***** lol no offense meant lol, my comment was in good fun and yes i have family in Australia so i know the stereotypes are also meant to be taken as jokes. However thanks for your advice
I was so scared to watch anything from this movie, but the science is just impossible. The San Andreas fault doesn't have the capability to create a quake this strong. Not to mention California has strict building specifications for earthquake safety, but here every building is falling down like it's made of dust.
I mean, to be fair, certain buildings in California are built to withstand a set magnitude. Example, the US Bank Tower in Los Angeles was built to withstand an 8.3 magnitude earthquake. But, if the earthquake is bigger than said limit, the building’s integrity can weaken and it will collapse. In this case, the earthquake was a 9.6, which is over 10 times stronger than an 8.3. So, while yes, this isn’t what would happen when an earthquake of this scale does hit, but it’s not impossible
I agree... Earthquakes are horrible, but this is impossible... it should be an erthquake 30 or something to look like that. It still looks awesome though
+Christos Frantsis man san fransisco is on the san andreas failure its so possible to get a earthquake no wait all california is in san andreas failure if you live there you fucked beacause of that and if you see the movie its a 13.2 or something like that no 30.0 its so big if this happen all california going down
+Linkin Park man... 13.2 Mw is like an asteroid impact, this is NOT posible, in chile we archieve the most biggest earthquake in history (9.5 Mw) in 1960. For that times, structures didnt have proper buildings to hold that shake but the scenario isnt like this movie (is like all buildings are structures with clay materials). The movie shows like a bombardment. Funny movie, but so fantastic. (sorry my english isnt good, my native language is spanish)
ok, for people who are fucking terrified right now (like me) just know that buildings in california do not collapse like this, even in earthquakes of this magnitude. they're designed to withstand earthquakes and are actually one of the safer places to be during one. the most that they'll do is sway a lot.
Why were there people other then the main characters running out of the Stadium? We know that this was the second earthquake so there could be no way a game was being held in the Stadium. Unless they were taking cover and if this was the case then why bother running out if they had gone inside in the first place. If there was an evacuation being held inside yet when our main characters parashooted in there was no sign of evacuation or people in the middle of the pit. So uh why were they inside the Stadium again?
the Stadium which is the AT&T park was a detour from the fastest path to the Bridge and the Military wouldn't evacuate them away from the safest area which is across the Bridge.
TheWarDeclarer I think most of the people were evacuating to the Marin Headlands because there are no urban centers and its high in elevation, and the fastest way there is across the Golden Gate.
TheWarDeclarer I don't know about all the people there, but remember that the main characters were parachuting into the city to meet up with their daughter.
1:25-1:26-1:27 Em get to the side of the stadium, I’ll be right there, ok, I’ll be right there 1:28-1:29-1:30-1:31 it’s not safe here, get to the side of the stadium, go to the side of the stadium right now 1:36-1:37-1:38-1:39-1:40-1:41-1:42-1:43-1:44-1:45-1:46-1:47-1:48 hurry, you gotta get off the street, get to the side of stadium right now side of the stadium, get to the side of stadium, come on, come on, come on off the street, get to the stadium, side of the stadium, come on, get out of the street 1:58-1:59-2:00-2:01-2:02-2:03-2:04 come on come on I’ve got you I got you, stand up, Ray runs 2:20-2:21-2:22-2:23-2:24-2:25 everybody down
