    Thank you so so much!!
    My biggest issue has become isolation, and I can't fucking go out into the world to seek connection!
    I feel like I can brain retrain all I can but in a way I am mopping with an open tap.
    Looking forward to hearing more ❤

    This is me. I was teaching myself to stay calm and accept my sensations, but ultimately the grief and despair of what I had lost for so long crushed me. By trying to let go, the flood gates opened. Now my sensations are on the back burner and I am dealing with a mother load of anxiety. It’s a tricky rope to untangle.

      Sending gentle hugs your way. Living with chronic pain and symptoms definitely isn’t for sissy’s! Kudos to us who hang in there and persevere. Maybe someday we’ll experience some relief. Think it’s going to take a lot f work!! Hang in there for what other choice do we have??

      I'm in the exact same position, i've been having an increase in unconscious jaw clinching day and night, even though I've been feeling more confident in my ability to manage my neuroplastic symptoms and focus on the positives

      Heal the body, heal the mind. You have to dig deep in to healing. I suffered from arthritis, accompanied by severe anxiety and bouts of depression. It was hell, i dont know what was worst the mental torture of my emotions and thoughts or the pain of not being able to walk and do things in life, basically disable. I believe hell can be lived here in this world. I had to choices to die or to die trying to find an answer to my problem. I dug deep in to every information i could find, from self help books to online programs. I spent years and years trying to figure out the rabbit hole of health. Until little by little the puzzle came together. It’s a never ending nightmare full of despair and hopelessness one can find your self when you know nothing. But let me tell you, the answer to your problem is right there some where in some book. You just haven’t found it. My advice to anyone reading this is. Understand that the body is one with the mind. When your body is sick, so is your mind. To heal you have to heal on both sides. That goes from working all the way from your gut and what you eat, to your mind and thoughts, emotions, life style. Everything matters.

    Thank you so much for giving the permission to feel the strong emotions around the pain and symptoms. Especially when the pain has gone on for a very long time with no break. There is a lot of suffering and I’ve been feeling so much anger towards them. Like you experienced in the past, I’ve met seed out on so much. It’s caused a lot of sadness and overwhelm! I keep trying to, even though yesterday I just didn’t want “to do it”, “to face living”, it just got too much! No choice in the matter. So today..I’m going to allow myself to be sad, to feel angry, to feel overwhelm. I do want to do another Somatic tracking, today, and want to do one of your QiGong sessions. Thank you Tanner, as always, you’re so understanding, sympathetic and helpful! Blessings to you, Anne, and the children

    Great video Tanner! But do you know when you should brain retrain vs. feel your emotions (about symptoms or otherwise),. If you incorporating both techniques. it's hard to know which approach to use in the moment

    Hi, thank you for you video! It's very true, I know now. We must to both: brain retraining and processing emotions. But this second one is definitely difficult.... especially if a condition has been present for many years....

    Ive lost 12 years and still counting - cant scrape anything back. If the pain doesnt let me get anything positive back or leave the the hell alone no matter what I do, then how can I feel anything but rage at it? I can process the rage but then it keeps going because the pain keeps going. So its not being processed at all, it is a ocnstant tap of grief and rage at the symptoms and what they took and are takign from me. Seriously, mind body pain is the most evil thing ive ever come across!

    Would you say tanner that these conditions have build up over a lifetime of behaviors, once you know the causes and make the changes, it can take quite some time for the nervous system to feel safe, even when you’re doing all the right things it takes time for healing to stick

    • @painpsychotherapy
      @painpsychotherapy  6 месяцев назад

      Yes, chronic pain and symptoms develop over a lifetime (mine included!). Regulating to nervous system is a process, that I am even still engaging in. Keep going!

    I really appreciate this and I agree with you but have a question. What i would like more detail and examples on is how to effectively process these emotions. For many who aren't in the best place currently due to symptoms, opening up these stuffed emotions seems dangerous itself due to fear of not being able to pull ourselves out of it.
    Is it healthy to journal about all our distress, morning and night. This was a recommendatonn to do for 60 days but i am worried this could put me in a bad place and just reaffirm it. Any incite would be greatly appreciated.

    • @cheryl8493
      @cheryl8493 6 месяцев назад +1

      If I may say..I think journaling would definitely help, but perhaps end with a Gratitude list to put your emotions/thoughts/feelings in a positive state of mind. Dr Howard Schubiner recommends journaling as does Nicole Sachs. They do the same work as Tanner. All of these wonderful people seem so approachable which puts me at ease. I’m going to look back on Tanner’s previous videos for a Somatic Tracking practice around emotions. Or I believe he said he was going to address this in next weeks video. He’s so helpful!

      @@cheryl8493 Thank you for you detailed response. I was thinking the same thing about finishing with gratitude. It is what I started doing however I asked about this very style to a different coach and she said to "not to sugarcoat the distress". However I can tell only focusing on the negative is not healthy. I agree bringing up the stressful emotions honestly then finishing with gratitude in some way feels like the right option. Still willing to adjust my strategies though.

      I feel like no amount of gratitude will be able to sugarcoat the deep feelings of loosing life to TMS.
      So no, not on purpose, but offcourse throughout the day just try to stay somehow positive

    What if you’ve felt the feelings about your pain (cried, yelled etc) for years and they never pass? I don’t think these emotions will go away until the pain goes away. Also, the pain affects so many areas of your life and all of your relationships…it’s such viscous cycle.

    • @cheryl8493

      I agree with you, totally! I think that’s why we get overwhelmed, sad, angry! The pain just never stops. I think it’s going to take a lot of pain reprocessing work to experience any relief.

    Hi, if one leg is shorter than the other only because of chronic pain on one side, will it fix itself by itself?

    • @painpsychotherapy
      @painpsychotherapy  6 месяцев назад

      I cannot speak to your case directly over social media. But we understand that often structural abnormalities are not the cause of chronic pain. Of course it is important to have physical causes for symptoms ruled out by a doctor.
