on to it... Just favorite album, for sure! Also, it has an amazing rain sound intro, and probably the best fucking outro song ever (even called Epilogue).

    LOL the first demon bit. That was hilarious. Mikael was great during that period, and I strongly believed no one could surpass it, but, as me and other people said here, Peter Tägtgren did a great job on a Bloodbath (band where Mikael and Axe played as well) Nightmares Made Flesh record that is easily on the same level if not better.

    Yes, the long-awaited return of Opeth, I think this is a great Halloween choice for Opeth, even more so for someone who has never heard the band and wouldn’t see the demon coming. For me Martin Lopez I’d the star of this show, the drumming throughout this song is just phenomenal, throughout this whole album really. Favorite Opeth outro is tough, based off of your reactions, I’d have thought your favorite would be the Leaper Infinity, but for me, maybe Master’s Apprentices, Moonlapse Vertigo or When

    Also, on a totally unrelated note, they've probably already told you but I think you should give lacuna coil a shot... the female lead singer is one of the best I've heard... try "swamped" " our truth" " tight rope"... and much like opeth their live shows are almost better than the studio versions :)
