Nice Vids Mike. I moved into a home with a bare concrete floor in the basement. I painted it once with Behr then 10 yrs or so later it flaked, so I did it again. within 3 years started to flake. Found out about PPG Breakthrough 250 paint. Ground the bad spots down with small grinder like you use, then applied. Beautiful stuff. Seems hard as a rock and really durable- so far. THe PPG paint is an acrylic also. Thinking it is similar to your Mapei. Keep up the good work

I've got a concrete patio ( 16X20 ) that was probably poured sometime back in the early 1960's. It's got the river rock mixture in it that was common here in Georgia where I live for that time period. It's not in bad shape for it's age, but soon it's going to have to be pulled up and re-poured. After it's done and the concrete cures fully, this is what I plan on painting it with for added protection. Thanks for the video! I was just wondering what would be the best thing to do the job.
Mike, thanks for this video. Mike, in other videos you were using Sher-crete (renamed to Conflex). What made you try Mapei Mapecoat? Was it due to difficult in getting Conflex or something else?

Do you ever spray on cover Crete instead of resurfacing with paint? I do a fair bit and the patterns and flecks give a great look.

Great Video! A Few Questions. Does it have a Sheen at all? I'm looking for a Matte Finish, No shine. Looking to paint it but have it look as close to Natural Concrete as possible if you have any more advice. It must be non slip safe enough for around the pool. Can you add sand or something to these paints to get a variegated color more like natural concrete? Also Can you put this over an already painted concrete that has been pressure washed or would you recommend grinding first. Thanks Mike
I just put on Foundation Armor SX5000 sealant on my new concrete decking. Looking to color the concrete. Would this product bond properly over my sealant? If not, is there another product you recommend?
Hey Mike, does the Mapecoat deck T have any affect on the temperature of the concrete after it’s applied? Will it be hot to walk on?
Mike can you recommend a contractor in southeast Pa that will repair hairline cracks in a pool deck and paint it?
Anywhere there is alot of sun exposure concrete polyurethane paint is recommended over acrylic or epoxy paint.
Could I use for a driveway?
How long does the Mapecoat Deck T paint last? will it chip or wear off? I am looking to re-do my concrete pool deck (1800 sq ft) but used concrete solid stain and now need to figure out how to remove all the years of coating it and get to the original concrete that is in excellent condition. Please advise! Thank you in advance.

Westcoat 11-10 is the best system going. SC-11 epoxy primer, SC-10 acrylic topcoat. If it’s in your area, that’s the one to go with. Look it up.
How do you compare this to ACRYLA-DECK®?
Excellent job Mike! I have a question for you: we have LEUDERS Stone coping around our pool, and after two years it got stained and it doesn't look good anymore. Do you think that the paint you are showing in this video would work on this type of stone?
I never worked with that stone myself, but I've heard the best thing to do is find a style/color you know for certain you could live with and then immediately after it is put in and good to go for a sealer you should get a high-quality sealer put on asap. That stone(and some others) is very easy to scratch and get water stains, efflorescence is a big issue too for anyone with a Leuder pool coping like you do. weathering, crumbling/erosion can be other things but the most crucial is making sure to not use harsh or highly acidic cleaners as it can weaken the stones and stain them. Only other thing I can think to say is if you do want to try a sealer someday make sure it's a high quality one. Idk anything about them really but my neighbor got his done and he was telling he always hated sealers because I guess all of them or at least most left a yellow hue on his stones except the one he decided to try because his sister recommended it. If your curious I think he said it was called TS or TSS PRO. Sorry for the Story long comment! just saw nobody else answered for five months and figured I'd say at least a little bit that I've heard from my friend who does stonework and the one thing from my neighbor.
Oh yeah, I don't think I ever answered your question lol my bad. My guess is it would depend on how smooth the surface is. if you were able to fill any gaps/cracks/pits that there might be than I dont see why not if you do two or three coats. Definitely get another opinion if you can about painting though just in case haha.

Did you call them? You have to call and talk with them. They don't stock it but they have it shipped from Mapei after you decide on a color. Mapei will tint it and ship it to you. You won't find it on the NJ website, you have to call.
What about for driveways?.
It does say it's rated for vehicle traffic, but hot tires and black tire rubber transfer onto the coating would be an issue I don't believe you'd be happy about over time. Mostly for foot traffic, patios, walks, pool decks, balcony's.
Is this suitable for a garage floor?
Use a garage epoxy coat. And don't use the flakes it comes with. ( Can't find anything small you drop on in) It's made to resist oil and car spillage.
