One interesting thing if humans and Pokemon did come from a common ancestor, why did humans lose the ability to evolve in the Pokemon sense? When Pokemon reach a certain condition, we see them enveloped in some kind of light or energy and they take on a new form. Yet we don't see humans in the Pokemon world transform in a beam of light when they turn 18 and go "Teenager has evolved into Adult!"
Does this mean humans are single-form Pokemon like Passimian or Dunsparce? Is evolution in Pokemon a sign of maturity or simply just strength? Say, could a Squirtle grow old and die without ever evolving, while a different Squirtle evolve into Wartortle then Blastoise all within its first year of life?
Also, might wanna change Pubesape's name. Very prone to be another Ar-kee-us/Arse-see-us pronunciation situation *cough*Pubes-ape*cough*

Evolution is not a sign of maturity. Think back to the treecko episode of pokemon (i dont remember what it is). There was an old treecko or an elderly one.

Proficient humanthro with focus sash? Would it get like two focus sash uses, or after one it would just be a focus band? That’s the thing about this ability, it has so many situations. I think it would be better if it had some sort of effect like the Pokémon is able to have 5 moves but the power of its attacking moves is multiplied by 0.9

I have a small theory:
Mordern humans are primarily normal type but psychic abilities can be reawoken by exercising (bcz of this Sabrina and others are able to use it) and it also justifies kadabra's Pokédex entry.

One thing that makes this more difficult is the fact that Pokémon are already all more humanoid. Like Weavile make tactics and have a writing system. Almost all Pokémon have intelligence much higher than their real world counterparts

Wow, this was an interesting idea. Not sure if I like the names, feels to me like they're not 'distinct' enough for me, like calling Incineroar a 'Fyger' because it's a fire type tiger. I love the design and concept for them, and the abilities are very entertaining. You always come out with a polished design after working on the concept, love that about you, that you show your work. Would love to maybe see a follow up for some pokemon that are 'similar' to this family, like 'missing links' to the ancestral pokemon, and possibly some 'ancient' or 'predestined' forms of other pokemon, and explaining what, in nature, was theorized to have happened that led to their current forms being the dominant ones. Loved the video, I'm gonna go watch Lockstin's now

I always thought of Gardevoir and its evo line as a "human pokemon". They start as a small kid:ralts, then become teens:Kirlia and then adults Gardevoir. Plus they look vaguely as human and seem to fuction in a similar way but also have psychic abilities.
According to some books in Canalave library, humans were Pokémon, and used to marry them. This video reminded me of that, so thanks for that

The face of the male one reminds me of the puffer fish lion you made last episode. Theres a sort of jungle theme going on here. Im imagining an old aztec temple where he lives. Hominfant looks like it would make a great statue too perhaps a symbol of fertility? Im inagining little budha style statues around a temple.

I REALLY wish Humanthro was real. I would use one for sure, maybe even be my ace. I love their design so much! You did an amazing job on all of them Ron!
I think the adult stage should be psychic and normal, but his abilitie "action impact" would change the normal type depending on the type it uses, for exemple, if this pokemon uses thief, it would become a dark type, because he made bad actions and, for that, it is a dark person.

If we still had Mega Evolution, I think a great one would be based on elderly humans, who are quite unique in the animal kingdom for living so long past their age of reproduction. Evolutionary biologists think it may have evolved as a way to take care of their grandchildren while the regular adults went hunting.
I made a pokemon based on a toddler and it had many evolutions. It was basically a new eevee. On evo was dead. Another evo is a frankenstein. Another was homeless. Another was a handyman. An android. A nurse, and A priest.
hey truegreen. i doubt you'll see this but i wanted to ask a few questions based on thoughts i had while watching. 1: if humanthropes can only live in groups, would they die while in a trainer's party? 2: could they learn from any tm like mew since humans are so versatile? 3: what if the pokemon, perhaps in it's teenage and adult stage, could change one of it's types by holding an item? like if it held a charcoal it could become a fire/psychic or fighting/fire type?
I'd like to see you make some Pokémon based on Aztec or Mayan folklore! I designed a cute little Water-type chihuahua with a hand on its tail, inspired by the Ahuizotl, which used its handy tail (boo, bad joke) to drown people. The Pokémon I made is a bit friendlier than that, and uses its tail to play with others. (I haven't come up with a name for it, though."
The baby's ability: cry too much: it confuses opponents(u don't know why there crying)
The teens ability: Homework Hater: Halves damage from recoil(cuz homework is extra work and recoil is extra work so it works)
The adults ability: mixed personalities: Can Change its highest stat randomly(this works cuz u text to them up gotta good grades then when u come home THERE ANGRY AT U)
Humans also have an advantage in throwing, though I don't know the exact details, so maybe that can be reflected in the design as well

Something else you could do is have variants of this pokemon. Since a big thing about humanity is adaptability (why isn't that an ability?) the human pokemon could have various differences depending on region its from. Widely varying typing and stats, but overall same potential since humans are humans. A variant that's more fighting orientated, a variant more resistant to heat or cold, one more suited for high elevations, etc

Artipothicus Pokedus was the name that came to mind before I heard your name... Humanthro is also great. Humans can sweat, have recursorry thought, tool use and creativity. If you dial that up into a pokemon it might be OP especially with psychic.
