I look at it this way, I get free moonstone that would normally cost me money out of my pocket. I'm happy with whatever I get. I am having fun with Dreamsnaps because it brings out my creativity I didn't know I had.
It's FREE moonstones! How could I complain about that? Pictures are viewed differently by everyone. What I like, you might not. It's ok. These challenges are suppose to be fun and we should treat them like that. Make the best pic we can, hopefully matching the theme and be happy with the free moonstones we are being given. 😊
Thanks for the video Mr Star! And imho, DreamSnaps is not remotely unfair. Literally we're getting free in game currency even if we just submitted a pic with the bare minimum requirements. And it's optional! I love creating DreamSnaps and I love seeing everyone else's submissions and voting, I think it's so much fun. If I ever stop having fun doing it and instead get uber focused on my scores or rant about unfairness, it's time for me to take a break then bc then the spirit of the feature is lost.

I really don't think the dreamsnaps are unfair. I've been in the 26,000th place, and I've gotten around 300 place, a HUGE fluctuation! When I figured out what the dreamsnaps wanted from one of your videos I actually placed much higher, so I think people just need to put in the work if you want more on the return. I'm honestly happy to be getting the extra FREE moonstones, regardless of the amount.
I am grateful for free moonstones but I get tired of voting on random dreamsnaps that have nothing to do with the themes. 75% or more that come up for me to vote on don’t have one thing in the photo to do with the theme. So many good dreamsnaps on yourdiscord that I never see to vote on.
I think with more people participating in the last couple of weeks, some people got confused when they were voting. Like the challenge was fire and water, But there aren't any fire and water tags in our inventory catalogue. So of course gameloft chose the colors red and blue as the mandatory items.
All creativity is subjective to the viewer. We all have are own tastes and act accordingly. It also depends on the photo yours was up against that might have appealed more to the voter. I wouldn't worry about it
I love dreamsnaps. Honestly I wasn't that excited about it when I heard about it but it's so good to have something new to do in ddv each week and add a social element with other players. Free moonstones is just the awesome cherry on top. That being said, I do think there are some bugs in it atm. I think it's more than just personal opinions causing some amazing looking submissions to rank lower than expected. Regardless it's good fun and a great different element to the game and it will only get better as they continue to fine tune the mechanics
You worded it great. I thought my beach photo was great, but it was my worst ranked photo. I was happy getting 1500 moonstones anyways. Either way I am having so much fun taking dreamsnap photos and I am discovering new ways to decorate my valley.
I think the fact that EVERY entry gets an automatic 300 moonstone reward sort of negates any unfairness. Even if you can just barely meet the requirements, you're going to get free moonstones. It might take a few days or even a few weeks to start building up a decent inventory of items for more creativity, but you don't NEED to have all the rarest items to get a reward. You build up items the more you play anyway.

I think the tomato pic last Dreamsnap round showed how uneven the pictures are shown to people. And that's broken for sure. And many people probably just hit any random pictures until they get their 50 moonstones for voting. That's the only thing bothering me. One round you get lucky and your picture will be shown to many people and the other one it won't, but we still get some moonstones. I'm just wondering why the devs are so quiet about it and don't explain how the voting/scoring actually works.
I wonder how this would work... We see two dreamsnaps to choose from and pick one. Then we see the one we picked against a new one and pick the one we like best out of those two and so on. If a picture is really good it will keep going and going until something even better comes up.

