It was still draining! That's the best part about DIY, is that you can walk away and let it fully drain for 15min+
Yes sir
Glad to see the oil change procedure hasn't changed since the earlier Camry models.
at 7:58 arent those lips suppose to be in, not out, as you screwed the cover half on?
Yes, you are right. We noticed that too and fixed it before lowering the car.
Good observation 👍🏽
@@autopurlieu here ruclips.net/video/tbKzPUnIbWA/видео.html
Yeah
You should left the drain plug off longer. I let mine drain for 30 minutes gets all the old oil out.
It’s all preference .
You won’t pass on 10mins oil change at small shops lol
My idiot mechanics from the dealer ruined my oil drain plug and the threads, good job Toyota dealer from Romania and Toyota from keeping them as a dealer.
Damn, that’s sucks
yep..I bought a 2022 le took in for free 1st oil change with another one due now at 5000+.
when they changed the oil it was getting wheels rotated.
they didn't and I called them on it.the tech walked out and swore he did.second day I bought the car I barely nicked a rim.i pointed it out how I knew and they turned dik heads.
changing oil myself and not taking back.
awsome car and price but shitty service there.
@@len8336 they been hiring a lube tech for oil change and maintenance not a mechanic.
They better lube themself lol
I'm going to do oil change myself after i pay off my car, now I still need to go the dealership to do oil change
@@chazaki2 you can still do it yourself
Always fill the filter with oil prior to installing it. This avoids a "dry" start . RUclipsr mentions "priming" the filter which is half correct. It is recommended to put a thin layer of oil on the gasket to aid in removal on the next filter change.
You are definitely right . Those are common basic things need to be done .
Thank you for your input
The oil filter is mounted in a horizontal position. If you fill the oil filter most of the oil will drain on the floor.
@@smb1014 I’m pretty sure he meant just to “prime “ it with a little bit of oil in the filter. 👍🏽
@@jonathanhantke6314 Obviously dude!! You can't "fill" a side mounted filter to the top. But, you should still pour some oil into the filter to saturate the inner medium. The less the car runs with a "dry" filter the better. For a side mounted filter I will still fill it and deal with a little spillage than risk a dry start. To each his own though...you do you man!!
@@marksweeney7373 thank you guys, it was primed (oil added inside the filter)
It wasn’t captured well in the video .
That’s always a must on every car to add oil in the filter .
I appreciate will all the concerns
Didn’t have the plastic Shield part on correctly the flap was hanging out it gets tucked in lol also priming is when you fill the filter with oil not just lubing the gasket up lol
Looks like you read the procedure lol, I didn’t have to include that details.
Thank you, it was done but forgot to include in video .
Nice video! I'm getting this car soon so do you still have to reset the oil indicator on newer vehicles?
Yes, it’s easy. It’s on the dash menu
I have the LE model, is it pretty much the same? Gonna do an oil change this weekend
Should be the same. This one is 4 cylinder. If yours V6, be slight different
I have 2021 Toyota Camry hybrid, SE . What filter and which oil should I use for it and how many quarts.,? By the way, 50,000 miles on it., thanks ahead
Just go to AutoZone or any parts store. They will tell you what’s the proper oil and filter for your car .
Auto Zone be taxing on oil compared to the same ones at Walmart😭
Is there a gasket on the drain plug? If not, is there a gasket connected to the oil pan?
There’s always a metal washer in the oil plugs.
Good video. I suggest that you should tighter harder the engine filter to make sure it's completely secured.. Also, do not just leave the funnel on the floor I believe customers doesn't want dirt inside their engine.
Thank you for your input suggestions.
Filter is tight enough I believe . I have never had a problem with hand tight. And funnels are being cleaner prior to start a another job.
But you are right . 👍🏽
@Auto Purlieu I agree, I always hand tighten and take off with hand usually, unless some other caveman glued it on. But good man, open to criticism a true mechanic knows that you never stop learning 🙌
Hand tight is correct. Using tools results in torn filter o rings
0-16 will lose its viscosity to 0-10 or 0-5 as time goes on, it will damage the engine. 5w-30 has proven to last a million miles in scientific testing. Use 0-30 the least to 0-40 because it will get thinner as the oil get wear away. We see old oil is much thinner because it worn away.
You are right but this is a 2 yr old engine. Can’t put that thick yet, really low miles right now.
Still under warranty, when you start putting different oil. Might lost the warranty
Your English is very proficient for a native Japanese master Toyota technician.
TOTAL BS !!! 🤣🤣🤣
@BibleExposition2022 The thin oil is for fuel economy, if your engine was designed with that viscosity in mind your wear parts are built for that. It’s not bad for the engine, 5w-30 would cause a lack of performance and poor fuel economy. Also it has different properties in cold weather than 5w-30. Long story short, use what they recommend.
The 0W-16 oil is for fuel economy. Once the engine is out of warranty and the engine is broken in. I would change to 0W - 20 or 5W - 20. Never 0W-40. Or 5W-30.. The 5W-20 full synthetic oil can withstand blistering outside temperature up to 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
Didn’t put the cover on right
Can you get the oil filter off without a socket wrench
Yes you can. Just need a better grip
Speak up a little louder other than that it was a good video
Yes sir. I’m working on that. Maybe I’ll do voiceover next time
Any advice on how to bypass the computer saying it needs dealer maintenance after the oil change ?
Why would you bypass it? Just reset it, clear that message
@@autopurlieu thank you for the quick reply 🙏
No gasket change?
@@rmb5858 it’s an oil change and oil filter change.
Can’t hear you because of the background music.
I have a question, what are the screws on the oil pan cover
@@marcosvarcarcel they are all normally 10mm
At minimum let it drain until it drips out.
What size of cup wrench is that you used on the oil filter?
64 mm Toyota oil filter socket
Also you never walk under the lift when it’s unlocked…
Thankx but my lift locks all the time
What size bolts hold the access panel to the drain plug?
It’s either size 8mm or 10mm normally
What oil filter did they have on it lol
It’s up to your preference .
0W16??? wow thats thin oil
Yah, here to find sometimes
How many quarts?
4
No way he can do my oil change. He can’t even let all the oil drain out. Sloppy work
😂 so you do your own oil change or you go to dealership ?
Bro you are torquing that plug bolt way to tight lol
You didn’t hear them click lol
@@autopurlieu I didn’t lol I need to turn there volume up more I’m going deaf lol
What is the ft lbs on the plug bolt?
