    Thank you ! This oil change video for camry helped me a lot and I got encouraged by watching it over and over again! I bought all the tools and wrenches and oil, washer, oil filter, jack lift, jack stand altogether! Finally I tried my first self oil change and it’s well done! Thank you once again for recording this video and I appreciate sharing your know-hows!

    How often do you change your oil? The oil thag you changed looks really good, not completely black.

    • @danielm.1608
      @danielm.1608 Месяц назад +1

      It looks to be between 4000-6000 based on the color but if you do changes before every 5K (assuming you didn’t treat it like a race car) you can easily change it every 5K and increase the longevity of the engine. If you’re waiting for it to turn black you’re already late and causing sludge to form in the engine which will eventually lead to failure. Don’t wait till the 10K that’s advertised or you’re going to be replacing the engine between 100k and 170K miles.

    • @kellsknowing4238
      @kellsknowing4238 Месяц назад

      @@danielm.1608thank you for the advice. I plan to do it every 5k, if not sooner, or every 6 months: which ever comes first.

    Great video! The only thing I would add is to recheck the oil level again after starting (1 minute) and shutting off the engine, because the oil filter filling up will cause the oil level to go slightly down.

      @rickj1983 2 года назад +4

      @@andruc2758 Yes, I am very serious. This car is a first where literally the entire underbody has plastic covering so that literally none of the frame is exposed. I normally place my floorjack on the frame however they're all covered with plastic and there are no "marked" locations.
      So, NO, none of those are plainly visible. The only ones plainly visible are the jack points for the car jack which is not the same as the floor jack for what lifts the car. Don't get upset over, it was just a question.

    • @NAls-zm4fm
      @NAls-zm4fm Год назад

      Dear Rick, you will need to be very careful . There is a spot in the frame that you can jack the car from. You should jack the car from that spot only.

    Why are you buying small bottles of oil? Just get a big bottle, save the environment.

    • @AliMECH

      Whoever sees the video thumbnail will know that it needs 5 litters without watching the video
      the plastic bottles recyclable and its already been made, so it dosnt save environment

      @@AliMECH well if people stop buying small bottles then they will produce less bottles. Also these bottles contain oil that is classified as hazardous and is not recycled as household recyclables.

    • @AliMECH
      @AliMECH  2 года назад

      they cant stop producing, bc when you get 4liter bottle you still will need 1 liter, so my main reason to show how many liters do we need

    • @jamuu1
      @jamuu1 2 года назад

      Some places unfortunately do not sell the big bottle ones for the Camry's oil. I know this because I went to autozone and o reillys and they do not have those, only the small ones. It's unfortunate.

    Quarts and liters used interchangeably? That 2 tenths of a quart remaining oil in the last quart will barely make the oil level on the dipstick past the second hole. All engines consume oil during operation. It’s slung all over the crankshaft, it’s held in the upper body, pools on top the heads and trickles down through the passageways only to be recycled into the engine repeatedly. I’ve added all 5 quarts with the new filter every time I’ve done this procedure. I’ve owned 4 Camry 2.5 ltr cars and it’s not rocket science! It’s ok to use 0W-20 conventional oil in engines that have 100K miles as it provides better oil pressure than the thinner 0W-16 synthetic. But hey it’s your money being spent on unnecessary oil. Oil producers are making money from scrupulously selling their oil change every 5000 miles they recommend. I do my own car maintenance so I know the job is right. Write the date and mileage on the filter body. Too many good customers being cheated by employees who cut corners with their products to save the company money.

  • @CenobiteBeldar

    Does doing your own oil change void the 24 month maintenance free plan?

    • @jack8356
      @jack8356 Год назад +1

      Shouldn't as long as you use genuine parts and you dont tell them. If its a different filter then it probably will void warranty

    • @ronfazer2423
      @ronfazer2423 Год назад

      NO. Document your procedure, date , mileage and keep your receipts for the oil and filter.