It has nothing to do with being biased. I tried really hard and liked my earth and water submission. Got 900 ms. My sister literally took two seconds on her pic, much less effort than mine took, and she got 4 k. It’s like some pictures don’t get shown to others while some photos are seen several times by people.
i agree with your opinion about dreamsnaps, and additionally, just having access to more clothing and furniture items does NOT make me score better in dreamsnaps, trust me, I'm terrible at it! if you're creative it'll shine more than the items themselves.
I LOVE the fairy wings! I hope to see something like that in game. Maybe if they add Tinkerbell? I did get a tinkerbell crop top from Scrooge's store so MAYBE?! lol.
I spent a bit of time decorating my submission this week however its not so much because the design was hard but I still have a building bug where everything lags and crashes the game; so it took a few hours but could've maybe done it in an hour without the crashes and lag... I'd like to score high this time but I don't expect I will given this week is all about creativity and I don't have much
my first dreamsnap (stopped playing for 9 months) was the fire and ice challenge. i ended up getting 4000 moonstone for my submission but for the life of me, I COULDNT REMEMBER. thankfully so many youtubers are doing voting on stream and i saw what i submitted in one of their streams lol i took the fire and water theme LITERALLY 💀i actually put candles, torches, the giant flame candelabra along the ocean....somehow that got me moonstones hahahaa now im pretty proud of my submission for rainbow and for dreamers unite but idk if others will feel the same. thats okay, its been so much fun having something to do every week again :)
My "best" picture got the least amount of moonstones and my "worst" picture got the most so far. I try harder on some challenges than others so not surprised my scores fluctuate. I phoned it in last week so am only expecting 300 moonstones. Any more is a gift!
Only a few issues ive got with dreamsnaps 1. Freezing and crashing 2. Cant use touch of magic 3. Not clear if platforms are segregated during voting and submitting
The "issue" with Dreamsnaps is in that the amount of time and effort you put into creating it, does not necessarily equate to a similar result. So people who spend hours and hours composing the most meticulous scene are going to be upset when they don't rank highly, and while yes, it's great that we get free Moonstones, I don't think that it automatically means that the way Dreamsnaps are ranked and calculated is amazing and shouldn't be continually re-evaluated. Personally, the times I've spent LESS effort on Dreamsnaps I finished better, so if anything it's taught me NOT to spend forever on a shot. I don't think that this is the intention of DLV, so I would love to see a little more transparency on what determines a score, and transparency is not too much to ask. :)
For the DreamSnaps I think that something doesn't work. What you said about the interpretation of the theme and that we see our own pic as insane,... yes, but not at all. If I find all the pictures I can make the example on discord. I made a lot of try, or there are a lot of kids voting like kids do, like, with no logic between theme, originality,... or the game doesn't shows the pictures the same amount of times as they said. For me, if I made a shoot completely out of theme I reach 4000 moonstones, if I try to match the theme or the best lights I get 300/1000 moonstones.
@@mrStarInSky Imagine when the game comes in free to play, the kids will increase. So for now I take DreamSnaps as it looks, like a roulette. And I think there is something like a geolocalition between the pics that can be showed, I play from Italy and it feels like even if I vote for hours your pic or other streamers pics from all around the world would never show up in my votings. Seems like there are less people playing from EU or from Italy, last DreamSnaps I try to vote for hours, I think I vote for something like 200 pics and I saw the same pics again and again and again. I think there is something like a range of pics that can appear, I can't see ALL the submissions even if I continue voting or refreshing for all the week.

