As a BMW fan, with 3 BMW cars over 23 years ( sport wagons to put my surfboard, and bicycle in the back), and love the beauty, and precision they afford. So when it was time to get another bike after not riding all that time I went for the BMW F750 GS. I do love the Ducati lineup a lot since I'm Italian and their precision build and beauty, just like BMW. The Ducati Multistrata V2S I really love it since it's not so big with spoke wheels. However, the Multistrada Rally is absolutely one of my favorites for the street/off-road. You presented it here in all its glory beautifully. I love your channel. Thank you I'm now subscribed.
I’m on a 10’000km Trip with the Rally. The Average fuel consumption after 6500km is at 5.2L/100km with about 50 kg luggage and 60/40 tires ( Mitas e07+) This bike is absolutely fantastic and worth every cent!
@@cloudytuesdays I don’t recommend a bike with such a power for an absolute beginner! Start with a light bike,e.g. with a 125ccm and make your driving experience for about 1-2 years. Make a drive training if you have a chance. It’s for your own safety! Motorbiking is really a great fun if you start slowly.
Update: The total average consumption of my Rally after 9'616km was finally 5.1L/100km. My trip was from Switzerland to the North Cape an back in 4 weeks. I had absolutley no issues or problems with the bike and a lot of fun on the gravel roads in the North of Europe. The average speed on the entire trip was around 75km/h. This for better understanding of the fuel consumption. Save Drive to everyone!
@@cloudytuesdays If you start with this bike turn the power down as low as possible in Urban mode, and jack up all the assists. Ease into it slowly, and be prepared to pick it up (opt for crash protection out of the gate.)
In NL, this bike costs 40k€ with comparable options to a tiger 1200 rally adventure, which is a 10k difference. The only thing you really gain is ACC, but you lose the low maintenance shaft drive. The pricing of the V4 is quite horrendous if you ask me. Basically all the options should come as standard (crash protection, heated grips, keyless fuel cap)
I agree! I own the new Tiger Rally Explorer, and I take mine off road as often as I can.. something absolutely nobody will be doing with the MS. It should have a 21” front wheel like the Tiger, and as you say, all the protective equipment. There’s absolutely no reason the Ducati doesn’t have shaft drive. What little power is lost vs the chain drive is minimal, and the Duck will still outrun most motorcycles..
I am at the eve of buying new moto. My options are triump 1200 rally explorer or MS. I will drive 80 % on roads 20% on dirt. My concern is 21’ front wheel really impacting on corening performance or not, The shaft drive is fantastic but MS features allures me a lot to be frank I am in the middle do you have any adivices?

Don’t like to spend $30k on a bike? Fine.. Just don’t say its not a good bike because of the price of the bike. This bike is absolute perfection in every way. Has the power, has the looks, build quality and attention to detail is way above any other bike in the same class. You wanna ride in style, you gotta spend the money. Thats the way it is.
I am not really sure where a bike like this would live in the U.S.A. adventure bike market. Too many coins, way too heavy, and way too many bells and whistles to go wrong on a BDR trip. I love your reviews! I think the Ktm and Bmw wins in some areas compared to the ducati. This big adventure motorcycles will be dropeed in some point of its life and this one with all the plastic bits in the sides will be mich more expensive to repair than the ktm and Bmw. If the concept was to take down the GS, this rally version, had to come standard with crash bars and less plastic things on the sides.

In the USA Ducati screwed the buyers in that we are required to get the factory panniers. This is a deal breaker for me since I want soft panniers. I'll be looking elsewhere for my next ride.
@@LifeofSmokeyThere are, however, the Ducati comes at a very premium price. One way to lower that price would be to offer the bike without panniers and let me use that money to purchase soft panniers. For me, the hard panniers will rarely get used.
Just had a test ride on the Rally. Thinking of having a change from my trusted Beemer 1250 GSA TE. In some ways it lived up to expectations but in others it just didn't. It sounded like a sewing machine (euro 5 I know), the seat was uncomfortable, the engine braking did not make for enjoyable flowing rides, the switches were just pony, especially the turn indicators. Plus the top end bike was over £27K but you had to pay extra for tyre pressure monitoring, keyless fuel cap and engine bars - really!!!! Am I missing something after all the rave reviews or is it just me
Great video, the Ducati looks amazing, but 170HP, 27k price tag, do we really need that? I have just ordered a Husqvarna Norden Expedition, sold my R1250 GS Adventure Rallye TE, to ‘downgrade’ to a lighter, less techy bike for a change. Another part of the logic is rather than spend all the money on the bike, save half the ticket price to spend it n adventures. Just my current thoughts, maybe next year it will be back to something like the Ducati. I would hate to drop it in the rough and break off one of those fancy mirrors though. Keep up the great videos 🙌🏻🙏🏻
The Expedition is awesome!! It's "light" and really good offroad for a "big bike". I really enjoy riding the Norden offroad. Had to bring it back to KTM on Monday but I asked to bring it back later so I can make some more videos with it 😁👌
I own a 2023 1200 Tiger Rally Explorer, and a Ducati Fasthouse Desert Sled, so I understand people liking Ducati motorcycles. What I don’t understand is why the MS Rally’s price is $8k more than the Tiger. I just don’t see it..
I was also going to mention that when you first revved the MS, it sounded like somebody going ‘vroom, vroom, vroom’! My Audi (RS5) actually has an engine roar that comes through the car’s sound system! Many Audi’s do!

@@LifeofSmokey Yeah so expensive. I wrote radar enabled as in radar would trigger the light in those. The mirror juts out more than the handebar so it is likely that you will lose an expensive mirror with a fall.
I can answer this. NO IT ISN'T. Ducati should be ashamed selling a bike at this price point when it is neutered straight out the factory to the point that not only does it prevent people from reaching the ADVERTISED top speed, but also impacts the bike's ability to comfortably ride between 4-6k RPM. And to solve all of that you MUST purchase a $3000 performance kit and spend another $500 for the dealer to install and tune the bike. And on top of all of that the bike doesn't come with tire pressure sensors ON A $30k BIKE!!!
