It’s too bad these guys couldn’t get along because this kind of rock music only comes around once in a great while. These guys played like they really enjoyed what they were doing and their message with EVERY song was “we’re gonna rock out! Take your pop, Hip hop, to 40 cookie cutter garbage and take a hike. We’re having fun and if you don’t like it, go away and don’t listen!” These guys were awesome!! I was in the military stationed in England when their first album came out and id never heard of them. A buddy of mine fresh in from the States came to me with the cassette tape and said “man you gotta listen to this!!” I did and I was hooked!
The last of the greatest bands from Atlanta Georgia I met Rick Richards when the voodoo lounge was in town me John Avery Jimmy bledso picked up Rick Richards and went to Rick's high-rise motel room in a long white limousine reset and talked the whole night Rick is a hell of a guy I'll never forget that night thank you Rick
My favorite band of all times since high school 😹🏫😹 still to this day I feel like I'm 17 again wen I hear these beautiful song's thanks to all those who made it possible so we can enjoy their beutiuful songs and thank you to the greatest band on the planet thank you satellites you guys Rock
I´ve been to this concert in Roskilde (and the one in the following year)... that was a fantastic and amazing concert... still think about that today ;-)
Dan Baird guitar, Rick Price bass, Mauro Magellan drums, Rick Richards guitar. They never get old, I was listening to them on the way home tonight in my car.
I dare say.......with the exception of Blackberry Smoke.....there is not a band in the world today who could rack one up like this. Simply amazing. They don't make 'em like they used to.
I wore this tape out blasting it in my car. Twice. And this was the song on it that wore out first both times (this and "Battleship Chains"). Thanks for the upload, this is awesome.
damn this song rocks. in fact, this whole god damn concert rocks. the fuckin' posers and pretenders with their fake swagger and attitude who think they have it all going on have nothing on this band. they are nothing but mirrors and smoke. the satellites are real, loud and dirty. real, loud and as dirty as god almighty himself intended a rock band to be. fast, furious and fuckin' in your face. thank you lord for giving us the georgia satellites. i love this band. a band that plays the kind of rock 'n roll that does nothing if not kick you hard in the crack of your ass and then keeps on digging. thank you god almighty! yes indeed, you truly must be nothing if not the fuckin' god of rock himself. no doubt! ......and by the way, sorry for the profanity and all but, hey, rock "n roll is supposed to be "out there" and dangerous, right? hell, yeah, right! so go out there and get into some late nights with some questionable characters, sordid sex, lyrics of suspect intent (and while you're at it why don't you just slither on into some of those nice, tight blue jeans that will definitely leave nothing to my vile and degenerate imagination.) you can have AC/DC. you can have townshend. you can have all the metal you can stomach, but the satellites are the real deal daddio. ".......of course, that's just my opinion. i could be wrong."
It's always good to hear a bunch of good old boys show'in off on stage and just beating the hell out of those guitars. Great audience participation, even when they don't have a clue what those hillbillies are singing about! It can be tough coming from the south but these guys make it look easy!
@twelvemeister it is sad that they weren't more popular, Keep Your Hands to Yourself was not their best work, they rocked and so sad didn't reach the heights deserved, saw them in the 80's and almost lost my mind (well that wasn't too hard to do LOL)

THIS is the definition of rock 'n roll. No words, just music (best when listened to at volume 'full open').
🤝💯
I love this group, one of the best R & R bands that ever was !
It's TRUE!
****ing incredible supercharged rock n roll band - lit us up in London UK in the 80's.
Nearest thing now is the mighty Blackberry Smoke
Disappointed with the Blackberry Smoke! Not enough movement or beat
Both from Georgia!
I dare say.......with the exception of Blackberry Smoke.....there is not a band in the world today who could rack one up like this. Simply amazing. They don't make 'em like they used to.
Charlie actually owns that LP JR Rick is playing in this video
Yep, this is the band that saved us from synth-pop when we needed them most!
Dan Baird and Homemade Sin still holding the torch strong and high
BlackBerry smoke is the best you got???? Lol Wow I feel sorry for you
Safe to say the Satellites influenced what BBS is today to some extent.
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Now that's what i call rock and roll!!!!!!!!!!!!Eat your heart out,Stones.

I remember that show as well, Never ever in the history of Roskilde, have a band made a performance close to this.... awesome
Very cool performance. Those were the days!

Nothing out of Europe anywhere close to this. American bands rock.

Sounds just like the studio recording! Love this band!

Yes
I was lucky enough to be at this show. Never saw so many happy people in one location.
THis band flew Skynyrd off the stage when I saw them in 1988. They need to get back. I love this band.
Rick Richards always had great harmonies with Dan on old Sats tunes !!
This just so kicks ass, Better than the album version by far.
Amazing
killlllllllllller++++ awesome !!
They could sure Lord rock it!!!
Georgia Satellites without Dan Baird is like Bob Seger without the Silver Bullet Band, get it?? They ROCK
Your music is lion in the music
Punch Drunk Rock and Roll !!!!!!!
used to hang out with Rick the East Atlanta days.... so much fun
The American Quo as our lads refer to them. With the blatant rip of "Caroline' it's hard to argue against. Regardless, this is absolutely stunning.
for all the youngsters out there...this is what old timers refer to as "bar tight"....in short....kicks major a$$
best rock n roll in the land
... I would recognize that guitar sound anywhere
Liked them Very much
Sad that they split
Now that would work. Cool
Tada su stvarno bili dobri
What are those strings coming from their guitars? Someone could trip over those things! What are they???
This is fantastic.
This all started with Chuck Berry.
Well i guess im guilty too but had i known they were this good i would have bought that first album Dammit man shoot me.
@XlightspadeX mario majellan was the drummer. rick price was the bassist.

@rainspirit100 uh i think i meant the silver bullet band without Bob Seger, duh, it all gets so confusing
What the hell were people listing to that they couldnt appreiciate good music like this

@twelvemeister it is sad that they weren't more popular, Keep Your Hands to Yourself was not their best work, they rocked and so sad didn't reach the heights deserved, saw them in the 80's and almost lost my mind (well that wasn't too hard to do LOL)