I don't think Dreamsnaps are unfair at all. Even the bare minimum prize is 300 moonstones. That is more than generous in the first place. I can't wait for Belle!! She is going to be my next door neighbor!!! So excited!!!
It's always going to be a un-fair kinda thing and I think they should also ban premium shop items to make it a little more fair but I always vote for the pictures that look like there from a new player because they need it the most rather then someone with 20 premium items in there photo. I think it's ok feature regardless because everybody does get something at the end of the day. You also gotta factor in that adults play this game along with kids so it's just never going to be fair no matter what you do.
The problem is there has been some notable errors in the voting process that doesnt make me believe it is running properly. I have also seen a snap multiple times (I play on PS5), so no, i dont believe it is running as it should. It definitely needs some improvement. Especially for PS players. That being said, I do love the feature, but it needs some refinement.
also while having a villager following you, they should make it that when you sit down on an item your villager sits down near you as well instead of just awkwardly standing there lol also taking pictures while sitting but you standup soon as the camera is activated 😑
I love updates but i want more characters and places that connect and put more in the valley like pirates and their ship and finding treasure at islands more people like maleficent joining ur valley and doing more with them and get outfits for them thats unique to them and you can wear them to
I see older players about equal to newbies, lol. How we struggled just to get moonstones to get some items we do want over now they can use dreamsnap to even get just 300? Even if just a wall, yep this week I saw pic of just a corner of a wall submitted. Also lol just cuz we got alot of stuff doesn't mean we use it well, I agree I seen some very simple photos that looked so much better than one with alot in it. Just depends how they set it up & used what they had. Clothing submissions I seem to get low scores on, lol only so many pieces of clothes you can even put on. But I do try & even if I only get 300, hey I tried!
This isn’t unlike anything else applicable to higher levels. Higher levels unlock more and higher quality features within the game For the most part people can do a lot for dreamsnaps simply using the environments within the game (beautiful waterfalls, beaches/islands, glowing caves, so much to work with especially if it’s an outfit specific challenge)
I have never complained about my personal score but I do wonder how fair the voting/judging is. What I mean by this is we know there are tens of thousands of submissions and yet we are seeing repeat photos to vote on. There is no way we could possible see every entry to begin with but there are more than enough that we should never see duplicates. I also wonder if the duplicates are intentional or not. There was a very inappropriate one a couple weeks back and I lost count how many times that photo popped up(makes me think someone at gameloft thought it would be funny to make people keep seeing it and for all i know they made it). And if some are being repeated does that mean some aren't being seen at all? Also is the ranking based solely in the votes or does gameloft do their own scoring? I seem to recall hearing that the more required items u have means a better score but idk if its true. I really think gameloft should explain the whole process so we can give ourselves the best chance for the best score.

Don't get me wrong. I'm thankful for the moonstones. But people don't understand the toll something like this can take on a most fragile mental health mind. For my whole life, I have never entered a competition or contest or challenge because of this. People say its not serious because it's a game. This game was comfortable and cozy and fun and an escape for me until the competition got put into it. Now my anxiety is always high on a Wednesday. For the results and taking hours retaking that weeks submission because I changed my mind. Or later down the week i see a submission online and realize mine is too simple and is not gonna do well. So I redo it then. I also second guess myself with everything. That's a problem with my mental health. And when people say well stop playing it or just dont do the DreamSnaps. That's another problem for my mental health. Because if I give up on something, my mental health will tell me I'm a failure for it. Not to mention that the moonstones is a blessing and a curse. Yes you get the extra moonstones ONLY if you participate. So when people say, you dont have to do it. Yes you do, if you want the moonstones. Sometimes when you see people complain online especially on reddit, its complaining for the sake of it. But sometimes when other people complain there is a reason specifically to them that they do. In the option of a very fragile mental health mind, dreamsnaps took away the fun and replaced it with anxiety.
So how do want them to fix this? Everything is a competition school,work and games. I get that not doing well can hurt you mental health but you can't expect to do well all the time. Sometimes no matter how hard you try at something someone will always be better but you should not let that discourage you. Focus on yourself and what you do and don't watch what other people are doing because that is going to hurt your mental health even more.😊

i can see being new having the problem of you don't have as many items, but no one has every item and even newbies may have gotten lucky and gotten a rarer item. the longer you play the more you will get as well as it is like getting upset that you don't start with pumpkins in the game and have to earn them, your submissions get better and better over time and you will get more items to do more with.
I am a little worried about the voting system long term. As the system loses its newness, and people get bored, they will stop voting for hundreds of submissions and just stop when they get their 50 moonstones. Fewer votes will mean greater fluctuation in results, leading to more frustration. I personally think they should require more votes to get to those 50 moonstones, perhaps at least 50 votes - meaning you should see somewhere around 100 pictures.

