Thanks Dan. Just bought an Arlo Ultra 2 to replace an earlier pro model. Am slowly replacing cameras that need replacement batteries with rechargeables. Your videos help a lot.
Thanks, Great reviews. 2 questions. 1. How long to expect recharging the batteries. 2. Which base Stn allows for local storage? Is it only the Vmb4540? Unfortunately the boxes dont say which station model included. Price wise I am thinking either the essential or pro 4.
Great video. I’m very interested in the video you referenced at 2:12 about subscription vs local storage options but can’t seem to find it. Would you mind giving me a link please?
Great review and thank you. I wanted to ask when using the magnetic mount on the Essential and or Pro 4 - is there magnetism on the top back / and not just on the lower back part? Example, at 12:05 - you positioned the mount on the lower back part - will it stick to the top back area as well - Like shown at 13:18? or would I need that special mount your were speaking of?
Hi Dan, I am leaning to purchase two ultra. One camera will be aimed a the road, I assume it will alert me every time a car goes by. My question, can the Ultra have a "target" area so it would not pickup road traffic? Thx. John
great informative video - of the range I am edging towards the ultra. I was wondering with the solar panels, can they charge multiple cameras or is it a case of one solar panel per camera?
Thanks Rudy - and great question. You can connect Arlo cameras to HomeKit, but you need to make sure the Arlo cameras are first connected to a base station (not to your Wi-Fi router). Here's some more info on Arlo's website: kb.arlo.com/000062279/How-do-I-connect-my-Arlo-camera-to-Apple-HomeKit
Unfortunately No , they come with only three months free subscription but still you can have access to live feature , Arlo recently change the subscription plans and they are cheaper now
Hi, question when using the Arlo, when the subscription is expired for my ESSENTIAL, the video can not be recorded locally any more. Tried reset and wont work.any idea? thank you.
Hey Edward, good question. After the subscription ends, you'll need an Arlo SmartHub or base station to record locally. Depending on the base station, you can record on an SD card or USB drive. Please refer to the Arlo Essential manual here: files.bbystatic.com/5DUe10G2ZZfGanrl8A4f%2BA%3D%3D/User%2BManual
I see the home bases show as not available in stock in the Arlo website, where can I purchase one if I am interested in getting a Pro 4 bundle, along with some solar panels. Where can I get this type of bundle and accessories?
Can spotlight on Go2 be shut off via app? Does "color night vision" really just mean lighting up the area with white light and grabbing a video? Advertising where the camera is mounted, for me is 100% useless (unless you count supporting the thieves and pawn shops of course) Another issue is battery life, other reviews range from 11 days to "nearly a month" and there seems to be a couple reviews where extreme cold (-10f to 0f) causes issues? I've checked the Arlo site and found some basic specs, but little on features other than generic "color night vision" and that is has a spotlight. The site is amazingly lacking in content other than dozens of annoyingly large images *of* the camera instead of images and features *from* the camera.
You did not give clear subscription information. I believe without sub. or any other monthly payment., we wouldn't be able to keep tract or review the recorded videos. Please, explain clearly about it. And please, explain how to keep camera rolling while we recharge the batteries. Other than that, thank you for the video and efforts to explain.
Dude you missed the most important part the wifi rang ? can the hub connect to the cameras if the cameras are outside the house n hub inside behind two doors?
I have a 5 camera system on 1 1/2 acres. The wifi range is dependent on the quality of YOUR Wifi. During setup for each of the 5 cameras I installed the app indicated the strength of signal I was getting on each individual camera. I use the Eero Pro 6 Wifi system and it is reading strong on each of the cameras I've installed.
Arlo Pro 3 Floodlight ..just finishing packing them up and getting a refund ..what a crap model ! Static noise that many people get , poor connection distance compared to my good old PRO 2 cameras. Battery life when connected to new Arlo Solar panels still only ONE week and yes they are positioned correctly and we had lots of Sun , I have gone back to my old PRO 2 Cameras. I know I don't have the light but they just work ! The P2 stay charged up and can have 5 of them connected to my hub with NO ISSUES at all. The only way you would be happy with the PRO 3 Floodlights is to permanently wire them to AC and then just put up with the horrible white static noise that MANY people have complained about. Arlo sort your sh** out !

Very informative thank you mate. I finally got the whole concept. Better than any other videos I had seen earlier. :))
Thank you Reza 🙂 glad it was helpful.
Thanks Dan, Most helpful. I will be in touch to upgrade my cameras

Absolutely Amazing Video. It goes through each details well. Very useful for someone like me who wants to install the security cams around the house.
Glad it helped!

Arlo Ultra 2, Pro with the wider lighting and brighter on it or make adapter big light for it with a larger solar panel.
great informative video - of the range I am edging towards the ultra. I was wondering with the solar panels, can they charge multiple cameras or is it a case of one solar panel per camera?
One solar panel per camera.
Great video , can Arlo devices be used with HomeKit and have all Arlo features as well, your input will be appreciated

I have a 3 camera Arlo pro system that has been very good. Can I add Arlo pro 3 with flood light to my system without a subscription?
Unfortunately No , they come with only three months free subscription but still you can have access to live feature , Arlo recently change the subscription plans and they are cheaper now
@@DeviceDeal thank you for your response. As much as I have enjoyed Arlo I'll be dropping it for another system.

Brother turn off that ridiculous background music if you want to make an informative video it's so distracting
Why is there static with the floodlight camera?