I've been playing for about a year and i don't have all the special items. Also i don't think dreamsnaps are unfair, why are we complaining about getting a minimum of 300 moonstones practically for free?? My submissions are by no means the best but I've still been getting average 1200 each week for the effort of placing a few items and taking a picture..also people don't really seem to pay attention to the theme for the week, they only place items with the tags and i think that will earn you less votes as that's how i vote anyways

fire and water was my first introduction to dreamsnaps, and i didnt even get what i was supposed to do or that there was even moonstones as rewards. i got 4k moonstones for my first submission and all i did was throw some red and blue furniture down, put a bunch of candles and the giant candelabra item along the beach (taking the theme literally lol) and i placed well. i wonder if the moonstone prize is really based on how many of the tagged items you use vs actual votes? cuz i thought mine was awful and i shouldnt have gotten that much for sure lmfao

And I think there is something like a geolocalition between the pics that can be showed, I play from Italy and it feels like even if I vote for hours your pic or other streamers pics from all around the world would never show up in my votings. Seems like there are less people playing from EU or from Italy, last DreamSnaps I try to vote for hours, I think I vote for something like 200 pics and I saw the same pics again and again and again. I think there is something like a range of pics that can appear, I can't see ALL the submissions even if I continue voting or refreshing for all the week.
@@mrStarInSky Also I think that it would be a fantastic experiment if we could stream and find every pic that shows up where came from, so we can see if real location matters for the voting. It would be interesting but I don't think it's something possible to do.

I don't think Dreamsnaps are unfair at all. Even the bare minimum prize is 300 moonstones. That is more than generous in the first place. I can't wait for Belle!! She is going to be my next door neighbor!!! So excited!!!
It's always going to be a un-fair kinda thing and I think they should also ban premium shop items to make it a little more fair but I always vote for the pictures that look like there from a new player because they need it the most rather then someone with 20 premium items in there photo. I think it's ok feature regardless because everybody does get something at the end of the day. You also gotta factor in that adults play this game along with kids so it's just never going to be fair no matter what you do.
The problem is there has been some notable errors in the voting process that doesnt make me believe it is running properly. I have also seen a snap multiple times (I play on PS5), so no, i dont believe it is running as it should. It definitely needs some improvement. Especially for PS players. That being said, I do love the feature, but it needs some refinement.
also while having a villager following you, they should make it that when you sit down on an item your villager sits down near you as well instead of just awkwardly standing there lol also taking pictures while sitting but you standup soon as the camera is activated 😑
I love updates but i want more characters and places that connect and put more in the valley like pirates and their ship and finding treasure at islands more people like maleficent joining ur valley and doing more with them and get outfits for them thats unique to them and you can wear them to
I see older players about equal to newbies, lol. How we struggled just to get moonstones to get some items we do want over now they can use dreamsnap to even get just 300? Even if just a wall, yep this week I saw pic of just a corner of a wall submitted. Also lol just cuz we got alot of stuff doesn't mean we use it well, I agree I seen some very simple photos that looked so much better than one with alot in it. Just depends how they set it up & used what they had.
Clothing submissions I seem to get low scores on, lol only so many pieces of clothes you can even put on. But I do try & even if I only get 300, hey I tried!

This isn’t unlike anything else applicable to higher levels. Higher levels unlock more and higher quality features within the game
For the most part people can do a lot for dreamsnaps simply using the environments within the game (beautiful waterfalls, beaches/islands, glowing caves, so much to work with especially if it’s an outfit specific challenge)
Their is a new stall in the background near belle, goofy's stall never looked like that at all
I have never complained about my personal score but I do wonder how fair the voting/judging is. What I mean by this is we know there are tens of thousands of submissions and yet we are seeing repeat photos to vote on. There is no way we could possible see every entry to begin with but there are more than enough that we should never see duplicates. I also wonder if the duplicates are intentional or not. There was a very inappropriate one a couple weeks back and I lost count how many times that photo popped up(makes me think someone at gameloft thought it would be funny to make people keep seeing it and for all i know they made it). And if some are being repeated does that mean some aren't being seen at all? Also is the ranking based solely in the votes or does gameloft do their own scoring? I seem to recall hearing that the more required items u have means a better score but idk if its true. I really think gameloft should explain the whole process so we can give ourselves the best chance for the best score.

Don't get me wrong. I'm thankful for the moonstones. But people don't understand the toll something like this can take on a most fragile mental health mind. For my whole life, I have never entered a competition or contest or challenge because of this. People say its not serious because it's a game. This game was comfortable and cozy and fun and an escape for me until the competition got put into it. Now my anxiety is always high on a Wednesday. For the results and taking hours retaking that weeks submission because I changed my mind. Or later down the week i see a submission online and realize mine is too simple and is not gonna do well. So I redo it then. I also second guess myself with everything. That's a problem with my mental health. And when people say well stop playing it or just dont do the DreamSnaps. That's another problem for my mental health. Because if I give up on something, my mental health will tell me I'm a failure for it. Not to mention that the moonstones is a blessing and a curse. Yes you get the extra moonstones ONLY if you participate. So when people say, you dont have to do it. Yes you do, if you want the moonstones. Sometimes when you see people complain online especially on reddit, its complaining for the sake of it. But sometimes when other people complain there is a reason specifically to them that they do. In the option of a very fragile mental health mind, dreamsnaps took away the fun and replaced it with anxiety.
So how do want them to fix this? Everything is a competition school,work and games. I get that not doing well can hurt you mental health but you can't expect to do well all the time. Sometimes no matter how hard you try at something someone will always be better but you should not let that discourage you. Focus on yourself and what you do and don't watch what other people are doing because that is going to hurt your mental health even more.😊
@@Joshy-n1m I didnt say for them to fix it. Now that they already put DreamSnaps in, theres nothing to be done. All I'm asking is for people to accept different pov. And not look down on them for it. Stop complaining that there are too much of one thing. Negitive or positive and just accept that most people have their reasons to think the way they do. Be it positive or negitive.

For every submission that I have done, I always get just over 400 moonstones. I don't mind my "placement" - I just got 400 free moonstones!!
i can see being new having the problem of you don't have as many items, but no one has every item and even newbies may have gotten lucky and gotten a rarer item. the longer you play the more you will get as well as it is like getting upset that you don't start with pumpkins in the game and have to earn them, your submissions get better and better over time and you will get more items to do more with.
I just don't like that you see the same pictures over and over again... other than that. Its just a lot of fun doing it
I have never won anything so when I get my dream snaps results, I am happy I get anything I am not picky.
I am a little worried about the voting system long term. As the system loses its newness, and people get bored, they will stop voting for hundreds of submissions and just stop when they get their 50 moonstones. Fewer votes will mean greater fluctuation in results, leading to more frustration. I personally think they should require more votes to get to those 50 moonstones, perhaps at least 50 votes - meaning you should see somewhere around 100 pictures.
Anyone can vote for any picture they like most. Its fair with free rewards.

I've been playing for about a year and i don't have all the special items. Also i don't think dreamsnaps are unfair, why are we complaining about getting a minimum of 300 moonstones practically for free?? My submissions are by no means the best but I've still been getting average 1200 each week for the effort of placing a few items and taking a picture..also people don't really seem to pay attention to the theme for the week, they only place items with the tags and i think that will earn you less votes as that's how i vote anyways
I agree with tiff why complain about things that are free what I won so far would of cost me at least 40 dollars out of pocket and lets not forget it's a game to have fun

You still get 4K no matter what you do! What about the others that also put a lot of work jnto theirs and get 900 or 1200 moonstones....? It's highly unfair the ranking system, to the point where its broken. Of course you wouldnt say its broken, because you keep getting 4K every time. Sorry for the tiny rant, but its very true. Its also known that there are repeats from previous weeks put in for fluff...check out Serroh, or just ask him.
I have gotten 1500 on my first one. I'm not saying it's not broken, but there is really no way to know for sure if it's broken or not because of how subjective it is
fire and water was my first introduction to dreamsnaps, and i didnt even get what i was supposed to do or that there was even moonstones as rewards. i got 4k moonstones for my first submission and all i did was throw some red and blue furniture down, put a bunch of candles and the giant candelabra item along the beach (taking the theme literally lol) and i placed well. i wonder if the moonstone prize is really based on how many of the tagged items you use vs actual votes? cuz i thought mine was awful and i shouldnt have gotten that much for sure lmfao
